Seats Problems of Toyota RAV4 - part 2

My vehicle has the passenger air bag off and do not detect when the passenger is sit and buckled up the passenger weight it's over 100 pounds, I took my vehicle to a independent repair shop for a code to be read and the only code it shows it's b1550 (occupant classification system ) the vehicle has never been involved into an accident. I took it to the Toyota dealer located at 4413 mchenry avenue in modesto, CA the dealer receptionist said that they can't take of it, because there's no recall in record about this issue, but it is a manufacture defect that affects the safety of vehicle owner.

There is something loose in the drivers seat that is moving around and hitting the drivers back. This is very distracting and happens all the time during driving taking the drivers attention off the road. This is an on going issue and the date is just a rough estimate of when it started.

Driver's seat cushion cloth material starting to fray and deteriorate. Fabric eventually is going to fray and stuffing will begin to fall out.

I was notified in 2013 of three (3) recalls nothng has been done to address the issues. I contacted my local dealer and the service manager said "there is not safety problem and I have looked at the vehicle and northing is wrong' I forced the issue and they did an "interim" fix. Is not three years a long time for them to be getting the parts as that is the excuse I was given by the service manager.

My Rav4 has rust all over where the drivers seat as well as the passenger seats are attached to the car and seems to be so fragile that with any small impact the seat will detached from car and cause a tragic accident. The rust appeared almost immediately after it was purchased and was advised by dealership that there was nothing they can do about it . If this issue is not fixed in the future it can cause injuries or even death.

The drivers side heated leather seats become excessively hot and they have to be shut off while in use. Afraid of fire- or electrical malfunction.

On business and vacation, coming from la to atlanta. . . I was driving speed limit in far left lane, on interstate, in lagrange ,GA, a truck coming onto the interstate merging from far right loss control because she was speeding and the roads were slick from a light rain, she fishtailed from the far right , crossing the right lane and coming head on in opposite direction of traffic , hitting my rental vehicle. . Rav 4. Hit us head on. . . The airbags popped out everywhere, blocking escape exits, we thought the truck would catch afire, because of smoke smell, we tried to get out, all doors on the left of the vehicle would not open, although it wasn't hit in any way, had to crawl over seats and under airbags to escape on the right side of vehicle. Even the hatch back door at rear of vehicle would not open at all. We just barely escaped with our lives,and injuries, because if we didn't push the right side doors we would have been trapped.

The front driver seat is loose to the point that it make sound when I break or accelerate. Because the seat moves, it makes me occasionally to get distracting while I am driving. The car is under guarantee because I just bought it , but the dealer refuse to do something arguing that the car is fine. I have drive so many different cars, and all of then do not have this type of problem.

1- constant headache an stomach ache loss of eye sight 2-because of the lead in front seats which are 99% or 24198 ppm and bromine which is 99% or 131 ppm and chlorine in arm rest which is 88% or 191455ppm and wiring is 99% lead and 535011 ppm this car is highly unhealthy. 3-Toyota did not do anything case#200810010833.

Incident no injuries so far I own a 2006 Toyota Rav4 purchased in mexico serial# tmzd31v865021536 there are two incidents reported with dealer in mexico but no response at all: 1. The passanger seat excesively vibrates and wobbles when nobody is seated, I do not know if that poses a risk; I have had three previuosly new vehicles and never I have seen a seen vibrate and make noise and rattles by itself when you are on the road and noone is seated. 2. Water leak from the heba or aircondition unit, I have at least 4 instances in which water leaks fom the ip or dash, the water posses a risk of electrica short or major mailfunction, is comming from inside the dashboard in the passanger side ! please help, dealer do nothing, I don't know if this posses a risk my guess is yes. I'm reporting here because in mexico there is not an entity as this one and this vehicle is also sold over the USA. The vehicle was manufactured over japan and is the very same that Toyota sells in America.

- the contact owns a 2006 Rav4. The 2nd seat did not lock in place. This seat was replaced by the dealer on 4/2006. Since 12/09/06 the failure has reoccurred and has not been repaired. The dealer stated that the track was grinding away and the hinge broken again. The dealer called weekly to inform her that the part wasn't available.

The owners manual shows that a seat tether anchor can be installed. However, the dealer was unable to install one and Toyota customer service told me that the manual was a misprint and the anchor is only available starting in 2000.
