Tony divino Toyota, a Toyota motor company dealership, sold me this vehicle sight unseen knowing I would immediately be towing a boat trailer 350 miles at highway speeds through construction zones on I-80 with children and our dog onboard. I was told it had passed a "160 point inspection" and was "in great condition". However, when delivered to me the dealership knew it was not road worthy and in fact illegal to drive on public roads due to missing a third brake light, bad rear brakes were bad, the transmission had failed, the battery had failed, the shocks/struts had failed, and a live shotgun shell was rolling around under the drivers seat. Both Toyota motor corporation and the dealership refused to address or correct these vehicle defects which could have resulted in a disastrous crash with injury/death to myself and children. This systemic Toyota disregard for used vehicle quality creates a national safety issue with all cars processed through the Toyota motor company network.

Vsc track sensor and engine check lights came on while driving at 40 mph in the city. I have noticed in the past two months that when I slow to make a turn the breaks lock up and grind, but not always. The safety break is also on. I have read that when the vsc lights do come on that you cannot go over 50 miles an hour or when on the highway the car will slow down to 50 and cannot go any faster. I'm afraid of this happening when traveling on the highway.

The trac off and vsc trac turned on along with the check engine and when I tried to step on the gas it will grind and not move the same would happen when I tried stepping on the brake. I took it to the dealer and charge me 1800 to change the water pump and the evap cause there was a leakage. 2 days later the lights turn back on.

2014 Toyota Sequoia sr/5 I just leased the above vehicle. It is the third Toyota passenger vehicle that I have owned and/or leased. This vehicle has a problem that poses a serious threat to life and limb of those who operate it as well as others on the hiway and nearby. The problem is that instrument panel is so badly lighted in the daytime that during bright daylight hours with the instruments being shaded by their location within the panel they cannot be read. This is a terrible distraction to the driver who is trying to check instruments while also driving the vehicle. One really needs to use a flashlight to see speed, how much fuel is in the auto and to check on other functions such as oil, engine temperature, radio tuning and other items reflected in the instrument panel. Sort of like “texting” which occupies and demands one’s attention while trying to “see” the conditions reflected by the instruments on the panel, rather than concentrating on other traffic, road and other conditions. This is the third Toyota I have used over the past ten years and the problem has been present in each of the vehicles, though with the above model the problem is getting worse rather than better. Toyota should be required to “fix” this problem before someone has been injured or killed—which has probably already happened.
