2 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2005 Toyota Sequoia

Failure Date: 04/14/2016

I have vsc trac, vsc off, and check engine. If you give it a lot of fuel, it just sounds like it wants to go, but it doesn't translate into power in the rear end. I use my code reader and it showed codes p1441 and p1444. Says I may have: a) faulty vacuum switching valve (vsv) for air injection control circuit, b)faulty air switching valve number 2, or c)faulty vsv for air injection system. This is the second time this happened to my Sequoia, and this seems to be a recurring issues for Toyota Sequoia owners and in fact it is a recurring issues for other models as well. This cost me approximately $2200 last time and now 2 years later it is back for another $2200 to repair. It's all the over the internet about this vsc trac, vsc off, and check engine, it needs to be recalled!.

3 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2005 Toyota Sequoia

Failure Date: 09/01/2014

Trac off, vsc trac ,engine light came on. . . Trouble code was p1444 (secondary air injection system switching value stuck). . . Vehicle had problems accelerating. Repairman indicated that the air injection pump/check values needed to be replaced and very expensive. Based on other reports it appears that this is a frequent occurrence and vehicles shutting down on interstates. Others have said that Toyota knows about this but won't issue an extended warranty, but offers for newer vehicles . Owned several Toyotas before this. . . This could be a deal breaker for future Toyotas.

4 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2005 Toyota Sequoia

Failure Date: 11/03/2013

Car had very little power when pressing gas pedal. Took to Toyota dealership where they indicated the "air injection pump" required replacement. I performed the required repair and it was $3,000. I've also seen this is a common problem with this model vehicle.

5 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2005 Toyota Sequoia

Failure Date: 11/01/2013

I'm a loyal customer to Toyota. My 2005 Sequoia sr5 v8 was recently diagnosed with a check engine light. The truck is always been meticulously cared for by my local Toyota dealer. In many cases, I have had the truck serviced based on dealer recommendations to prolong its use. It had approx 85,000 miles when I noticed the main thence light. After a visit to the stone mountain, GA dealership, they wanted $4000 for parts and labor on an emission component failure (air pump injection system). I was told that the air pump injections could be defective and that the light/maintenance codes do not make the truck un-driveable nor does it cause a safety risk, but that it would not pass the state emissions inspection. I inquired about possible defect and/or recall notices for the air pump injections and have been told on 4 occasions, over the past 18 months that there is no recall. After researching the internet forums and boards, I found out that this was a recurring problem with other v8 Sequoias, tundras & 4runners. According to your website & other research, the tundras and Sequoias with the same 4. 7l v8 has had the same emission component warrantied to 10 years/150,000 miles (TSB 032908/TSB 035009), but the dealership has not helped in resolving. I am not willing to pay the approx $4000 for the repair, given that I have been given misinformation and the "run around" about getting this fixed under the stated recall number and want to for all document my complaint in hopes of getting this matter rectified promptly. . 6 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2012 Toyota Sequoia

Failure Date: 10/17/2013

I brought my Sequoia in for a 10,000 mile oil change and when I picked it up, I was told that the dealership had completed ssc doe update. Since the update, my vehicle makes a loud noise when turning the engine off and then a thump sound. Was told that the noise is coming from the air injection pumps that were affected from the doe update. Toyota will not give me any documentation on the recall for my vehicle that affects the emission control ejector to fail and the vehicle going into fail safe mode. Toyota representatives are telling me that the noise is normal and is suppose to be there. This noise was not present before the update and I do not feel that the vehicle is safe when it is extremely secretive about the recall or the update that is being performed on the vehicle due to the recall. My vehicle makes noises that do not sound right. I did not purchase the car making all of this noise and I want the vehicle to perform and function as it did when I purchased it.
