13 Power Train problem of the 2008 Toyota Sequoia

Failure Date: 07/30/2021

Tony divino Toyota, a Toyota motor company dealership, sold me this vehicle sight unseen knowing I would immediately be towing a boat trailer 350 miles at highway speeds through construction zones on I-80 with children and our dog onboard. I was told it had passed a "160 point inspection" and was "in great condition". However, when delivered to me the dealership knew it was not road worthy and in fact illegal to drive on public roads due to missing a third brake light, bad rear brakes were bad, the transmission had failed, the battery had failed, the shocks/struts had failed, and a live shotgun shell was rolling around under the drivers seat. Both Toyota motor corporation and the dealership refused to address or correct these vehicle defects which could have resulted in a disastrous crash with injury/death to myself and children. This systemic Toyota disregard for used vehicle quality creates a national safety issue with all cars processed through the Toyota motor company network.

My 2001 Sequoia (151,000 mi) which has been garaged and maintained meticulously is suddenly showing the vsc lights and brake lights at the same time! there is a very rough feeling when I'm driving the car like something in the undercarriage is very wrong. There is a "clunking" noise as slow as 5 mph at all times and all speeds. At high speeds, the car will suddenly pull to the left momentarily and then release itself but the lights never go out unless car is off. I have read the 138 complaints at the dot. Gov site about this exact problem and thus far, Toyota corp is ignoring the complaints. Where is the recall for this problem. 28 Power Train problem of the 2010 Toyota Sequoia

Failure Date: 04/09/2016

I took the vehicle in for a 55,000 mile service. Toyota dealership informs me that the vehicle is leaking oil from both side of the cam tower. Their estimate to fix is over $4000. Parts are $170 and 25 to 30 hours of labor to remove the entire engine. The leaking oil is a safety concern, and it is due to a failed sealant that appears to have come that way from the factory from many other cases I have read. The cost of repair makes it unrealistic for most owners who will more than likely not repair it in a timely manner. The issue may also go unnoticed if taken to another mechanic other than a dealer who is not familiar with the issue.

Brakes do not work correctly. There was a recall on the Sequoia however, when I called Toyota last month they had told me that I was unable to have the recall taken care of because my time had expired! how can that be possible if there is a defect in the Sequoia? sure enough I was driving and there was a problem stopping as had been noted in the recall. This is extremely dangerous and unfair! if I get into an accident Toyota will be liable! what can I do about this???.
