Windshield wipers stopped working in the middle of the cycle during heavy rain and stayed at a 45 degree angle causing visibility obstruction as well as not clearing rain. Dealer is investigating.
The vehicle is equipped with towing mirror package. The problem is the size and placement of the mirrors. They are roughly 12” wide by 12” long and then have an arm that is solid that is 10” wide and 10” long when not extended. The placement of the mirrors on the vehicle completely blocks view of cross traffic with standard seating position. When stopped at a stop sign the driver will need to move their head to nearly touching the steering wheel to see around these mirrors through a small triangular glass section. Small - medium cars/trucks are completely hidden behind the mirrors at stop intersections. To fix the issue the mirror needs to sit 6-8” lower on the vehicle and/or have the arm see through instead of solid.
We parked our car in our garage at about 11:30 am. I went to the garage around 4pm to get my wallet and the sunroof was shattered. There was a small amount of glass in the car, and more glass on top. The glass was cracked and bowed upwards, like it had exploded from the inside. There were no cracks in the glass prior to this, nor was the temperature below freezing that day. Nothing could have fallen on the roof in the garage. I can't think of anything that would have caused that much damage to that type of tempered glass and us not realize it. It's like it just blew up from the inside, ive never seen anything like it.

Sunroof exploded while driving on freeway. I was doing 65 mph in the carpool lane. No apparent debris from surrounding vehicles. Front car was far away, side vehicles driving slower and no trucks. All the edges of the remaining glass are facing outward as if there was too much pressure inside the vehicle. I had complained earlier to the dealer about a wind whistling noise which they were unable to confirm. 10:15 am, 58 degrees, spotted rain, 5-16-2019.

One morning around 11/20/2018, I noticed my window shield was cracked in the upper right hand side. Passengers side. It also developed strange noises, rattling, in the dashboard. I had had the evaporator replaced, so I took it back to the mechanic to check the noise out. He advised that after inspection he noticed the windshield was cracked and loose. It had nothing to do with the evaporator installation. So I now have a cracked and loose windshield, with no accident or crash, no rock hit my winshield. So I suspect it was a badly installed windshiel. I noticed this winshield one morning while still in the driveway.

Takata recall. This vehicle has excessive vibration in the steering wheel / vehicle when at 55mph or higher. I've been numerous times to the dealearship for this issue and they keep telling me this is normal. I spent almost $65,000. 00 on this vehicle and the vibrations is unacceptable. This is uncomfortable and could ultimately pose a serious hazard on the road. Something has to be causing this vibration and Toyota needs to find a fix for it. The vehicle comfort while driving is not a pleasant one. Also the wipers make excessive noise while in use. Again the dealership says this is normal. But this is so loud that it is hard to concentrate while driving with this noise.

The rear door has continued to have issues repeatedly. The handle to open the rear door broke once and had to be replaced in order to open the door. The rear wiper has stopped working severall times, and the window in the rear door has stopped working multiple times despite repeated repairs.
Received notice of recall for front passenger airbag in may 2015; Toyota has still not resolved the problem and recommended no use of front passenger seat because of safety. It is now ~8 months later and no resolve. Also, tailgate wipers, window and wiper fluid system not operational (since 2008) despite all good fuses in 4 compartments.

The rear window motor and window tracks have rusted completely. The motor has failed and the window tracks are completly rusted away. The window is not unoperable. There is a short in the O2 sensor wiring underneath the vehicle. There is currently a recall on the above vehicle regarding frame rust. I believe that the above complaints are directly related to the rust issues that this vehicle has.

I bought my 2006 Sequoia used from a dealer. Shortly after buying it I noticed the brake light on the dashboard would come on intermittently. I have brought it to the dealers attention & they say they can not duplicate it & everything appears to be fine with the brakes. It is still happening. My rear wiper, window & defrost system have failed several times. At first I took it to the dealership & they said the window must not have been up the whole way & it was now working. It continued to go in and out, but now they have failed completely. . I have checked the fuses & they are fine. I have taken it to the dealership & they said they do not see anything immediately wrong with it and will need to investigate it further, but that will cost a lot more. I saw several other people have had the same or similar problems so I thought I should add my experience to the list.
