Tire failure - apparent belt slip/failure tire marking is sp40 a/s.
The belts on all four of my bridgestone blizzak snow tires separated and moved within the tires creating extremely rough and dangerous ride. The occurence developed from an even, smooth ride to slight wheel shimmy to extreme bumpy and wobbly ride - all within one hundred miles of highway driving.
While driving about 75 mph on the highway and without warning there was a rattling noise on the passenger's side rear tire, tread separated from the tire. A firestone, p205/70r15, dot#w2m0f61.
While driving on interstate, right front tire tread separated causing minor damage to fender/bumper. Tire was a firestone model fr 680 size p205 with 37k miles. Previously left front tire partially separated before replaced with other brand tire. Called firestone store and manager said this is not a recall. Firestone should recall as these tires are unsafe and could lead to major damage or loss of life.
While driving, one of the tires experienced tread separation, which caused the tire to blow out.
We have had multiple complaints about the tires since we purchased the van april2000. Dealer says nothing wrong. We have to check tire pressure frequently and add air. Today, during a trip from norfolk to wadesboro, nc, vibrations were felt. Pulled into firestone station. Said nothing wrong. Upon arrival in wadesboro, we had the tires checked again (not firestone store) and were told the tread is separating.

Tread separation,d10l dot pdmo imgi 1300 09r dot pdmo imhr 1300 details - I purchased the two tires shown above on 7/7/2000 to replace two of the original tires. I still have the two bum goodyear tires in my garage. This was on a 2000 Toyota siena minivan with only 9,916 miles. I purchased it new. On 8/9/2001 with 28,923 miles I had the tires rotated, but the technician could not balance them. He showed me where the tread of both tires was separating from the body. The goodyear dealer that sold me the tires said I could get replacement but no money back. Thus I kept the tires and went to another shop. After owning the car for two days, the tire suffered a flat caused by a rock. If a nail or something else, there would be no complaint, but a rock. Repair shop said the tire may need to be replaced due to the size of the puncture. I feel the tire has to be defective as I have driven on the same rocky road with road tires and never suffered puncture or any damage to my michelin tires. Neither has my parents or family who live and visit this roadway regularly. Manufacturer is standing behind the warranty clause of non-responsibility due to failure caused by punctures but there is a problem with this and possibly the other tires for this to happen.
