1 Windshield problem

Failure Date: 08/28/2009

Ac compressor failed. Defog system uses the ac system to blend the air to control fog buildup on inside of windshield. This can be very frightening especially on rainy days. Ac system is not only a convenient option it's necessary for the correct operation of the defog system.

2 Windshield problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2009

I discovered my windshield was cracked recently. The length of the crack when discovered was approximately 2 1/2 inches. The crack is now approximately 12 inches long and causes visibility problems when the sun hits it (blinding reflections). I am concerned the windshield is no longer stable or safe. There is no visible rock chip, there is no other sign of injury to the windshield, and the vehicle has never been in an accident. Because the damage appears to be due to poor windshield quality (defective materials) and because other Toyota Sienna owners have experienced the same problem, I believe Toyota is responsible for the cost of replacement of the defective windshield: a new windshield plus the cost of labor plus the cost of disposal of the defective windshield plus warranty on the new windshield.

3 Windshield problem

Failure Date: 04/09/2008

The contact owns a 2005 Toyota Sienna. The windshield is falling apart, the weatherstrips are detaching, and the cover directly above the hood of the vehicle is sinking underneath. The contact has not taken the vehicle to the dealer and is not driving the vehicle. The current and failure mileages were 33,000.

4 Windshield problem

Failure Date: 09/08/2005

After purchasing a new 2005 Toyota Sienna the consumer discovered a distortion along the bottom about an inch and a half of the tinted area of the front windshield. There was a crease distortion that was distracting when driving. Concerned, the consumer took vehicle back to dealer, who discovered the distortion as well. The dealer talked to the service department and noted that the other model vehicles had this distortion on the windshield as well. No corrections or repairs were made to the windshield. The consumer contacted Toyota manufacturer and filed a compliant with the company as well.
