1 Rear Suspension Shock Absorber problem of the 2002 Toyota Sienna

The lower rear mount for the passenger-side rear shock absorber was found when the vehicle was stationary to have become partially fractured over time. It is made of thin hollow metal with internal threads. There is no replacement for this except to purchase a large multi-functional unit costing $1,688. 00.

2 Rear Suspension Shock Absorber problem of the 2014 Toyota Sienna

Failure Date: 11/01/2014

"cluck" noise in the rear suspension. Right side first after one year of normal use and 13k (mi) left side at 17k (mi) now both side have's a noise when driving in a normal road condition. Both side box or drawer's on rear passenger compartment are empty when noise is present and all seat belt was latched for accurate hearing and a better diagnostic. Road tests the Sienna without any load and noise is present, load the cargo area and noise are intermittent what it mean is no always present. Noise is present always in motion and affected by road condition. More likely happens on small road bumps or no pavement driveway. Inspected rear jack compartment and rear a/c unit, found nothing lose or sing of chafing. Visual inspect the vehicle and found a rear right shock absorber wear and rust in the center area.
