3 issue with 5tdkk3dc2fs565851 Toyota Sienna 2015 le van *1 - seat belt - 2nd row driver side seat belt cannot be wear. Cannot wear seat belt as the red part that fastens the seat belt clip does not work. 44 Seat Belt problem of the 2008 Toyota Sienna

Failure Date: 05/31/2018

When attempting to install my forward facing car seat using latch, I've not been able to locate the hook for the top tether, that should be located behind each of my 2nd row seats. Despite checking the manufacturers manual, I was merely able to locate what felt like a hook that is completely covered by fabric. Not knowing any better, I mistakenly hooked the tether strap to another hook that was located behind the seat. In completing a cpst course, I've learned that this practice could have significantly injured or killed my child if we had been involved in a wreck. My cpst instructors agreed with my suspicion that there is a defect in the construction of these seats, and that the tether bar should not be completely covered by fabric. My fear is that other families with this vehicle are putting their children at risk of injury or death because they aren't utilizing the top tether simply because they can't access the bar for it.

45 Seat Belt problem of the 2017 Toyota Sienna

While waiting in traffic on a county road to turn left, our Sienna was hit from behind by a car traveling at approximately 40 mph. Front row seatbelts did not engage, nor did front airbags deploy. Our Sienna hit the stopped vehicle in front of us upon impact as well. Only right side curtain airbags deployed and middle row seatbelts restrain. This resulted in multiple injuries to the front row passengers, including a severe concussion.

47 Seat Belt problem of the 2008 Toyota Sienna

Failure Date: 03/19/2018

The driver's seatbelt has started releasing itself during motion; this happens every time I drive. In addition, when stationary and about to drive, when I try to latch the seatbelt it has become almost impossible to get the seatbelt to latch. In addition, it is almost impossible to get out of the seatbelt when stopping driving because it is stuck in the latch. This combination of self-release, non-latching, and being stuck is a serious danger hazard and needs to be recalled by Toyota. The vehicle is undriveable in this condition.

53 Seat Belt problem of the 2004 Toyota Sienna

Failure Date: 10/07/2017

Seat belt buckle unlatches itself while driving (city streets as well as highway) or stationary. This occurs ever after shoving the tongue back and forth in the latch several times and it remains latched. Later, it will unlatch itself. It has occurred mostly on straightaways, but also in turns. I removed the latch assembly and blew compressed air through it. Two large red plastic pieces came out, but the problem returned on the next drive. This situation has been going on for about two weeks now. It has occurred from zero to 65 miles an hour.

58 Seat Belt problem of the 2015 Toyota Sienna

Failure Date: 05/18/2017

Shoulder straps of passenger mid-section seats have lost tension and do not reliably retract, possibly due to extended car seat installation (britax pinnacle clicktight, was installed for prolonged period in harness mode). Lack of shoulder strap tension is a severe hazard as I attempted to convert britax pinnacle clicktight to booster mode but found that child could loosen their shoulder strap and be sitting in booster mode seat with a loose shoulder strap that is not holding them tight and secure at the shoulder.

59 Seat Belt problem of the 2005 Toyota Sienna

Failure Date: 05/02/2017

I own a 2005 Toyota Sienna van and have been bragging on it to everyone except for one big problem that has haunted me since 2016. The problem is that it has faulty seat belts that were installed in this van and they were recalled. It took forever to convince adams of lee's summit to replace them because they didn't do it every time. My husband bob fought with adams of lee's summit dealership on several occasions trying to get the original recall performed because the seatbelts would not do it every time. In the mean time I was forced to carry a small screwdriver a forced to sit in parking lots in danger as I fought to try and untangle the crossover of the seatbelt. Than after many trips they finally replaced the seatbelts. Within a year the post height adjustment broke on the drivers side and it broke in the up tallest position wear my 6 2 husband needs it. I am a 55 women with disabilities and having to constantly fight with these seatbelts to go to my doctors appointments is horrible. So now it sits across my throat, very painful and unsafe. He has taken back to the dealer two times and they refuse to honor their work or part. First time on 05/02/2017 which was less than a year after it was replaced, noted as body/interior repair order. They refused to repair it. Second time we brought it up again at an oil change on 7/3/2018 they also refused. They were paid to install it under warranty it should come with some type of a warranty with this installation. Seatbelts are designed to be worn across our legs and across our shoulder, not our neck. I feel something needs to be done for my safety. You attention to this problem would be greatly appreciate. Sincerely, mrs. Ronna sackuvich 816-804-5798.

Middle row and back row seat belts do not retract and get stuck. The rear belts get stuck and do not come out or retract. The seat belt was unbuckled, but the winding mechanism only winded, not did not allow unwinding resulting in a child being almost being strangled by the belt. The car was moving when the malfunction started. I pulled over to service area and attempted to loosen it, but the seat belt could not be loosened with normal mechanism. Child was in pain and had no room to manuever. Obtained scissors from dunkin donuts to cut the seatbelt.

67 Seat Belt problem of the 2005 Toyota Sienna

Failure Date: 07/25/2016

I made an appointment and showed up 15 minutes early at 11:15am for my appointment at a the Toyota service center on 4th avenue in san francisco. I have two recalls issues on my 2005 Sienna (shift lock solenoid and corrosion of the spare tire carrier) and this super annoying and unsafe locking of my front seat belts both on the driver and passenger side. The seat belt issue should be covered under a warranty enhancement - zf2. It took them 5 hours to fix both recall but they refuse to fix my seat belt issue. At first, they said they couldn't replicate the issue. I drove off and what do you know, the seat beat got stuck again! I drove back to the service center and show my service person. He jerked the seat belt left and right to loosen it and then said this "just happens" and there is nothing they can do about it. He said the warranty enhancement was for the retractor mechanism and not for the folding seatbelt issue. I said, this is obviously a defect in the design of the seatbelt holder/attachment and Toyota should fix it. Was told, "nope, sorry, can't help you. " I was so mad. Wasted a whole day and didn't get the most important issue to me fixed. Toyota is no longer caring about its customer.

70 Seat Belt problem of the 2015 Toyota Sienna

Failure Date: 06/03/2016

2nd row seat belts bind and generally do not retract, even when seat is occupied. They remain loose and flop around and do not "snug up" against the occupant as every other seat belt does. Dealer says "all the Sienna's do that" because it's such a long belt - in fact he replaced the belt and the replacement does the same thing. This seems like a safety hazard since in the case of a wreck I worry that the seat belt may not retract correctly to restrain the occupant, or even if it retracts it may not be positioned correctly. Mostly the 2nd row belts are very loose and flop around unless an adult makes a conscious effort to slowly and very carefully feed the back into the reel.
