I am filing a complaint regarding a safety recall on my 2025 Toyota Sienna. My vehicle is subject to an active safety recall that affects the second-row seating area. Due to this recall, the second row cannot be safely used. This makes the vehicle unsuitable for normal family use. I have a family of six, and the vehicle was purchased specifically for family transportation. Despite repeated attempts, the dealer has been unable to provide a timely repair appointment. I have been informed that the proposed recall repair may involve cutting and welding the vehicle floor, which would constitute a major structural modification to a brand-new vehicle. I am extremely concerned that such a repair would negatively impact the safety, integrity, and value of the vehicle. At this time, the vehicle remains unrepaired, and I am effectively deprived of full and safe use of the car due to a safety-related defect. I am requesting that this issue be reviewed, as the recall remedy is delayed and the proposed repair raises serious safety and quality concerns. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

In October, 2025 I learned of a serious safety recall for improperly welded seat rails during manufacturing of a 2025 Toyota Sienna. I was not officially communicated of this safety recall by mail until December, 2025. I purchased this vehicle specifically to safely transport children and elderly parents, requiring full functionality of the captains seats and rear seats. While a repair/fix is being evaluated, Toyota provided the option to rent a vehicle and leave my new Toyota Sienna sitting on the dealer lot. However, no equivalent Toyota Siennas are available for long term rental at local dealerships, forcing us into highly inconvenient options for transport. Toyota was negligent in selling a new vehicle with improperly welded seat rails. There was a lapse in manufacturing quality control that is evident. Why were customers not notified until December of 2025, when these vehicles were sold nearly 6 months prior? after communications in December, 2025, there have been zero follow up correspondence from Toyota as of January 20, 2026.
I am submitting this complaint regarding safety recall 25ta12 (interim notice 25tb12) for my 2025 Toyota Sienna xle woodland edition, VIN available upon request. Toyota has acknowledged that the second-row seat rails may have improper weld penetration, creating a risk that the seats may lose structural integrity in certain high-speed collisions, increasing the risk of injury. Toyota has issued written instructions advising that no one should sit in or use a child restraint in any second-row seat while the vehicle is in motion, and has also issued a stop sale, indicating Toyota’s determination that the vehicle should not be sold or delivered in its current condition. There is no repair remedy available, no parts, and no estimated timeline for correction. Because this vehicle is used to transport four young children in car seats, Toyota’s instructions render the vehicle unsafe and unusable for its intended purpose. I have complied with Toyota’s guidance and removed the vehicle from service. The vehicle has been out of service continuously since October 8, 2025 through today, December 30, 2025, totaling 84 calendar days and 60 business days with no repair attempt possible due to Toyota’s inability to provide a remedy. Toyota has stated that a loaner vehicle substitutes for safe seating; however, loaners do not correct the underlying defect, do not restore the vehicle’s certified safety condition, and do not eliminate the ongoing risk or loss of use of the purchased vehicle. Toyota continues to sell similarly equipped vehicles while leaving affected owners without a path to repair. I am requesting NHTSA review whether Toyota’s handling of this recall—including extended delays with no remedy, reliance on stop-use instructions, and indefinite loss of safe use—meets federal safety obligations and adequately protects consumers and child passengers.
We received notice of our 2025 Toyota Sienna second-row seat rails suspect welds in early December via mailed letter from Toyota. The recall notice was posted on Toyota's website on October 7, 2025. We called our dealership on December 13, 2025 and received no information other than the remedy was not available. It is now the end of January and as far as we can find there is no remedy. Toyota explained that our second-row seats are mounted on seat rails that may have been improperly welded. They "recommend no one sit in or use a child restraint in the second-row seats while the vehicle is moving until the remedy is performed on the vehicle. " this impacts our ability to use our car fully. We purchased this vehicle for its capacity and can't take full advantage of this perk.
My 2025 Toyota Sienna limited is subject to NHTSA safety recall25v668 (Toyota recall no. 25ta12 (interim notice 25tb12)) regarding improperly welded second-row seat rails. The recall notice, which was mailed on 11/21/2025 and received by me the first week of December, 2025, states that these welds may fail in a high-speed collision, preventing the seats from restraining occupants and increasing the risk of serious injury. Toyota interim safety instructions advise that second-row seats should not be occupied until repaired. Prior to receiving this notice in the mail from Toyota I was unaware of the defect. There were no service lights or notifications in the car's electronic panel. I have since learned that the notice was issued on 10/7/2025. My vehicle has been grounded at conicelli Toyota service department in conshohocken, PA since 12/22/2025 - it has been inspected for this defect and to date the service department manager does not have the parts to repair it and cannot give me an expected date for the part to be available and repairs performed. I purchased this vehicle in full on 3/6/2025. Since the recall was issued on 10/7/2025, I have contacted my Toyota dealer several times to inquire on an estimated date for repair of this safety issue. I have also filed a complaint /report with Toyota brand engagement center. As of 1/29/2026, Toyota has failed to provide a definitive date for the repair or a timeline for the availability of replacement parts. I purchased this vehicle to safely transport my four grandchildren -ages, [xxx] , [xxx] , [xxx] and [xxx] to and from school/daycare every day. Because I cannot safely use the second-row seats, the vehicle is unusable for its primary purpose of transporting my family. The vehicle has been effectively "out of service" for safety reasons for more than 90 cumulative days. I am asking a manufacturer buyback as the safety defect has not been remedied within a reasonable timeframe. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(.
Unknown dear Toyota motor sales, u. S. A. , inc. Consumer affairs department: I am writing to formally demand a full buyback and refund for the above-referenced 2025 Toyota Sienna (the "vehicle") under the arkansas new motor vehicle quality assurance act (the "arkansas lemon law"), ark. Code ann. §§ 4-90-401 et seq. The vehicle is subject to a critical safety recall (25ta12, with interim notice 25tb12) involving improperly welded second-row seat rails, which poses a substantial risk to the safety of myself, my passengers, and others on the road. As of the date of this letter, Toyota has issued no remedy for this defect and provided no estimated timeframe for when a repair will become available. This renders the vehicle unusable for its intended business purpose and out of service indefinitely, in violation of the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, as well as the express warranties provided with the vehicle. Background and defect: I purchased the vehicle on [xxx], new from landers Toyota nwa, rogers ar for $49,058. The vehicle has been registered and primarily used in arkansas since acquisition. On or about October 7, 2025, Toyota issued recall 25ta12, notifying owners that the second-row seats in certain 2025 Sienna models, including my VIN , are mounted on seat rails that may have been improperly welded. This defect could cause the seats to detach during a crash, increasing the risk of injury or death. An interim notice (25tb12) followed, confirming the issue but explicitly stating that no repair remedy is currently available and no loaner vehicles or temporary fixes are being provided. Since receiving notice of the recall, the vehicle has been effectively out of service for safe operation. I cannot, in good conscience, use this vehicle with a known safety defect that compromises occupant protection in the event of an accident. Toyota has failed to provide any repair, temporary solution, or estimated completion date, leaving me without a functional vehicle for commercial pu.
I have 2 babies that have to sit in the 2nd row! I need the remedy fixed ASAP!!!.
There has been an active recall notice since oct 7 about the rear seats not being properly welded. There is still no updated information about when a remedy will be available.
It has been over 60 days since the recall was announced. There is currently no repair available and no estimate of when a repair will be available. I have been notified of the recall through the Toyota app, but have received nothing in the mail. Totoya representatives confirmed that my vehicle is affected. The welding on the middle seats may be compromised, making the middle seats unusable. This is greatly affecting not only the safety of the vehicle, but its use as well, since it is in essence now only a 5 passenger vehicle. I requested a buy-back on my two month old car from Toyota but the claim was denied.
Nhtsa recall no. 25v668 with report date 10/7/25 provided notice that 2nd row seats were deemed unsafe to use by Toyota. We bought this vehicle specifically to be able to use the 2nd and 3rd row seats for our family. Over 3 months later, Toyota still has not provided any update on when remedy will be available for this safety recall. When will they have the remedy available?.
The 2nd row seats have failed to provide a knowing safe place for passengers to ride. Toyota has known about this issue since October 7, 2025 (81 days) and there is no remedy. I cannot drive my brand new van due to the safety issue (the possibility of the seats become detached in collisions) as I use my car to transport toddler family member and need to utilize the 2nd row seat; due to mobility issues I cannot place the toddler in the 3rd row seat. Toyota has been able to fix the issue to continue to make and sell 2026 7 passenger vehicles in my area as confirmed by local dealers. The problem has been acknowledge by my local Toyota dealer, as well as Toyota USA. My van has not been inspected by anyone. I had no problems with my van prior to the notification of this recall.
My name is [xxx] , and I am filing this safety complaint regarding my 2025 Toyota Sienna, VIN [xxx] , subject to recall 25ta12. The vehicle has been under recall for a safety issue related to second-row seat rails, and I have been informed by both the dealership and Toyota representatives that they cannot guarantee the vehicle is safe for transporting children. I continue to pay full monthly finance payments (to Toyota!!! they financed my car) for this vehicle, which I cannot safely use as intended (for transporting my four children), and the dealerships in my area do not have suitable loaner vehicles. I am filing this complaint to document the ongoing safety risk and the financial and logistical burden this situation has created. I request that this recall and its handling be reviewed, and that appropriate action be taken to protect consumers. Thank you. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Recall 25ta12 for a 2025 Sienna van second rows seats rail welds is not being handled in a timely manner by Toyota. I received a notice on oct 5, 2025 about this recall and 90 days later there still isn’t a remedy by Toyota. This is unacceptable as Toyota put the owners on notice by saying not to use the second row seats as injuries may happen due to improperly welded seat rails. Toyota needs to step up and get this recall completed now.
My 2025 Toyota Sienna is subject to safety recall 25ta12 for improperly welded second-row seat rails that may fail and provide inadequate occupant protection in a crash. This is a serious safety defect involving the seats used by my children. The recall was issued on October 7, 2025. More than 60 days have passed and Toyota has not provided an available remedy or repair. Multiple dealerships have confirmed that no parts or repair procedure are available. Toyota corporate initially stated they would locate or authorize a temporary replacement vehicle within 24 hours but failed to follow up. I was later told Toyota corporate cannot provide or reimburse alternative transportation, leaving me without a safe way to transport my children. The vehicle cannot be safely used as intended while the recall remains open, and the manufacturer has not provided a remedy or safe accommodation. I am submitting this complaint due to the unreasonable delay in providing a safety recall fix and lack of transportation alternatives.
My vehicle is subject to a safety recall issued on October 7 for improperly welded second-row seat rails. Toyota has stated that if these seats are occupied during certain high-speed collisions, they may lose structural integrity, increasing the risk of injury. Because these seats are required to safely transport my young children, the recall renders the vehicle unsafe and unusable for its intended purpose. It has now been over three months since the recall was issued, and Toyota has not provided a remedy. The dealership has no information regarding when repairs will be available, and our vehicle is currently being held at the dealership. Toyota has provided a rental vehicle; however, this does not resolve the issue. The rental is not the same vehicle we purchased, does not meet our family’s needs, and requires frequent renewals, creating an ongoing burden. We purchased this vehicle specifically to meet our transportation needs and remain unable to use it. The vehicle was only six months old at the time of the recall. We requested a replacement vehicle due to the seriousness of the safety defect and the lack of a repair timeline, but Toyota denied this request and has offered no long-term solution. I am filing this complaint due to the unreasonable delay, loss of use, and lack of a permanent remedy for a serious safety defect involving child passenger seating.
I purchased this vehicle on March 8, 2025. On October 7, 2025, I was notified of safety recall 25ta12 involving the second-row seats. Due to this safety defect, the second row cannot be used, rendering the vehicle unsafe and impractical for its intended purpose. This vehicle was purchased specifically to transport my family of five, including three children (currently ages [xxx] , [xxx] , and [xxx] ), all of whom require car seats. It is not physically possible to safely install three car seats in the third row of this vehicle, particularly an infant seat. As a result, I cannot safely transport my children and the vehicle cannot be used as a family vehicle. As of January 5, 2026, more than 90 days have passed since I was notified of the recall, and I have been informed that there is still no available remedy or repair timeline. During this period, I continue to make monthly payments of approximately $1,000 on a vehicle that does not meet basic safety and usability expectations. No adequate resolution or interim accommodation has been provided. Owning a family vehicle with a known safety defect and failing to provide a remedy for over 90 days is not acceptable business practice. The vehicle cannot fulfill the purpose for which it was purchased, and the ongoing financial obligation without a resolution is unreasonable. I am requesting either a buyback of the vehicle, including associated costs, or a replacement vehicle of comparable value. This issue has persisted for an excessive period of time without resolution and requires immediate corrective action. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
There has been a recall on my vehicle since October 7, 2025. Toyota has just sent me notification via mail the week of December 20, 2025. I drive 4 children and two of them are in the middle row (which is what the recall is about) in car seats. I have called the dealership many times and they are not doing anything to assist me. According to the recall, it states to not sit or use a child restraint in the second-row seats while the vehicle is moving until the remedy is performed---- the remedy isn't even available yet and hasn't been since October. So am I just not supposed to drive my kids to school and daycare?.
My 2025 Toyota Sienna is subject to safety recall 25ta12 involving suspect welds on second row seat rails. Toyota instructs that the second row seats not be used while the vehicle is in motion. No repair is available and no timeline has been provided. Toyota has not provided a viable interim solution. Toyota coordinated outreach to multiple dealerships, all of which confirmed they cannot provide a comparable vehicle or accommodation. Toyota’s only option is limited rental reimbursement, which does not restore equivalent seating capacity or function. As a result, I am forced to either stop using the vehicle for its intended purpose or continue operating a vehicle Toyota has identified as unsafe to use as designed. Toyota has acknowledged the defect but has not mitigated the safety risk.
Recall is not being addressed in a timely manner.
The contact owns a 2025 Toyota Sienna. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v668000 (seats). The contact had been in contact with a local dealer and was advised that the part was not yet available for the recall repair. The contact had called the manufacturer and was informed that the part to do the recall repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure.
Received recall notice on our van in oct 2025. The recall recommends that no one sit in or use a child restraint in the second row seats. This is not possible for my family. I have 3 children in car seats and the 3rd row does not fit all 3 car seats across. The reason I purchased my van was for the 3rd row accessibility. The recall went out in October and it is now December 2025 and there is still no remedy. 3 months on an important safety recall with no remedy is unacceptable.
We were notified of a safety recall in mid December but they officially released the recall in early October. I have contacted Toyota multiple times with no update. Our dealer has not been able to provide a car with the same amount of seats as our Toyota Sienna. We have been limited to a 5 seat vehicle when we purchased a 7 row seat vehicle.
See recall above. We just spent $55,000 on this vehicle in order to safely transport and travel with our two year old and newborn. The fact that Toyota does not have a remedy available for this major issue is completely unacceptable. The recall notice states that our only current "remedy" is to not use the second row seats, which is not feasible since child safety seats only safely install in the second row. This so called "remedy" is absolutely unreasonable, illogical and irrational. It essentially renders our $55,000 vehicle unusable, which constitutes a significant financial loss for my family. I am making a loss of use claim - Toyota's response that it does not have a remedy available now for such a significant safety problem is outrageous.
They stated the second row is not safe in a high speed collision because they could eject. I’ve been using a rental for 3 months with no end insight. They stated they would have a timeline by 12/6 but that has yet to happen. My car is sitting at the dealership out in the elements for the unforeseeable future.
The contact owns a 2025 Toyota Sienna. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v668000 (seats). The contact called the local dealer and the manufacturer for updates on parts availability and was advised by the dealer and the manufacturer that the remedy was still being developed. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure.
Second row seats are recalled in Sienna because of faulty welds on rails. Both the dealership and Toyota brand engagement center have not been able to help us. It had been 2. 5 months and there is no fix. Why is Toyota putting their manufacturing mistakes on their customers? the car is essentially not functional because we need the second row to fully fit our family in the car. Toyota mailed a recall notice for the first time and it was received yesterday (2. 5 months post recall). Toyota should have mailed this notice as soon as the recall was issued.
The contact owns a 2025 Toyota Sienna. The contact received a notification letter related to NHTSA campaign number: 25v668000 (seats). The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that parts were not yet available for the recall repair. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer provided a loaner vehicle that did not meet the needs of the contact. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact had not experienced a failure.
I am writing to formally document Toyota's failure to provide a reasonable and lawful solution following the safety recall and was advised by my attorney that Toyota does not yet have a remedy available. Despite this, Toyota has offered only a $42/day reimbursement for a compact rental vehicle, which is wholly inadequate and functionally useless for my family. Toyota is effectively forcing us to choose between: operating an unsafe vehicle with my children and unborn child paying hundreds to thousands of dollars out of pocket for appropriate transportation this is not a reasonable or lawful position. I also want to make clear that I am currently pregnant and due in April. The uncertainty surrounding this recall, the lack of a safe and appropriate vehicle, and the absence of a clear resolution timeline have caused significant and ongoing stress for me and my family during a medically sensitive time. Reliable and safe transportation is not optional for us - it is essential for prenatal care, medical appointments, and daily needs for our children. Being told that there is no timeline for a repair, while simultaneously being offered only an inadequate compact rental vehicle, places an unreasonable burden on our family and creates unnecessary anxiety during my pregnancy.
Toyota issued a recall on some 2025 Toyota Sienna’s. Our app notified us in October and we immediately took it to the dealership for a rental, as we were advised not to use the second row seats. We have to use those because we have 3 kids in car seats. The interim notice was not even mailed out until December. We were told they would start rolling out the fix for this issue in late December or January. It is now January, and there is no update on the recall and nobody can get any information from Toyota. Our car has been sitting for over three months at the dealership, undrivable. They are not offering any compensation for people affected by this recall. Since it has been out of service for that long, it should should be a lemon law qualification. We did not purchase a brand new car for it to sit there unusable. There does not seem to be any urgency on Toyota‘s part for this to be fixed. We have no updates or information and this does not seem to be a priority for them. There are 55,000 vehicles affected. This is a large number of people, and somebody needs to put some real pressure on Toyota to fix the problem. This is unacceptable and somebody needs to look into this further. Please pass this along and do something about it because this is not fair to those of us who in good faith are making our payments every month on a car that we are not able to use. It’s basically sitting there rotting while Toyota takes their sweet time to figure out how to fix it. I am extremely unhappy and am looking for some type of recourse. And I know I am not the only one as I am seeing posts about it on online daily, from unhappy customers. This recall is due to a safety issue, if it’s so unsafe, why aren’t they fixing it?.
We were notified by Toyota that the second row seat rails had incomplete welds. Toyota recommended no one ride in the second row, and no child car seats should be installed in the second row. This greatly impacts the use and safety of the vehicle for our family of five. Additionally, the value of the vehicle has been impacted. Dealerships are not willing to give fair value for a trade-in because they know the vehicle will sit on their lot for an unknown amount of time before the repair is available. At this time (now 60+ days since the recall was announced), Toyota has not released the remedy and there is no timeline for the completion of these repairs.
There is a recall from October 5 2025 regarding second row seats that are mounted on seat rails that may have been improperly welded. They recommend not to have anyone sit in that row or use child restraints. How is there no remedy at this time?? who can have their passengers sit in the third row and avoid sitting at the second row. This is negligence from Toyota and should have a remedy right away. We bought this car in March 2025 and have been driving our two boys around for several months until being notified of this recall! how can you expect someone not to use the second row seats for months without an answer particularly a minivan.
Nhtsa recall # 25v-668 Toyota recall # 25ta12 (interim notice: 25tb12) this is a major recall since October and Toyota is just trying to waste time and making it sound like a minor issue instead of providing an immediate solution. Not having second-row seats welded properly is a major safety issue! unfortunately, my brand new vehicle, bought in June, is involved in this major recall and Toyota is still forcing me to drive it with the defect. It has been almost 3 months since the recall and still no solution from Toyota. Since there is still no solution, Toyota should buy-back all affected vehicles and provide with the same make and model vehicle but without any issue, give chance to the owners to upgrade, or give the full money back to the owners.
The contact owns a 2025 Toyota Sienna. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v668000 (seats); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact also stated that the trunk failed to open using the fob key remote control or the interior trunk button. The contact needed to pull on the trunk door to open the trunk. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed the contact that an unknown part needed to be replaced, but the part was not available. The contact was also informed that the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

Driver side passenger 2 nd row seat belt stopped working. Won't clip as needed leaving us unable to use seat. This is a safety issue as we are not able to use the seat as needed as one is not able to strap in. This triggers the sensor and this a driving violation. Problem has been reported. Vehicle has been reported and still pending to be replaced. Unkown when issue can be resolved. Passenger seat on the second row was stuck upon purchase. Dealer made aware. They claimed a sock was stuck on railing which was not possible as issue was reported before they could schedule for vehicle to be inspected. Such sock did not exist when incident was reported. Sock was not purchased until day before taking vehicle to schedule appointment. Tension is still there but agency said it is working properly.
