Since I purchased the 2014 Toyota Tacoma in febuary 2017 ive had constant difulculty steering/turning the vehical wich is noticeably to hard/stiff for power steering in this truck. 3days after I purchased it,a man I know looked at it briefly & right off he notice that all 4 tires were excessively cracked between the treds all around each tire & cracking onto tred but cracks between the tred had places he showed me that were much to wide & deep leaving me,my child,& other drivers on the road in a highly unsafe matter. All four grandtrek dunlop brand/model tires are all cracked the same & rotting away. I called the dealership whom I got the truck from & they refused to replace the tires nor give me the Toyota warrenty information they said the truck was still covered over. Regardless, these tires are still defective & a huge safety threat.

After recall/ replacement of rear leaf springs, with new 5 leaf units, the truck sags under load, rides as rough w/o cargo compared to prior 3 leaf (thicker) set. The truck was not 4 wheel aligned to spec and Toyota is not verifying this done, the driveline has torsion wrap or jerky-shudder upon full stop now, as if damaged in the process. The truck with side winds and groves in the road immediately after this work and with two different new sets of michelins (changed the same day the suspension work was done), shifted off lane violently. Costco locally says I am the only one who complained about the tires so switched me to higher speed rated ones (but I do not drive at high speeds, I drive conservatively). A locally well regarded tire-alignment shop rechecked the alignment and found it was incorrect though merced Toyota insists it passed their "green" zone on what looked to be off-calibrated hunter machine. From the results of this machine, the service manager and mechanic both stated my truck's frame was damaged (so why bother with alignment?). This was subsequently checked by a body repair shop with proper equipment to be found to be within one dime's thickness different from rail to rail, I. E. No damage whatsoever. Toyota wants me to return to this faulty dealership even though there are two others w/ in 60 miles from merced CA. Toyota refuses to acknowledge the issue, refuses to pay for verifying the dealership's issues. I suspect the spring set used in this recall does not match my version of truck, a trd sport access cab which is 300 lbs more capable in springing if the charts are correct. All combined, the problems are not solved and the ride has become dangerous, one I have to constantly correct, one that follows the ruts in the road and is much much more dangerously sensitive to side wind gusts on the freeways + less load capacity.
I was driving on a highway at about 55 mph. The right lower control ball joint broke so the entire wheel broke off the vehicle. The vehicle tried to run/jump over the wheel and caused the vehicle to slammed down on the asphalt. The truck dragged on the asphalt for about 100 to 150 yds until I managed to control and stop it.
The contact owns a 2003 Toyota Tacoma. While driving approximately 20 to 25 mph and exiting a ramp, the rear of the vehicle swayed to the left, then back to the right, and turned 360 degrees. The back end of the vehicle bobbled, flipped over, crashed into trees, and landed on the driver side. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed and injuries were sustained that required medical attention. The rear driver side tire was flat. The tire was replaced and the vehicle was driven home and parked. The VIN was invalid. The approximate failure mileage was 158,000.

Wheel bearings and hub assembly: soon after I took my truck to a Toyota dealership to have the rear leaf springs replaced under a recall, the truck started riding rough and squeaking loudly as it was driven. I went back to the same dealership and they quoted me near $2,000 to replace. The truck seems to ride rougher with each passing day. The dealership said that the front wheel bearings were fine but both of the rear wheel bearings are bad and they further said that they normally replace the hub assembly with the wheel bearings and that was part of the reason for the high cost according to the service rep.
I have recently reached 25000 on my truck. In the last 6 months I have had 2 flats and 6 leaks. My tire now has a tear on the tread. I have been on city and highway roads primarily. Twice I got low tire only 3 days after going to the dealer for regular maintenance. I do not feel safe with these tires and I haul friends, family, and children frequently. The potential for a blowout or complete flat has been increasing. I do not like the risk and potential factor that I am relying on for these tire.

Have had two tires fail by tears in the bottom of the tread. These failures have been sudden and instantly flat while the vehicle was in motion. All other tiers are showing checking/cracking in the same manner as the failed ones. Bf goodrich has been no help so far. Will some one have to die before something is done?.

Changing a flat tire, the spare which has never been used was low on air, drove for less than 5 miles and parked later it was flat too. Dealer has done several multi point inspections, spare tires not on list. Dealer stole the hubcap during the mounting / installation.
I recently bought a 2015 Toyota Tacoma and straight off the back I noticed that the tired were not in good condition under specific circumstances. If there were some loose dirt or gravel on the road the tire would not grip causing me to slip for a split second. Ignoring the warning signs of my split second slips here and there I decided to go out in the rain with 4 wheel drive on. I felt confident because I have had many Tacoma's before and I trust Toyota. Low and behold I hydroplaned on an empty highway and crashed into the wall at 60 mph completely totaling my truck. Baffled by the incident I recounted my steps to see if I was at fault. Two hands on the wheel, gps on my phone, no car in sight and I'm the only one on the road. A little puddle on the highway almost cost me my life. I still love Toyota and I bought a 2016 Tacoma but I will say do not trust the 2015 stock Tacoma tires because it has no grip.

The contact stated that upon inspecting the vehicle, it was noticed that the frame was prematurely rusted to the point that the frame deteriorated with holes and may fracture. The vehicle was not diagnosed by a dealer nor a mechanic as of yet. The contact was also included in 2 recall notices but did not receive the information for NHTSA campaign numbers: 12v542000 (tires) and 05v225000 (suspension). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 300,000. Dyd.
Tl-the contact owns 2004 Toyota Tacoma. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 12v542000 (tires) however, the manufacturer and dealer refused to remedy the recall due to excessive corrosion of the vehicles sub frame. The contact stated that the vehicle received an anti-corrosion coating treatment prior to the recall notification. The contact was informed by the manufacturer that the anti-corrosion treatment was performed outside of the recall therefore nullifying the recall remedy to the lift plate for the spare tire. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 99,876. Djr.

Tacoma leaf springs broken and not supporting vehicle. Damaged and replaced shocks and alignment. Vehicle is unsafe due to recall and possible puncture of fuel tank due to defective leaf springs and can also sever the brake lines. Toyota is aware of voluntary recall but has refused to replace leaf springs even after admitting that the vehicle is not supported as required by leaf springs and that the shocks were overused to the point of failure and were replaced due to the lack of support. New shocks and everything except leaf springs installed yet Tacoma still bottoms out due to lack of proper leaf springs even with new equipment installed. Toyota customer assistance center notified and refused first request and second filed on 8/4/2015 with case number 1508031434 assigned. Level two agent peter again refused to replace know defective parts or honor recall after being informed that parts were available at both riverview Toyota. And earnhardt Toyota, both in mesa arizona. Both dealerships informed me that they are directed by the corporate customer assistance center to not replace any recall items without first getting approval regardless of the known dangers to both person and property, or that the part is broken and does not perform to actions of it's design. Toyota has been made aware of the damages, safety concerns, as well as lost time and costs ($993. 41in service repairs plus 5 lost use/work days to date), yet has refused to honor or abide by the requirements to replace the defective equipment.
It's the tires I bought. They bfgoodrich p255 70r 16 rugged ta. I experienced problems with them from the time of purchase. Sam's club moved the bad tires from the front to the back. I thought the problem was resolved, until the tires were rotated at the scheduled interval. The problem was back. The tires are still under warranty, but I'm getting the runaround from bfgoodrich on replacement. The tires are causing vibrations above 50mph. My vehicle's steering and related components checked out ok,rims have switched, tires balanced more than 10 times, with the same vibrating results. The tires have been checked out as faulty by a facility bfgoodrich sent me to. I'm getting the runaround from bfgoodrich about actually getting them replaced still.
The left front wheel bearing failed at about 72000 miles. A year later both rear tire bearings failed at about 77000 miles. In both instances I noted an abnormal low pitched rumbling sound coming from the wheels as I drove the vehicle. The need to replace three bearings on a vehicle that has less than 80,000 miles is clearly abnormal and suggest a manufacturing defect. No unusual loads or road travel was undertaken by this vehicle. This is a revised report for odi # 10746795.
The contact owns a 2002 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that when the vehicle was taken to the dealer (gerard Toyota located on 543 colman st, new london, CT 06320) for service, the technician noticed corrosion on the rear passenger side frame and a crack in the rear passenger wheel. The shocks could be seen and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 193,672.
I was at the local tire shop getting two tires installed and I noticed that the right rear of my vehicle was not level with the left. I asked that they do an alignment to even the vehicle out and they notified me that the frame was severly rusted. I was told that there was a campain recall on thi same issue and my VIN was in range. When I went to the dealership they notified me that there was another part of this recall, that they did not do, so my frame was not covered. I never received any notice of either recall. I sent a email to Toyota and they called back with the same responce "you never did the ani-corrosion part of the recall so you do not qualify". I have heard of countless persons in my area that have just purchased the same age vehicle and had frame rust that got there vehicles repaired. If there is an issue with or without this corrosion spray why are only certain vehicles covered. This spray does not work and this seems like a way to get around repairing vehicles. Not to mention I never received any recall notices and they have no record of what adress the recall was even sent to.

On date of service I was informed by advisor nico paez that all 24 wheel fasteners (lugs) holding on the wheel studs did not have ample threads. I was escorted to service area of my vehicle and saw what he was describing to me. It was the wrong lugs nuts installed. There was no enough ample threads to tighten the lugs to the wheel studs 1-3 threads definitely not to vehicle specification to maintain the tires on for safe driving, it could have cause the tires rip off and apart. My life was in there hands and Toyota could care less about my safety and safety of others had the wheels come off. Photo's was taken by me and the wrong lug nuts was offered back to me. The truck was purchase at lugoff Toyota in south carolina on 08/23/13 the first service was done at dick dyer Toyota in SC on 05/07/14 my service copy under labor and parts shows tire rotations. If in fact this service was done it would have been notice by dick dyer Toyota on 05/07/14 this issue was brought to the attention of the service manager brian murray. I was told to take the truck back to where I purchase it. They couldn't do anything about this problem.

This Toyota Tacoma slid downgrade on black ice and there was no airbag deployment despite an end-for-end, backwards, downhill flip initiated at 40 mph, that caused the full weight of the vehicle to impact on the front bumper, dislocating all front bumper attachments from the front crossmember of the vehicle's frame. This vehicle is at a salvage yard awaiting action by the insurance carrier, per thomas fitzsimmons, claim representative, at (304) 348-6209.
