The anti-collision system / automatic braking system engages, even when turned off. This is a major safety hazard and nearly got me into an accident. With the acs disengaged, poking the front end of the vehicle out into oncoming traffic while trying to merge, the vehicle locks up completely, disabling the vehicle, rendering it a sitting duck in oncoming traffic.
I have had an issue several times which nearly resulted in a traffic accident. The truck has a sudden loss of acceleration where the gas pedal is completely dead. It last a few seconds and then goes back to normal. This has nearly caused several accidents where I could not properly accelerate while traffic was heading in my direction. After talking with other Tundra owners, I am not the only one with this issue. This needs immediate attention. If it is not fixed as soon as possible, I fear that someone will get seriously injured or killed. Please take this matter seriously. I suspect it may have something to do with the pre collision sensor system on the truck. It seems that it happens when there is a slight grade or dip in the road. Perhaps the sensors are at a lower angle due to the dip, making it think there is an object it will hit. The Toyota service centers don’t appear to know why this is happening and cannot reproduce the issue in a short visit.

Cherokee county Toyota sold me a truck that has consistently had recalls. Brake lights not working, back up camera not working, media console not working, evaportating coolant. I took it to cherokee county Toyota several times with zero issues resolved. I then left them a negative review on google due to their lack of professionalism and honesty. They then sent me a text stating they refused to fix any of the safety recalls at their dealership due to the negative google review that they fully deserved. A vehicle without brake lights and cameras is a safety hazard. I explained that my children ride in this vehicle and it put my whole family at risk and they needed to service it. They still refused. Multiple calls to service managers, sales manager. Nobody ever called me back. This dealership should not be allowed to sell vehicles that have known consistent safety issues and then refuse to fix them.

I experience delayed throttle response and throttle lag daily. Acceleration is unpredictable. The vehicle barely moves in some cases when pressing the gas pedal. Other times, the tires will chirp. The vehicle will sometimes hesitate so long to accelerate, that I've almost been t-boned and I've held up traffic. It seems like the truck thinks I'm going to run into something, even when there's nothing in front of me. The delay is sometimes 3-5 seconds before it will allow any acceleration. This seems like a huge safety issue, not being able to get out of the way of oncoming traffic and having such an unpredictable, and often delayed throttle response.

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? multiple safety systems failed simultaneously, including: srs airbag system pre-collision system vehicle stability control (vsc/trac) advanced ultrasonic/sonar system the engine is also subject to safety recall 25ta14 (potential loss of motive power). The vehicle is currently located at crown Toyota in ontario, CA and is fully available for inspection. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I was driving on the 60 freeway with my two small children when all of these safety systems failed at the same time. The truck also began pulling to the right and hesitating during acceleration. With the airbag system, pre-collision system, and stability control disabled, our safety was seriously at risk, especially at freeway speeds. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes. Crown Toyota advised me not to drive the vehicle and instructed me to have it towed immediately as an emergency. They confirmed the warnings and safety alerts. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? the vehicle was inspected by crown Toyota service technicians. They noted the safety system malfunctions and the active engine recall. Toyota corporate has opened a repurchase case: #251118002114. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? yes. While driving, the dashboard displayed multiple malfunction warnings: airbag malfunction pre-collision system malfunction vehicle stability control malfunction sonar system malfunction the “contact dealer immediately” message also appeared. These warnings first appeared on November 13, 2025, while I was on the freeway.
At low outdoor ( or less)temperatures, safety feature remain off line. Side mirrors squeak during actuation open or close. Plastic modeling cracked on driver seat, tail gate stays open and doesn't reset without manually closing the tailgate by hand.
On August 31, 2025, my 2025 Toyota Tundra experienced a sudden steering failure while I was driving, which caused an accident with a parked vehicle. The steering wheel completely seized up and I was unable to control the vehicle. This was a serious safety hazard that put my life and the lives of others on the road at risk. The vehicle showed warning messages and error codes related to the steering system immediately before and after the crash. The problem was unexpected and there was no prior damage to the vehicle that would explain this. The vehicle is currently at a Toyota dealership, where the dealer has confirmed that the inspection has been submitted to Toyota corporate for review. My insurance company has also inspected the vehicle. At this time, Toyota has not provided me with a resolution. This appears to be a manufacturer defect in the steering system. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
Upon starting the vehicle on 8/6/2025 I received multiple warnings: advanced ultrasonic detecting and ranging system malfunction, pre-collision system malfunction, parking brake system malfunction, check engine ecm malfunction, vehicle stability control system malfunction secondary collison brake system malfunction, it now take almost a mile on level ground to reach 45 mph. This occurred without warning. The vehicle was ok the day before when I parked it.
Keep getting the messages "trailer brake error, if towing come to a stop with manual controls" and "pre-collision system malfunction" the messages go away usually after restarting the vehicle but eventually comes back on.

Hit a deer going 53mph, and the air bags did not deploy. Truck dashboard said that air bags were deploying, and then that they had deployed, but the air bags never deployed. The emergency braking and collision warning system all worked fine.
Having fuel pump issue. Car stalls very badly and pre collision light and engine lights start flashing. Severe jumping by car driving down the road. When accelerating the car has no acceleration and hesitates very badly.
Lta feature engaged out of nowhere and my dashboard lit up with red, green and yellow warnings all at once and made my truck swerve back and forth and prevented me from having any control and steered me directly into oncoming traffic almost causing me to have a head on collision. Also the brakes automatically come on out of nowhere for no reason and has almost given me whiplash. I just had major neck surgery with plates and screws put in my cervical spine and if this keeps happening I'm going to need another surgery.

The lens on the forward facing camera in the front grill cracked making the camera useless and in need of replacement. I first noticed the problem about a year ago. It is available for inspection. I can't see any damage around the camera that would have been caused by an object hitting the front of the truck which leads me to believe that the camera lens cracked because of a defect. The camera has not been inspected by the dealer however I have gotten a replacement estimate at the dealer.
All the cameras for parking and the driving lane assist failed while raining, the screen turned all green and started glitching, next day the truck was fine and this is the 3rd time, never got in an accident.
There was three warning light showing malfunction collision warning and I tried to to dealership and they said nothing is wrong.
Pre collision warning has erroneously activated numerous (>10) times on the same section of roadway. No other vehicles, pedestrians or animals were present on roadway.

The cover on the passenger side mirror has a cover with a camera attached that keeps flying off on highways. Last time it came detached from the vehicle and tripped my collision control sending my vehicle into an emergency stop for no reason. I had no warning that this was going to come off nor should I expect body panels to fly off my vehicle. I have expressed this to Toyota and showed evidence of this being a well documented issue with other customers and they are still denying responsibility for this. My vehicle has never been in an accident and this part has never been tampered with. The dealer even feels this is a quality issue with Toyota and tried to help and was unsuccessful.
The pre collision system malfunction - visit dealer warning light came on 11/15/23 diagnosed by dealer on 11/23/23 as "pre collision radar sensor is not good" cost paid to diagnose the problem $412. 53 estimated cost to replace the sensor and recalibrate the system $1,112. 40 total cost $1,524. 93 this part should be recalled as it has negatively effected the safety of over 500,000 vehicles. It should be fixed free of charge as stated by the manufacturer in its letter sent out to dealers under the special service campaign kob (remedy notice).

The issue is with the auto-braking or pre collision system. Have had multiple instances where system has engaged at low speed which also engaged the auto engine stop feature when it was not necessary. Have noticed system engages on roads with curves where it thinks the vehicle in the other lane is in front of me when its not. The most unsafe thing that happened was when a vehicle quickly changed lanes in front of me and slowed slightly. I saw the other vehicle make the unsafe lane change and was covering the brake and when I pressed the brake it went out from under my foot braking hard on its own when it was not necessary. Vehicle slowed from 65 to about 35 quickly almost causing vehicle behind me to rear end me with no way to stop the system. Since I have owned this vehicle auto brake system has engaged about 5 times and all were not necessary or unsafe. I have lowered sensitivity setting and still have the issue, and am unable to disable system.
Ibc errors while towing. Serious safety issue.
The pre-collision does not work at all.
The electrical system malfunctioned, causing all warning lamps on the dashboard to light up. Because this happened while I was driving, I do believe that this electrical issue caused safety concerns for others on the road. The taillights went out first, seconds later, all remaining electrical failed at once, including airbags, windows, headlights at one point, pre collision warning lights, lane departure, and the breaking system failed as well. This caused safety concerns for myself, my passenger, as well as the public because all safety warning sensors failed at once while on the road. The problem has been confirmed by roseville Toyota, who is a manufacturer, and who currently has the vehicle now, they said that there is definitely an electrical issue and most likely a short of some sort. The warning lamps and messages on the dash lit up one at a time, seconds apart from each other, until the entire dash was lit up completely while I was driving on March 24, 2023.
I can’t drive to back only to the from. When I did to back I listen is stocked.

Pcs abs 4lo 4hi brake abs bsm traction control rcta warning triangle christmas tree started. Along with the precollision system malfunction, drive start control malfunction, blind spot monitor malfuntion, rear cross traffic alert, and trailer brake error massages.
This has happened twice now. 1st occurs on the DC beltway in va hov lanes, outer loop just past tysons corner while going 70+ mph in the lane with no vehicles around the collision warning system and break automatically alerted , sensor indicated and dash board flashed break. It resolved on its own. This was in August on a hot sunny day, no rain, no fog. The second occurrence just happened two weeks ago. It was sunny, 55-65 degrees, 35-49 pmh approx 3 vehicles back while turning south from rote 27 in mount airy maryland onto penn shop road, the vehicle did the same thing. Indicated I was going to crash, applied the breaks automatically and almost caused an accident with a vehicle traveling behind me. First time I thought was a fluke- second time- no. Will be sending to dealer. Vehicle has less than 25k. 2020, calvary blue, 4x4, shortened, crew max.

While driving, multiple warning lights come on and multiple warnings scroll on the dash. Transmission shifting becomes irregular, hard, slipping, pre-collision alert fails, adaptive cruise control fails, abs system deactivates. I know of this occurring on multiple other Toyota vehicles as well. This has happened three times and only resolves when battery is disconnected. Weeks or months goes by and it recurs.
All of a sudden the pre-collision system malfunctions and stops working and the lights go on in the dashboard and then causes the cruse control to stop working as well. I took it to Toyota and they stated they did not know what the cause of it would be.
Pre collison warning system has turned itself off in the rain and states visit dealer for service. Never logs data and on when you get to dealer. Same system has also flash "brake" on the highway at 65 mph when a dry sunny day and no cars around. I am worried it may actually brake by accident causing loss of control. Went to dealer on both occasions and because it doesn't log the data there was nothing they could do. Did my own research and there was a technical service bulletin for certain vins (not mine) to "repair" this module behind the grill. It was done to my truck but not by my dealership before I took ownership. It should not have been done and route 44 Toyota just did nothing. I asked for a replacement and they wouldn't because there wasn't any codes listed to warrant it because the TSB wasn't for my truck even though someone did it. On their TSB it recommends replacement for my current issues but they wouldn't do it.
