The contact stated that the first time he noticed the crack was ten days after the vehicle was purchased. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the windshield was replaced however, the contact stated that the second time his wife was seated on the passenger side when she noticed that the windshield started to crack. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the dealer had taken photos of the windshield and sent them to the manufacturer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened and the contact was advised to contact the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 11,500.
