1 Equipment problem of the 2015 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 08/17/2022

The clock spring on this vehicle is defective. Airbag light is on, all steering wheel buttons/controls no longer work and the horn no longer works. Online research shows this to be a known issue for this model year and beyond. Additionally, there was a recall for this exact problem for the previous model year. Further research found the following NHTSA document https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/tsbs/2018/mc-10149942-9999. Pdf as a limited warranty extension that includes this model year. However, dealer service and Volkswagen customer service have no knowledge of this limited warranty update and or that this vehicle VIN is not included. This has now made this vehicle unsafe to drive without working air bags.

Rearview video systems does not work. More commonly known as backup cameras, this technology helps the driver see behind the vehicle to avoid backing over people when moving in reverse. From long running forums it seem to be a long running problem. Customer take there cars in only to find the dealers can't fix them.

9 Equipment problem of the 2011 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 03/16/2019

I was leaving the store when I noticed my vehicular wouldn't go over 30 mph. I pulled into another store to assess the situation. When I turned my car back on and was attempting to leave my car stopped working. I had it towed to the shop and they advised me to call Volkswagen because this issues was likely covered under a warranty. I called volkeswagen and they said my warranty would cover it up to 120k miles and to take it to the local dealership. I had the car towed again to the dealership and they informed me that the timing chain was broken and they said my warranty just expired at 100k miles. My car has 108k miles. After doing a lot of research I found this to be a frequent problem with this manufacture. I also found that there was already a class action lawsuit but my vehicle wasn't in the peramiters because of the mileage (ends at 100k). I never received notice of the recall or I would have taken it in to get looked at before the 100k mike cutoff. Because they said this wasn't covered in the warranty, I looked into buying another car from them. They informed me that they could give me $250 for my vehicle. Now I know Volkswagen is trying to avoid paying for this because they know they can make money.

10 Equipment problem of the 2012 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 03/15/2019

The 2. 0t tsi engine was made with a faulty timing chain tensioner which will fail and cause the timing chain to break causing immediate catastrophic engine damage putting the driver and occupants in danger because of loss of power and difficulty steering. I am extremely blessed that I noticed the car was acting funny and exited off the highway. It's ridiculous to me how the timing chain could cause that much damage to the engine. The engine obviously has been created with a faulty design, so now I'm expected to pay to replace a faulty engine with another faulty engine. It's extremely upsetting that after I sent my vehicle in for issues with a recall, fuel pump, that my vehicle would just self destruct like this.

11 Equipment problem of the 2012 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 12/24/2018

When vehicle is in motion there has been multiple times I came close to getting in an accident due to being unable to use my horn. My horn and controls not work due to the clock spring harness. The vw clock spring warranty will not cover the fix due to my airbag light not being on yet. My horn not working alone is a safety issue and they refuse to see it that way.

12 Equipment problem of the 2012 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 10/17/2018

Hood latch prevents hood from opening. Vw knows this problem is a manufacturing defect and they refuse to repair it without a charge of $250 including the part. The cooling system has a error light glowing when there is no problem. The warning system shows various parts as malfunctroning but appears the diagnostic module is at fault.

13 Equipment problem of the 2010 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 08/29/2018

Vehicle was serviced at 180k by vw dealership; a premium service was selected; engine light came on as I was taking it in; the vehicle previously did turn off while on the highway on its own which then needed to be restarted. The car jerked as if my spark plugs were having issues. Have had to change spark plugs frequently compared to normal wear and tear. I was told it was the air/cam sensor (as a recommendation from the dealership) the car had been running sluggish but normal prior to it getting serviced. The car was ready for pick up and engine light was cleared. Car was driven about 35mi from dealership to place of residence. Car performed normal. Next day went to turn on the vehicle and it would not start. It did start long enough that I could use my own code reader the vehicle had 15 errors according to the reader. I let the car sit for a month before I could tow it to the dealership where it was serviced. Vw is now saying they don't know what is wrong with the vehicle. Camshaft is what they are looking at . Another possibility vw explains is massive engine failure.

14 Equipment problem of the 2016 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 08/01/2018

Back up camera does not deploy (intermittent) after use, the back up camera will occasionally display "park pilot is currently not available". My vehicle is not equipped with the park pilot option. This disables the back up camera until the vehicle is turned off completely and the system is reset. I believe this creates a safety hazard, as the functionality of the camera may not be available during a street maneuver, such as parallel parking when the system is unusable the fault is intermittent and does not appear to follow any pattern. Other than occurring after using the camera to reverse.

15 Equipment problem of the 2010 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 07/27/2018

Mechatronic unit vehicle in motion on city street driving approximately 40 mph seemed as though car dropped gear, automatically dropped to 10mph, tried to accelerate, but engine revved and wouldn't increase speed. Check engine light appeared and d (for drive) began flashing on screen, pulled over, shut car off and waited. Was able to restart and drive 2blicks to dealership with d light still flashing. Dealership recreated issue and diagnosed the mechatronic unit which had previously been recalled on other dsg transmissions in the past. (2007-2009) was told my car was manufactured June of 2009, but that model hadn't been recalled. This could have killed me if I was on the interstate driving faster. I am concerned for others safety if the car can just stall out while in motion. Car has 112,000 miles, but the transmission only has 80k.

16 Equipment problem of the 2013 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 06/01/2018

Something in the front left when I get speed over 55 miles.

17 Equipment problem of the 2012 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 05/21/2018

The trunk stopped working along with the fog lights and reverse lights on the trunk. It appears to have been happening many Cc and is a manufacturing design is faulty. Hoping that other are reporting the flaw too.

18 Equipment problem of the 2011 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 04/20/2018

My car shut down while I was driving the car had fuel and wasn't able to register there was fuel in the car and was told it was the throttle body and that my converter went bad. It had all the signs of a fuel component problem. I am told the converter and throttle body damage can be directly from the fuel pump issues.

19 Equipment problem of the 2012 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 04/16/2018

Faulty clock spring causing horn and steering wheel controls not to work. The main concern is the fact that my horn never works. When in daily traffic where I am constantly having to honk my horn to prevent someone from hitting me, my life is at risk with this well known vw issue.

20 Equipment problem of the 2010 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 03/28/2018

I just recently bought my very 1st. Used 2010 Volkswagen Cc. After I bought it, I realized that the master window switch on the drivers side doesn't work. The car is showing only 45,000 miles on it. So I would have to reach over to the passenger side door, to get the window to roll up. Also, my heater isn't working. I hear the fan running at different speeds, but only coolair coming out. On top of that, the fabric on the headliner is coming down. I found out that in order to replace the headliner, you have to get the front windshield removed to get the headliner out. Ridiculous! car manufacturers have been around for many years. Car have got faster and safer throughout the years, but the headliners still fall down. It's not acceptable! use better adhesive, better material. Take more pride in your product.

21 Equipment problem of the 2015 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 01/11/2018

We purchased the Cc in April of 2016, and we have had to take the car in twice for the clock spring which in located in the steering wheel this causies the horn to malfunction and not work. I'm not sure what happened when this occurred the first time but the second time this occurred I was leaving home and started the vehicle and when I turned the wheel it made a weird noise(I was backing out of the garage) I knew immediately what was wrong because this happened previous and I checked the horn and it was no longer working.

22 Equipment problem of the 2010 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 01/03/2018

The car seem have a problem in revers when I use in backwards I can feel in the shift (hold 4 seconds to work and make a jump after) and when I was driving in 35mph the car was frozen .

23 Equipment problem of the 2010 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 12/31/2017

Car wouldn't go over 40. Having hard time going and notice leak under the front of the car. Took to the dealer said I need a new water pump. Idk if that was the car would go over 40 and have hard time driving. I was driving city street. Having to stop for red liights.

24 Equipment problem of the 2013 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 12/12/2017

While traveling on the freeway in san diego, my car started shaking and losing power. Then the epc & check engine lights turned on, on the dashboard. I was barely able to pull over to the shoulder, and drive off the upcoming exit ramp. I lost total engine power, and I had to call the towing truck to take me to the closest dealership, as the car is still under warranty. I waited 5 hours to find out what was happening, as I live in another city. The dealership technician told me that they recorded several piston misfires, but after resetting the computer, the faults never came back. Their internal policy required the fault to be present for the company to comply to replace faulty parts, even when they had the records. They told me they could not help me, and advised to take the car and drive it to the dealership where I lived. I did so, and I got the same response from my local dealership. They told me they would not help me due to internal policies, and that I should drive the car as is, until the issue came up again. I explained this could put me & my family at risk of injury, even possible death due to a highway accident, not to mention the cost I could incur for another tow truck & hotel expenses. They declined to replace the parts, even after I opened a case with their customer support manager. I explained I would have to seek legal advice as I felt I was being a victim of fraud by wv company. The local dealership not only not fixed my problem, but he charged me with a check-up fee. I could not be more dissapointed at this company.

25 Equipment problem of the 2011 Volkswagen CC

27 Equipment problem of the 2009 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 10/17/2017

Exploding sunroof. Driving on the freeway, I head a sound that sounded like a gunshot. I looked around and noticed my sunscreen for the sunroof had jumped open and saw a hole in my sunroof and the whole thing was shattered. I slowly exited the freeway and drove home holding the sunscreen in place so as not to have glass fall on me, I called my insurance company and brought it to the glass repair shop they designated for repair.

28 Equipment problem of the 2009 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 10/01/2017

I received information dated October 2017 from Volkswagen of America, inc. 3800 hamlin road auburn hills, mi 48326 with a recall notice for my vehicle NHTSA: 17v509 stating under specific operating conditions, an interruption in the electrical power supply to the fuel pump control module can result in fuel pump failure and lead to a loss of vehicle motive power while driving (vehicle stall). This condition can also cause the fuel pump to run continuously, resulting in a drained vehicle battery and/or a no-start condition. this means an engine can stall while driving and can increase the risk of a vehicle crash. This is very alarming to me, and I am concerned about my safety along with my infant son who is a passenger in my car daily. I have called 2 local vw dealerships (dorschel & ide Volkswagen) in rochester, NY and have been notified multiple times that there is no fix at the moment. I owe over $10,000 on this vehicle currently and have limited income so I have no choice but to keep this vehicle and drive it. I have had multiple issues with this car and several recalls. I have put over $2,200 in repairs on this car in the last 4 months for defective sensors and wiring. This new recall can directly cause a deadly accident and I am at a lost for words!.

29 Equipment problem of the 2009 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 09/28/2017

On September 16, 2017, my wife was driving our Volkswagen Cc luxury 2009, and it lost power while in motion, she crashed into a dresser in our garage and and damaged the drywall of our home. We called our insurance because we just had purchased this car on labor day 2017, from the Audi dealership in lakeland, FL, and during the claim we found out that this open recall had not been fixed. So I contacted the Audi dealership and they retrieved with a promise to have it fixed at the vw dealership in lake land florida, since this was the manufacturers dealership. Well today I was told by the Audi dealership that the vw dealership located on 209 s lake parker avenue, lake land, FL 33801said the NHTSA website recall was wrong and there is no recall for the vehicle so they cannot fix a vehicle without an active recall. I emailed the Audi dealership documents from your website about the recall and yet they claim the vw dealership will not fix the vehicle. I have attached a copy of the recall from your website, please let me know what my next steps should be. My wife and I have not vehicle for the last week, it is now with the Audi dealership in lakeland FL. 1recalls associated with this VIN Aug 16,2017 manufacturer recall number20ae NHTSA recall number17v509 recall statusrecall incomplete, remedy not yet available summary on certain vehicles, there could be an interruption in electrical power to the fuel pump control module. 33 Equipment problem of the 2010 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 09/09/2017

I have a 2010 Volkswagen Cc sport with a little more than 91872 miles on it. I was accelerating on the highway and my vehicle began to sputter. The epc light and the check engine warning light came one. My vehicle has had sluggish acceleration since then. I have noticed that this problem has occurred with several Volkswagen owners. There seems to be several different options when it comes to repairing this problem. The only thing that seems to be common is that it occurred when accelerating. The other thing that I have noticed is that this problem is not specific to one vehicle in the Volkswagen line up. This is definitely a manufacturers safety defect in their system that needs to be corrected before it causes an accident. I am aware of NHTSA recall number17v509 (manufacturer recall number20ae). This recall is for the fuel pump module which could result in a no start condition or a loss of motive power while the vehicle is in motion. The epc warning light has the same safety risk as this recall. This could result in a loss of motive power while the vehicle is in motion could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
