My 2010 vw Eos is very flawed. It will sometimes run perfectly and other times even right in heavy traffic the transmission will slip out of gear into neutral and won't re engage. Sometimes right in the middle of an intersection or just trying to pull out somewhere. Extremely dangerous!!!!!.

Dsg transmission failure. Had abs module recall done at dealer. Picked up vehicle, drove two blocks, car would not shift out of second gear. Went back to dealer, they scanned it, and it showed 36 prior faults with transmission. Prior to this it has never shown a code/check engine light prior to know. Is now out of warranty - vw says too bad for you.

The vehicle slips out of gear without warning. Has automatic transmission. Engine dash light and anti-swerve slights come on but engine continues to run and rev. Turning off car and restarting will usually restore operation until next episode. The dealer checked all wiring and replaced selector lever module for $1901 but the problem persists. Dealer has had car for an additional week and is stumped. Now waiting for technical advice from vw. As is the vehicle can not be operated safely on the streets or especially the highway due to sudden loss of propulsion.

I was on the highway after my car had been sitting all day for work after about 20 miles of driving at about 65-70 mph the car suddenly shifted out of gear and red lined for a few seconds until I realized I had the cruise set. Once I got that turned off the car then shifted back into first gear automatically and jerked horribly trying to slow itself down. So thankful truckers where not behind me! I shifted the car into neutral and got it to the side of the road. After a very costly transport back to the dealer due to me working out of town the service team informed me the mechatronic unit was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle is an 2007 with the 2. 0t and 96,000 miles on the odo. Vw now claims this model isn't under any extended warranty and that my claim would be denied. Now I am forced to figure out a $2,500 repair.
