Air Bag Light On Problems of Volkswagen GTI

Put my key into the ignition and recieved, "error: airbag" now my airbag light is on and I didnt do anything to my electrical or airbag system.

I bought my car with 29,000 miles and now has 41,000. . My airbag light randomly comes on and flashes and on passenger seat. . . Even when no one is in seat . . . Volkswagen won't fix it even though I first complained to them car only had 31,000 miles and again at 35,000 miles. . .

Takata recall 2010 volskwagen Gti did not fall under the takata recall VIN numbers, however my front left airbag is needing a complete replacement. The airbag service indicator light came on when I started my vehicle up in the driveway. It was brough to a mechanic checked the issue. It was found with the following fault code: "code b10001b, drive airbag igniter resistance too high // inspect plug" though the same exact make/model/year of my vehicle fall under the takata recall I was told by Volkswagen that my vehicle's VIN did not fall under the recall. I find it unlikely that a vehicle made just a few days after mine could fall under this recall, but mine does not. I have an example of this airbag from takata failing, but am expected to pay for the repair myself.

The clock spring in my steering wheel has broken/quit working, Volkswagen refuses to replace it under the recall because my VIN number was not flagged during the recall, the airbag light, abs light, brake light, and traction control light are all on, my mechanic diagnosed it to be the clock spring causing the issue.

Airbag fault indicator is erroneously present. Now the airbags are not active even with passengers onboard. Dealership us asking me to pay the 55 dollars to get the light reset for the airbags to work.

The airbag warning indicator light in the instrument cluster illuminated and stayed on. The driver's seatbelt buckle part (1y1858471g - "fcn buckle") had failed. This part also failed 7/06 at 45,900 miles along with the comparable part for the passenger's seat. The airbag system is inoperative when this part does not function. In 8/06 vw made a partial, goodwill warranty adjustment.

Air bag light and symbol light is on with an internal code stored. Uncertain if air bag will deploy; possible electrical problem. Contacted Volkswagen after finding several hundred + people complaing of similar problem. People are still having problems and the estimated repair cost noted from several posts indicate that it is an $1800+ repair, there should have been and needs to be a recall on all 2006 Volkswagen air bag fault light issues to make certain that air bag will deploy if vehicle is in an accident. Vw representative told me that the air bag "may" or "may not" deploy. How many how many injuries or fatalities have to occur before you make them take action? my son drives this occassionally and I am concerned about his safety. No parent should have to bury a child. I am the second owner of the vechile and it had and still has extremely low milage and has never been in an accident or sustained damage of any type. The airbag light on my 2004 vw Gti 1. 8t has come on for absolutely no reason. I have had the car scanned with proper equipment, scanned the ecu, found no codes, cleared the codes and the light continues to reappear.

I have a 2006 va Gti new body style since I purchased the vehicle, it has been giving me problems. The airbag light has been going off. Car has been at dealer for repair more then 7 times and problem is still not fixed.
