1 Transmission Not Engage problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2014

When the dsg transmission shifts from 2nd to 3rd it does not engage, the rpm gauge almost redlines, then when it engages to 3rd it jerks and the wheels pill out, this is very dangerous and life threatening to me especially since this is my only vehicle I have to get to work! Volkswagen will not fix my vehicle because they said the dsg transmission is sealed. I would like Volkswagen healed responsible for manufacturing an inferior product and selling it to americans putting me in danger. I would like your attorneys to file a class action lawsuit against vw for 1 billion dollars on behalf of the american people, I believe that will make them up, you all have a blessed day and don't buy a Volkswagen.

2 Transmission Not Engage problem

The contact owns a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated while driving 70 mph the transmission disengaged and the vehicle would not accelerate. The transmission position lights were illuminated. The failure recurred numerous times. A dealer was notified of the symptoms and stated they knew the cause of failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 146,000.

3 Transmission Not Engage problem

Failure Date: 09/25/2010

2006 vw Jetta with dsg transmission. Vehicle lurched and lost power as if gas had been switched off or transmission was unexpectedly disengaged from engine. This occurred on very hot day, 100+ degrees, while driving on the interstate. Vehicle regained power 2-3 seconds after loss. This happened 4 to 5 times on a 400 mile drive. One time occurred while passing and forced me to take action and cancel my pass of the slower moving vehicle. This has occurred in the past but it was only on a very hot drive about a year or two ago.

4 Transmission Not Engage problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2006

2006 vw Jetta tdi (turbodeisel) with dsg transmission: when car is parked on inclined surface with front end lower than rear end, car will not smoothly engage reverse gear. Vehicle transmission will either not engage reverse gear at all, or without any warning will abruptly engage and catapult vehicle in reverse 4 to 5 feet even when gradually increasing engine revs. This is dangerous safety issue when backing out into parking lot lanes with oncoming traffic. Also, vehicle continues to roll forward or reverse approximately 6 inches depending on incline when placed in park position and after brake released.
