Components failed, nitrogen oxide sensor, codes p2201 nox sensor "circut" bank 1 p20ee nox catalytic reduction p205b reductant tank temperature " circut" implausible signal.

2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2025

There has been an excessive oil consumption in this vehicle , and reading other reports there maybe an issue, also this vehicle has been part of several recalls previously and I am concerned and I don’t feel safe to drive it . I would like for vw to inspect the car free of charge for this particular issue.

3 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/04/2024

Unknown. I was driving down the interstate and car just lost power and wouldn’t get no gas. Got it to the side of the road and it wouldn’t crank back up. Took it to shop and the mechanic stated motor need to be replaced.

4 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2024

Manager fabio at the pompano Volkswagen service indicated over the phone and in email that the vehicle is safe to drive however on the Volkswagen webpage it indicated it’s not safe to drive. I have not had the recall repair performed cause the same local vw refuses to provide a loaner for the time being repaired. This dealership poses a serious risk for drivers and consumers cause they are misinforming the public. I contacted Volkswagen care and spoke to lisa which she was pretty incompetent to resolve the issue.

5 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/29/2024

I have been trying to fix my car from the recalls two of them that they have currently for my car for which I need a temporary card while the repairs are being completed and Volkswagen in pompano with the manager, fabio have refused to assist me with this issue the recall is none of my issues is there company issues? they should be responsible for it and provide a temporary car while the car is being in service for those recalls. In this way, Volkswagen has refused to repair those service calls.

6 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2024

My heater core for this vehicle is malfunctioning. This is making my heat not work, which in the middle of the winter can be problematic to my health and the health of my passengers. Vw issued a recall on the diesel version of my car, which is gas, but did not extend to the gas version.

7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2024

Heater core failure have had the heater core replaced 2 times at a dealership and have had it worked on at other dealerships the heater core is a know problem with this Volkswagen model due to the block being casted in sand and not being cleaned out properly this problem with the heater core is a issue I think needs to be addressed and poses a serious problem for people who live in states with freezing even negative temperatures like I do (iowa) the repair cost of the heater core is thousands of dollars.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/04/2024

I'm having issues with the heat in my vehicle. There is no heat on the passenger side which also affects the visibility of seeing out the windshield because the defroster does not function properly. The original owner replaced the heater core somewhere around 40-45000 miles. I have owned 2 other vehicles of this model and had the same issue on everyone of them where the heater core was replaced. . This is more than a inconvenience it is a potential hazard not being able to see when the windshield is frosted or fogged up. It is a poor design and this needs to be addressed and investigated further. It's a bad time of year to have an equipment failure like this. There was no accident or incident but there is a potential hazard waiting to happen.

9 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/13/2023

Hi , my 2014 Passat driven by a family member struck a parked truck. Luckily, nobody was hurt! the parked car was not occupied and the driver of the Passat was able to exit the vehicle unharmed. The speed was about 35 mph and the air bags deployed. This front collision resulted in a major fire that totally destroyed the car. The insurance company (progressive) is currently in the possession of the car. And one other important thing to note is that, about 2 years ago, this car was also involved in a different accident when it reared a car. That collision did not result in the deployment of the air bags but caused lots of damage. The radiator and lots of the plastic in the front needed replacement at that time. I don't recall the exact amount for the damage, but we ended up paying the full 2k deductible to get the car back.

10 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/03/2022

Car started to stall, the spark plugs, injectors, sensors all replaced. I go to pickup the car on three different occasions and it won't go 1/10 of a mile without stalling and refuses to start. The garage I was dealing with refuses to work on it any more. I think this seems to be a common problem with the 2014 Passats, but I don't see where anyone's has been fixed. The stalling has happened on multiple dates. Now it's at a garage and can't even get it to dealer and have already spent over 1000. 00.

11 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/20/2022

Check engine comes on 2014 vw Passat tdi 68,000 miles. Dealer code shows nox sensor is bad. This car is covered through 2024 and 120000 miles by vw extended emissions warranty due to diesel emissions fraud settlement with us government. Vw refusing to honor warranty and make repair.

12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/23/2022

Airbag clock spring has broken but part is unavailable and has been on back order for over a year. I now do not have an airbag, horn or any steering wheel buttons. Couldn’t care less on the buttons but my concern is safety with the airbag and horn. Also it will no longer pass my states inspection. Volkswagen needs to fix this and now! part on back order for over a year and no expected time in near future is unacceptable for those in this position!! :(. They should realize some people will die instead of survive certain crashes without airbags working!!.

13 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/03/2022

Took vehicle to shop report oil leak no warning signs causing timing chain problems what is the cause of oil leak is the recall issue on the engine?.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2022

When outside temperature freezes, so does driver door. Will not open from outside or inside. After a few hours driving, it eventually worked. But next day, same thing.

15 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/17/2021

Heater core getting clogged again, after multiple replacements, vwgoa will not perform recall because of other not related recall not performed. When heater core gets clogged three things happen, passenger side stops producing heat, windshield defrost does not operate correctly, and coolant lost due to evaporating and or leak into intercooler that can lead to engine damage.

16 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/15/2021

My clock spring went out in December 2021. Vw dealership acknowledged the problem and told me the repairs/part are covered under recall/extended warranty, but vw has a back order on the part. Meanwhile, I am without a drivers side airbag and a working horn almost 6 months later. I can’t even honk the horn to alert someone and prevent an accident. Vw could use aftermarket parts (aftermarket parts may work better), but they have refused. I am stuck with no airbag or horn and I can’t even trade the car in (except at the vw dealership) because it doesn’t have a working airbag. Super frustrated with Volkswagen!!.

17 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2021

The airbag light stayed on and the horn stopped working.

18 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/25/2021

Cylinder ignition lock jammed. Could not get key into ignition. Brought it to a mechanic who ordered a new cylinder from Volkswagen. That part also did not work. When he spoke to a Volkswagen representation, the representative stated "we've been having issues with those".

19 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/27/2020

I took my car to Volkswagen only for them to tell me that the coolant needed to be flushed due to the epc light I spent 300 bucks and a week later they told me that the fuel pump or fuel system needed to be cleaned take the gas out and put more gas in and it needed to be replaced spark plugs which is another 800 bucks that is almost 1000 within two weeks for a epc light.

20 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/16/2020

I currently own a 2014 vw Passat tdi that was part of the recall and due to the fact these vehicles have sat around a long period of time they extended certain other parts warranty. In February I had the heater core replaced twice. Over the summer there was no need for heat and I just turned the heat on this morning and the vehicle is blowing cold air again. I am less than 1000 miles outside the extended warranty and vw refuses to repair. This issue could have started well within the mileage restraints but due to warm weather there was no need for heat. This problem was already established and documented and vw should replace. I will be left out in the cold all winter.

21 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/04/2020

Car gas pedal was stuck and continued to accelerate getting up to 58 mph after pressing on brakes lightly the car continued to go faster and faster. As I was getting closer to an intersection, that was red, and in fear of getting hit cause the gas would not slow down I slammed on brakes and hoped it would stop the car but the car lost control hit a curb and hit a fire hydrant in the front middle of car, the car flipped over and no airbags deployed. The vehicle was in motion prior to accident and it was on a highway then I turned on a side street going 58 mph due to gas pedal being stuck, I then lost control of car after hitting brakes to make the car slow down. Me and my friend have headache and are sore, I went to immediate car due to concussion symptoms. I am now terrified to drive or get into car, I become hysterical and can't stop crying. My friend is also not getting cars either. Scariest thing ever.

22 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/06/2020

Bought my car in November 2019 from an individual after bout 6 months I noticed that my car would slighty cut out when slowing down or cominv to a stop but it wasnt often til bout another 6 months that it began to cut out when slowing down and stopping more and aggressively and it would die then it does it just idling and even when im driving at a low speed as long as I stay at a higher speed ot isnt as bad theres no warning or check engine lights that come on at all when it dies sometime I dont even know it did until I see thr red battery light illuminated car will start back up but if I dont give it high speed it again will cut out aggressively and die if im going 40mph in mid drive it does it. Ive had thr spark plugs changed oil changed thr cam position sensor changed the alternator and battery check they were fine I do however sometime after turninv my car off hear the fuel pump still on so I have to turn key over and back off for it to go off it throws no coded an last mechanic said it did ok aftet clearing all codes but wasnt sure if it would fix it whivh it didnt ive seen online car blogs of anothers with same year make an model having same issue and some said it was the fuel pump control module/fuel pump there is a recall but my car is not under it its dangerous risking driving because any slow speed or having to stop slow doen to turn my car will stall and shut off instantly which can lead to accidents its said this is an issue among same year make an model but cars like mine arent under the recall for the fuel pump issues it needs to be addressed please thank you.

23 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2020

Vehicle stalls at red lights or when idle. Epc light continues to light up. Continue to take vehicle to dealers each time they were unable to fix stating change the oil it is bad. At this time we are replacing engine at 86,000 miles, fuel pump was also changed in December 2020.

24 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/07/2019

I was turning the steering wheel in my vehicle and heard a crunching/clicking sound. After checking what the issue was, I was told that it was the clock spring which was not covered under the warranty or a recall as per the dealership. My airbag light is now on and may not be functioning properly. My horn no longer works along with any of the functions in my steering wheel such as my radio and phone connection. I was also told that the faulty clock spring could effect other electronic functions in my vehicle. There were no warning lights prior to the malfunction of the clockspring.

25 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/19/2019

The doors (2014 Passat) do not work properly in cold temperatures. The car doors, especially the driver's side fail to unlock/or close. The driver's door will at times open with the actual key and at other times will not. Sometimes the door will unlock but the lock freezes in position preventing the car door from closing shut. A visit to a vw service department did not solve this problem. Replaced battery in key but problem persists.

26 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2019

Approximately 2 years ago the backup camera and infotainment system ceased working. I complained to the dealership but they said that failure of the system was a "characteristic" and not a "defect". In my opinion, having an operational backup camera is a safety feature. They quoted me over $2,500 to repair. I now see on the internet that vw has issued a recall of over 32,000 vehicles (model year 2021) for the exact same problem -- losing the rearview camera and infotainment displays. By the way, lose of the system in my car also means that I cannot use my mobile phone "hands-free" thru the car, which is also a safety feature. So, if vw is issuing a recall for 2021 vehicles for this same issue as my car, why must I pay over $2,500 for it to be repaired on my 2014 Passat?.

27 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/21/2019

Drivers side door wont unlatch. Due to a bad design, the drivers side door will not open when that temperature is below freezing. Vw has acknowledged this as a problem, but will not recall. This is a safety issue since the driver cannot exit the vehicle in an emergency. I called them but their stand is that the car is out of warranty so too bad. The condition only exists when the temperature is below freezing. The problem is well know based on social media posts. I think vw should take some responsibility for the design flaw.

28 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/03/2018

Takata recall there was a reckless driver who was not obeying the traffic rules. I was on the highway (NJ turnpike 78 around bayonne). And then this guy was on the right entering to the highway, but he switched to the left lane without waiting for the solid line to become dotted line. And then right away, he cut in front of me, to again switch to the most left lane. I was almost going to hit him because of this reckless move. He didn't signal and wait for me (or someone else) to give him the way. He just cut in front me. I horned him and then he showed me his middle finger. It was about to be an accident if I hadn't hit the brakes right away. He entered the highway without obeying the rules and cut the road from all the way from right to the left lane. And he is rude and offensive. He has a black Lincoln, with NY plate. Plate number is t657065c. This happened in the morning around 8:46. It is a rush our, he increases the risk of accidents and puts people in danger. I hope he will be punished for this.

29 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2018

After driving my 2014 Passat has a burning smell coming from the car. After having the upper timing chamber, transmission seals, and brake system replaced it is still smelling like something is burning. It smells like metal on metal, so I assumed it was the brakes, but even after having them changed at the dealership, there is still an unknown problem.

30 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/07/2018

Transmission leak coolant leak engine light and brakes radiator leak.

31 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2018

Took my car in because I had no horn, no air bags, and the steering wheel sounded 'funny'. I had a little over 39,000 when this all happened. I was told it was the clock spring. Apparently there was a recall for this for the 2014 Passats, but my VIN number was not included. They can't tell me why. Clearly, my car was included in the defective vehicles!! it is a very expensive part to replace.

32 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/03/2018

I own a 2014 vw Passat. All of the functions on my the steering wheel when dead and the airbag light came on. The vehicle was stationary when the issue was first discovered. I had just started the car. After bringing the car to a dealership to have it diagnosed, it was diagnosed as a faulty clock spring. The replacement cost is $637 and the closest dealer is 45 miles away. This is a safety hazard as the air bag, horn and other steering wheel features do not work. After researching I've come to realize there are thousands of vehicles effected by this and no recall.

33 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/02/2018

Takata recall I have been receiving recall notices for my 2014 Volkswagen Passat for the past year year. I made an appointment with my Volkswagen dealer in March of 2018, brought the car in so they could fix the recall. After taking the day off, and waiting for the car, I was told that the dealership did not have the correct part to fix it, and they could not complete the repair. I was told I would be contacted as soon as they received the part. Last month, I contacted the dealership to inquire about the recall and was told they still did not have the part. I contacted Volkswagen, they put me in touch with another dealer, I contacted that dealer. They also did not have the part. Again I was told, we will contact you when we have the part. That was over a month ago. Yesterday, I received another recall notice. How do get my recall fixed if the dealerships do not have the parts? do I have to wait until the car implodes? please help!.

34 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/13/2018

On may 31, 2018, I bought a Volkswagen Passat e. S. 2014 at inwood motors, inc. Dos id # 447825, located at 153 sheridan blvd, inwood NY 11096. The vehicle was financed thru the lender new city funding, located at 146 s liberty dr. # 11b, stony point, NY 10980 for the amount of $8,000. 00 dollars. After driving the vehicle over 40 miles per hours, it warned me of some mechanical problem thru the vehicle dashboard (yellow light ecp), front brake band worn, abnormal sound in front of vehicle when turning to right and to left. I immediately informed the person in charge of the dealership about this issues named kasi, he told me not to worry about, that I had 1 month guarantee that he would take care about it. I have left the vehicle several times at the dealership to make the repairs, but he never did it. The dealership work in conjunction with the mechanic shop tikal's auto repair, located at 153c sheridan blvd, inwood NY 11096, (516) 371-9582. The first time I left the vehicle was on June 13, 2018, and two days later, he notified me about the throttle body had problem, and it was necessary to order a new one to replace it. He told me to bring the car with me, he would call me when he had the part in his possession. After that, the vehicle continued with the same problem, never repair the brakes, nor the sound that I informed him about before. He told me to leave the vehicle again, after three days later, he said it was the solenoid, and it was necessary to order a new one to replace it the old one. He told me to bring the car with me, he would call me once his had the part in his possession. He called me on July 23, 2018, to bring the vehicle back to the dealership for repair, but until now, the car hasn't been repair it. It's been a month and two weeks that I notified the dealership about the problem, and the vehicle has not been repaired in it's entirely.

35 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/05/2018

1. Faulty clock spring resulting in no working horn or airbag 2. Call stalls and won't start intermittently. Dealer can't find issues but I think it's related to the faulty fuel pump recall.
