Primewell valera touring ii 215/55r 17 tires. The tires after 5000 miles have developed a roaring sound and the sidewalls are cracked. The roaring has become so loud I had the wheel bearings replaced because of the noise. The noise is in fact coming from the tires. The tires were bought by the dealer we purchased the car from. In fact, it was part of the deal that the car had new tires put on. Because of this fact, the tires are not under warranty. I took the car to my local firestone dealer, they have primewell tires made exclusively for them. The dealer was nice enough and told me about the recall for the tires, but my specific size was not listed under the recall. The next size up and down were listed, but not our specific size. He did offer a discount on a new set of tires though. He honestly tried to help us out. Before I spent an additional $500 plus dollars I called firestone corporate. After stating my case, he said there was absolutely nothing he could do. I asked him if he would let his wife drive a car with cracked sidewall tires, he commented if it was his car, he would get them replaced, but he offered absolutely no help to do so and was unapologetic to say the least. I expect more from firestone / bridgestone. You would think after all the bad press from the Ford explorer tire incident they would back there products up better, or at least offer a product that lasts longer than 5000 miles. Please be aware before buying there products, I know I never will again!.

I was traveling on I-70 east 25 miles east of denver at mile marker 133, with three of my granddaughters in the car with me. I heard a noise and immediately started to pull to the right shoulder and brake when the car went out of control, spinning me out to the left across both traffic lanes, took me in a 360 degree circle and then into the ditch on the right side of the road. It was only an instant from first noise to being spun out of control - no warning. Because I was spun out to the left, I was not hit by the semi directly behind me. The right rear tire ran ahead of my car from the point where I first attempted to stop. There was an incident report: colorado state patrol #[xxx]. Officer on scene examined tire and said it was an "instantaneous separation" of tread from sidewall and possibly faulty tire manufacture. He also said we should have rolled but my car's low center of gravity saved us. We were unhurt but traumatized. The tire was purchased 1-30-14, 3-1/2 months prior to incident and was in like-new condition. Purchased from discount tires on lake mead in las vegas, manufactured by gt radial, giti tire (USA) ltd. , 10404 sixth street, rancho cucamonga, CA 91730-5831, phone (909) 980-0968. Car had been completely gone over two days before when I departed on trip, tire pressure was checked the day before, and a visual check was done before I got on the road that day. There was no indication that the tire was damaged or underinflated in any way. I believe utterly that the tire was defective and am considering a lawsuit despite fact that we were uninjured. This was a terrifying event and one which could have taken the lives of my granddaughters through no fault of my own. This is happening more and more and mfgrs are using old "dry" rubber and/or ineffective adhesive. I trust you will pursue this very serious issue. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Pirelli 235/40r18 tires on a brand new 2007 Volkswagen Passat (oem tires) developed a sidewall bulge (no excessive speeding, no potholes, and no curbs encountered). In less than 4,000 miles, the tire developed sidewall bubbles. Many others report the same problem with these model tires (four seasons p6) having soft sidewalls that can rupture, however pirelli has not been at all willing to remedy the problem by replacing the tires. They claim road damage, however there is no road damage to found on the tire, or anywhere else on my vehicle. Had I been at high speed, this could have been fatal if the tire(s) were to rupture. These tires are dangerous.

Going home from work near dusk on the freeway, my car began to veer to the left then the right making it very difficult to control the car. I had never experienced any problems with the car (only a year and a half old) so I had no idea what it could be. I began to get very nervous especially with trailer trucks driving near me. As I began to pull over I heard a loud noise come from the rear passenger side. Once stopped, I quickly went to inspect the passenger side where I saw that my tire had completely separated from the tread. At this point, I really got scared just thinking of what could have happened to me if I had completely lost control. The good thing is that I am usually a safe driver. I assume that if I were driving in excess of speed I would not be here now. After ten minutes of recovery, I proceeded to change the tire. I was near a sam's so I decided to see if I could have someone look at the tire and have it changed but it was late (8 pm) and they were closed.
Goodyear tires eagle gps , size 195/60/r14 experienced a large crack in the sidewall completely around left front tire rim. The consumer took the vehicle to a goodyear dealer, and they urged the consumer to take tire to sears because these tires came on a used vehicle, these were not part of the original equipment. The consumer went to sears, who replaced the left front tire free of charge because there were only 1,000 miles and hardly any wear on them. The other tires were also cracked. The service man at sears asked the consumer to return the next day and he would replace the other tires. But when consumer returned the next day a different person was working and said these were not sear's tires but samataea's club tires. The consumer was referred to samataea's club to replace all tires and return the previously replaced tire to sears. Samataea's club would not honor the tire warranty because the consumer was not a member, and that was part of their policy. The consumer contacted goodyear, and they said it was up to samataea's club as to how those tires should be replaced. The tires have hardly any wear but continue to crack. Currently on the sidewall the steel and tread is shows through . No one will replace these tires at this time. The consumer does plan to replace these tires, but feels he should not be responsible for the repair cost.

Continental ecoplus 195/65 r15 radial tires were 2 yrs old with approx. 25,000 miles on them. My mechanic noticed two tires had bubbles in sidewalls (driver side front & rear) and were on the verge of blowouts. Fortunately I was able to replace all 4 tires without further damage or crash. Now with 4 new tires (same model) that are 2 weeks old, yesterday I discovered that one tire had 12. 5 psi (front passenger side) while other 3 were at 30 psi. Faulty again?.

Vivwvwrh63b14p105384this is filed on behalf of my fiancee christina bresko(same address, evening phone) owner of the vehicle. We noticed a bubble on the side of the right front tire a p205/55r16 continental touring contact ch95 tire on her 2004 vw Passat (which had only 3,087 miles on it) on the evening of 7-10-5 . I brought it to three county Volkswagen, lyndhurst, NJ on the morning of 7-11-05 at approx. 9:50 am. They replaced the tire at a cost to me of $126. 28 saying it was not covered by vw and that the matter had to be taken up with continental tire. They sent the tire to continental the next day for testing. After repeated calls to continental, I finally received their response on 9-1-05 claiming the bubble was due to a road hazard. (case #02130) this car & tire were driven predominantly local! I simply do not believe their explanation especially since my cousin, three county's former sales manager,(who by the way has been in the business for decades) didn't buy it either! if the bubble was not detected, it could have burst while driving causing serious injury or death to one or both of us!.

: the contact stated that vehicle was purchased with 3 tires which have a sidewall defect. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they determined there was a manufacturer defect and provided a pro rate discount on the first visit. The vehicle was taken to the dealer 2 more times for the same problem. The tire manufacturer also determined that the tires needed to be replaced but did not offer service or replacement of tires. Updated 7/13/2006 - the tire split apart at the seam along the sidewall while the consumer was driving 20 mph. Michelin offered prorated adjustment. Another tire, front right, developed a crack about 6 inches long at the seam in the sidewall, tire was replaced. The left rear tire was also cracked at the sidewall. The manufacturer agreed to replace the defective tire, but condtioned replacement on front wheel alignment at outside vendor. The manufacturer refused to refund the cost of the first failed tire.
On two separate occasions while driving 30 mph the tire failed. Driver was able to pull over and inspected the vehicle. Noticed that the tread separated from the sidewall. Vehicle was taken to a tire dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that the tires needed to be replaced, and replaced them. However, problem recurred. The consumer stated that he had two tire failures in less than 13000 miles.
One continental contitouring contact tire (205 55r16) on the right rear wheel with approximately 23,300 miles failed unexpectantly at highway speed (approx 65 mph). Tire tread separated from sidewall and damaged brake line and wheelwell liner. Was able to maintain control of vehicle which is a Passat glx with the 4 motion all wheel drive system. Had all four tires replaced when tire technician could not find any cause of tire failure (e. G. Punctures, hot spots, tire not round). Kept old tire and sidewall parts.
