1 Transmission Not Engage problem of the 2014 Volkswagen Passat

Failure Date: 03/26/2015

Driving on busy city street at about 45 mph when engine shut off completely. Coasted to left hand turn lane where I tried to start vehicle again, but it would crank once then die. Vehicle would repeat trying start with turning over ignition. After a number of attempts and turning everything off, vehicle finally restarted. Too to vw and awaiting response. Previous week, stopped at light in d, but transmission would did not initially engage. After more than a few seconds transmission engaged. When decelerating, generally very rough as you get close to stopping.

Failure Date: 10/01/2012

Car's transmission disengaged while wife was driving it. Car has dsg transmission that is same as the recall transmission from 2009 and 2010. Since then car's transmission has disengaged and then reengaged after restarting it a total of approximately 10 times some at low speeds and some at hi. Car always had lurch when driving. A google search shows over 6000 complaints at least regarding 2010 dsg transmission for vw Passat.

3 Transmission Not Engage problem of the 2003 Volkswagen Passat

Failure Date: 09/19/2002

I recently leased a vw Passatt station wagon and things have gone wrong with it even before the car had 300 miles on it. The car has less than 5000 miles on it and it has spent some 10 days at the repair shop. Defects have included a transmission that would disengage, heated seats that would not turn off, a/c and side mirrors that would not work, a module had to be replaced, the car had to be aligned, the front spoiler fell off, a speaker had to be replaced, part of the trim on the back was falling off, the memory settings on the driver's seat were not working, and the sun roof was rattling. The sales department has responded to all my calls by saying that I need to talk to the service department or to vw corporate directly. I have done both, when I called vw corporate they responded that as long as the car was driveable they would cover it under warranty and would not replace the car. They offered me a lube job as a settlement!.
