While driving at any speed noted rumbling noise from left front end with right hand turn. Found to have broken left front spring. Mechanic informs me that this is a common problem in Volvos.

2 Suspension problem of the 2006 Volvo XC70

Failure Date: 05/19/2014

Coil spring broke backing out of driveway plunging into drivers side tire , my friend has a 2007 Xc70 and the same thing happened to them. Very concerning at highway speeds would have been deadly. Please investigate.

3 Suspension problem of the 2004 Volvo XC70

Failure Date: 02/18/2013

While driving on smooth surface- heard a sudden loud sound as if something large dropped on the road. Car continued to drive normally except with a loud clunky sounds heard over bumps. Less than 5-miles later, when I pulled over to the garage- I recovered a piece of the spring coil which dropped: the driver side coil spring had broken/failed instantaneously. This uncommon problem appears to be common with Xc70 owners- and could result in potentially serious accidents.

4 Suspension problem of the 2007 Volvo XC70

Failure Date: 05/23/2011

Initial rear spring failure driver side on 5/23/2011. Car out of warranty at 50,00. Appealed to dealer and Volvo of America with no consideration for failure major suspension component, warranty, and safety issue. Second spring failure on 4/2/2012, passenger side, mileage 67,274. *j.

5 Suspension problem of the 2008 Volvo XC70

Failure Date: 04/12/2009

The contact owns a 2008 Volvo Xc70 cross-country. The contact stated that all four tires prematurely wore at 20,000 miles. The tires were replaced but had become worn at 43,500 miles. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the tires were wearing as normal. The manufacturer advised that the tires would need replacing every 20,000 miles as normal. There were no repairs to the vehicle. The failure mileage was 20,000 and the current was 43,500. Updated 05/05/lj updated 05/11//.

6 Suspension problem of the 2006 Volvo XC70

Failure Date: 03/15/2006

The car pulls to the right. Alignment was checked and was slightly off. It was corrected but the car still pulls to the right. I drove one other Xc70 that was a loaner car from the dealer and it drove the same.
