Check Engine Light On Problems of Acura MDX

Priority Acura gave 2002 Mdx back Monday 4/3/17 had problems again with it slippin into neutral and wont move in d5. . . This time check engine light came on and d5 started blinking and gear shift was not move pass n until james the mechanic shut off vehicle and started it back up.

Very similar to NHTSA id number: 10762375. After 3-4 days of driving the check engine light came on along with transmission system u0401, vsa problem, hill start assist problem etc etc etc. The SUV would not speed above 35-40 miles and shake. Dealership replaced cracked spark plug, ignition coil - cause - possible moisture in spark plug. They were nice enough to take the car back and currently waiting for it to be replaced.

On 9/3/15, I was pulling into my garage when all the warning lights on the dashboard went off - transmission, check engine, lane detection light etc. Since I was going out of town the next morning, I put it in reverse and drove directly to the dealer. The car was in "limp mode" and I could only drive 35-40 mph. I showed the tech in the service dept. All the warning lights going off, and he said he had never seen anything like this before. He wrote up a work order with the following info: inspect for check engine light on, check engine light flashing and every warning light in the vehicle is on, would not accelerate over 35 mph. The following day I was contacted by the service dept. And was told they could not find a problem; there were no lights on, they even drove it for 40 miles. The service dept. Said they are only allowed to hold the car for five days. Today, 9/8/25 I picked up the car. The dealer's invoice reads: cause: light on – 123505 diagnostic trouble codes/programmed fuel injection (pgm-fi) – retrieve codes with the hds, read data, 74 – wa3. Inspected for check engine light on, found dtc p0303 (cylinder # 3 misfire) recorded freeze data and cleared codes, at time of inspection vehicle was running perfectly, test drove vehicle twice on extended test drives and engine ran perfectly, no dtcs are reset no problem is present at this time. Since the service dept. Could not find the problem and fix it, this means the car has not been repaired and I am driving a defective car. The next time the warning lights go on, I could be travelling on a crowded freeway at a high rate of speed (with my family inside), the car goes in to "limp mode - 35 mph and an accident occurs. This is a safety issue. How can Acura manufacture a $50,000. 00 car and their dealership not be able to find the problem and repair it?.

Vehicle stopped on the road because transmission failure, battery was replaced twice because of bluetooth board failure, always have random missfire codes on engine, check engine light on.

Only after 30k the car started acting up and started showing engine lights, sometimes stalling for a sec when accelerating. The car has been kept in a great shape, on time oil change, atf changed before 30k and engine flushed at 30k. The car is only 5 years old.

Five days after passing the state car inspection at a Honda dealership, my wife and two sons were driving our Mdx on 146n when the check engine light came on and the vehicle stalled. After having the car towed twice, first to a local garage (as it was after 7 pm and on the weekend) and then to the Acura dealership, Acura technicians confirmed the diagnosis of the garage and stated that a spark plug had been sucked into the engine rendering the vehicle unusable with significant engine damage. The initial cost estimate for repair was $8,100 as the following parts needed to be replaced: engine short block, cylinder head, gasket kits, coil pack, spark plug(s), etc. The owner of the independent garage helped my wife take side-by-side pictures of the damage which are available if you would like to see them. As the damaged parts had been taken out of my vehicle, against my request, these pictures are all that I have to show the extent of the damage. I believe this is a defect in the vehicle and should be investigated. Please note that Acura does not inspect spark plugs until 100k miles and this damage occurred at 84,553 miles. We have followed the maintenance schedule recommended by Acura and were just outside of our power train warranty period and believe that a luxury manufacturer should stand behind their product especially for damage caused by a spark plug that is not required to be inspected for another 15,000 miles.

Ongoing problem with 2009 Acura Mdx- the check engine warning light sporadically illuminates while driving indicating that the vehicle should be brought to an Acura repair facility. The dealership service department stated that it is a faulty sensor and it is a common problem with the 2009 Acura Mdx. The dealership further stated that it would be approximately $700. 00 for them to make the repair as Acura has not yet issued a recall notice for the sensor.

While driving 10 mph the check engine light came on . As a result the vehicle started to ride roughly. Please provide additional information.

The check engine light frequently blinks and the car occasionally misfires while the car is accelerating or under heavy engine load (e. G. , accelerating onto the freeway or driving on interstate through the mountains). These conditions appear to happen more frequently the whether is cool and damp. When the vehicle misfires, the engine hesitates and various dashboard warning indicators light. The engine hesitation and distraction from the warning lights makes it difficult to complete merger into traffic.

While waiting at a stop light and without warning vehicle surged forward while driver's foot was on the brake pedal. Failure also occurred by a stop sign at an elementary school. The problem was an air intake leak, which began approx. Three weeks after consumer purchased the vehicle and still exist today. The engine died and the check engine light illuminated. The consumer made several attempts to have the vehicle repaired, but to no avail. The consumer would like her monies reimbursed or a brand new Mdx with the same options and color of her choice.
