I brought my car in for regular maintenance as well as sunroof not opening plus I noticed on and off when I start the car my steering wheel vibrates, only when starting the car. Following day I received a phone call that the motor needed to be changed for the sunroof and they also need to change my brakes (car has ~8k miles on it)… and not just brake pads, rotors as well. My front passenger side brakes were basically none existent, no idea for how long and I was told it’s a manufacturers defect which was covered by warranty. I have a 4 year old and currently 5 months pregnant, needless to say I feel extremely unsafe now driving my not so cheap car.
All electrical systems failed while driving around 30mph, power steering failed, power brakes failed, lane assist failed. We were at high risk of a crash due to lack of control of the car while driving. We were lucky that it happened on a flat road and we were able to manually pull over to the side of the road. The vehicle was inspected by the manufacturer and we were told that the car did show all the steering angle sensors did malfunction and fail. They said there is no known cause. They just recalibrated and reset the sensor and said it now is ok "at this time. " there is no guarantee that the problem won’t happen again and put my family’s life in danger. Prior to this incident we repeatedly got the "brake system: brake system problem, brake performance may be reduced, see your dealer". We took it into the deal and was told nothing is wrong with the car and this is a known issue. Dealership service video: https://app. Truvideo. Com/v/cbrsghvo?s=46jtvtj1afxkzdwwq3ge7pdbzv4dldl0.
The contact owns a 2006 Acura Mdx. The contact stated while driving 40 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and became stiff. In addition, the vehicle stalled, and the brake lights failed to illuminate. The contact stated that the instrument panel warning lights illuminate on and off. The gear stick would not shift gear as needed. In addition, the vehicle stability assist (vsa) warning light was the only warning light that remained illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 281,800.

On two separate occasions (December 2022 and April 2023), the collision mitigation system (cms) of our 2020 Acura Mdx improperly engaged. On the first occasion, the cms abruptly engaged the braking system without warning. There was no car in front of the car, but there was a car in a turn lane to the right of the car. There was no reason for the system to engage. Both the driver (my wife) and the passenger (daughter) reported back pain from the incident. The driver received physical therapy for the event. The dealer (gary force Acura) and Honda America were notified. The dealer examined the car and found no issues or failures. On the second occasion, the car was changing lanes at a slow rate of speed while approaching an intersection and a stopped car well in front of the Acura. The cms again abruptly slammed on the brakes in a manner not corresponding with the risk or danger of the situation. A collision with the car behind our car was fortunately avoided by the driver of the other car. The violence of the braking system caused damage to the braking system. No injuries were incurred. Again, the dealer and Honda America were notified, and the car was again examined. No issues or failures were identified outside of the brake repair. On both occasions, individuals were put at risk. The dealer was not able to reproduce the problem. The dealer said a cms warning to brake should have come on before the cms engaged. On both occasions, no warnings were observed until the actual braking event started. We are not comfortable driving the car, particularly with a student driver in the family. In most cases, we turn the cms off before driving the car. The intent is to dispose of the car due to concern associated with the cms.

The contact owns a 2023 Acura Mdx. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal was spongy whenever depressed. The contact stated that the brake pedal would depress to the floorboard. There was no warning light illuminated. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to the dealer on three separate occasions. The brake reservoir and brake reservoir cap were replaced under warranty; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was given a case number. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.

The engine idle stop function is unreliable and often fails to restart the engine when the brake pedal is released. The vehicle will, suddenly and without notice, become inoperable and undrivable wherever it rests, whether at a red light or stop sign, in the middle of an intersection while making a left-hand turn, or on an entrance ramp to a highway, causing a dangerous situation for myself and other drivers. It takes several minutes to restart the engine and sometimes must be jump-started. The issue has been reported to my local dealership, and they said it is not covered.
When applying brakes, irrespective of speed at which I am traveling, I experience a distinct vibration/judder in the front brakes when applying the brakes on my 2017 Acura Mdx.

Dealer says two warped rotors brakes pads are good there has been no abnormal breaking while driving the car. I feel this is a faulty rotor.
The contact owns a 2022 Acura Mdx. The contact stated while driving 50 mph, the brakes applied independently. The contact stated the brake warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle decelerated to 10 mph however, quickly started accelerating after depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,500.
I was driving on a 80-mph 3-lane one direction (6 both) toll road, following a TX state trooper. About a 1/4 mile ahead of me were two waste disposal trucks. One in the right land and one passing the other in the center lane. The trooper and I pulled into the left lane. As we approached the waste disposal trucks (about 1/8 mile away) my brakes automatically engaged and braked hard for no reason. I tried to override it by depressing the accelerator but the accelerator did not respond (as though it had been disengaged). Behind me was a mercedes SUV, which had to brake hard to avoid rear ending me. My brakes kept automatically braking (off and on). I finally pulled off the road on the left shoulder and brought the car to a complete stop. It then allowed me to proceed on my way. I bought the car in part for this safety feature, but it clearly is faulty. In reading about braking system, I found that older models had a button that you could use to turn the system off. In my 2022 model, you can turn it off only with multiple steps. You can also adjust the responsiveness of the auto-brake system through a multiple step process. Clearly, this is a major problem that needs to be addressed. I was very lucky that the car behind me braked immediately or it would have rear-ended me at high speed. It was about 5:30 p. M. It was getting dark but not completely dark. I think the problem is with the automatic braking system for forward crash avoidance, but my adaptive cruise control was engaged.
Car broke down 3 times on the road while driving, it show 12vbattery failure, abs failure nd started flashing lights on the dashboard nd broke down while driving. When first time it happened dealer said they have fixed the issue. It happened again MD yesterday is 3rd time. Vehicle is 19k miles only it. Pls help us getting this resolved. Dealers make false promises and it’s breaking down again and again on the road while driving which is very scary.
This morning I read that you were investigating the automatic braking for certain Honda models. I have had this same thing happen with my 2017 Acura Mdx several times over the past few years. I would be driving (not following another car), and my car would suddenly brake and flash "brake" on the screen, without my doing anything. Both times, I attributed the issue to driving into a bright sun, but I am not sure. It did not cause an accident and it was not a big deal, but the last time (about 3 months ago) I remember braking and being nervous about someone else read ending me. . . When I tried to accelerate I was unable to do so.
The vehicle put emission system and electronic parking brake warning lights on panel, allowed vehicle to be placed in drive "d", then suddenly switched to a flashing "p," stalled in parking lot, and would not allow the vehicle to be changed to any other gear.
While driving suddenly all error warnings came up. It included check engine light, error messages included: electronic braking system error, emission system error. The light indicative of parking p! kept blinking also the (p) came up on the dashboard. Interestingly after some time this all cleared on its own. Then came back again only this time it stayed on. I don't know if this has compromised the safety features of the vehicle including emergency braking (crash avoidance/vehicle proximity).
The brakes are not working warning light has flashed several times. In numerous calls and dealer visits Acura has no resolution the say it’s under investigation. There is a service bulletin from may of 2021 but I was never advised of this issue and I am very uncomfortable driving the car with a brake problem.
The contact owns a 2019 Acura Mdx. The contact stated that while, driving approximately 3-4 mph, depressed the brake pedal but, it failed to respond. The contact drove into a pole. The brake message was displayed. There were no reported injuries, fire or air bag deployment. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer but, vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000.

The car is making extreme noise from the rotors and it’s screeching. I took the car to paragon Acura multiple times and they stated it’s normal. A brake sign pops up and the car seems extremely unsafe. I have videos to to show everything.
When making a sharp turn on hot days the car makes a grinding noise like something is grabbing the tire. It slows the car, hands the steering wheel and then the vsa hazard light comes on. It is a recurring issue and mechanics have not been able to diagnose.

While driving on normal road with no other cars around, the emergency braking system/forward collision activated and immediately stopped my car with no danger present. This resulted in the car behind me swerve to avoid hitting me in the rear. No warning lights were on the dash or no audible warning either. This seems to be a malfunction in the system.
Incident #2 driving down city street approaching an intersection. No car in front and no car behind. In the middle of the intersection the car auto brakes to a complete stop before releasing back to normal. If a car were behind me I would have most surely been rear ended.
Recall not fixed in timely manner at all now car isn't working breaks sticking just not safe at all can't drive.
Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Acura Mdx. The contact stated while driving 40 mph, when lifting his foot from the accelerator pedal and the vehicle made a complete stop. The contact stated he did not depress the brake pedal and the vehicle made a stop. The contact stated vehicle stability assist (vsa) warning light was illuminated. Upon investigation the contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 13v092000 (service brakes, hydraulic, traction control system). The vehicle taken to independent mechanic, where he associated to recall remedy. The vehicle was taken to local dealer vehicle stability assist located at 16151 los gatos blvd, los gatos, CA 95032, were made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired as of yet. The manufacturer had not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 148,000. Dp.
Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Acura Mdx. The contact stated that while traveling at various speeds, the left rear tire would brake independently as the vsa( vehicle stability assist) warning light would illuminate. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle with a defective left rear brake pad and router. The contact then had a family member replace the brake pad and router. Despite the repair, the failure persisted. Upon investigation, the contact linked NHTSA campaign number: 13v092000 (service brakes, hydraulic, traction control system) with her failure. The dealer nor the manufacturer have been notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 153,000. Jo.
The automatic collision mitigation system had a complete 100% lock up of my brakes during a cross of an intersection . Although I was wearing my seatbelt the force of the stop threw my head into the steering wheel. It is a complete miracle that the car behind me did not rear-end me. This system routinely gives false positives when going around corners when you are in the center lane and it beeps and pulses the brakes. This time, the car stopped completely and I hit my head and was lucky to not cause an accident. There should be a way to 100% permanently turn off or Acura needs to fix their software. Too many false positives and actually is less safe with it on.
I was approaching a stop light on a busy street on a very bright day and did not see that the stop light I was approaching had turned red. When I realized it was red, I braked rapidly of course but still going at a pretty good speed I hit the stopped car in front of me. The collision was between drivers side of my Mdx and right rear of a medium-sized white Jeep. My 17 yr old son was in the front passenger seat and his air bag deployed, however my driver bag did not deploy. Both seat belts locked up. The impact was very strong on driver side given that is where we hit. Fortunately, my seat belt kept me from hitting the windshield. My only injuries are neck ache, head ache, seat belt bruises, and ringing ears. My concern is for future use of my car. If the driver air bag did not deploy given this hard of a hit, I do not believe it will deploy in any collision. I filed a complaint with Acura requesting them to inspect the airbag and black box to determine why it did not deploy and they said that airbags are designed to only deploy when needed and in this case the cars computer determined it was not needed hence there is no reason to inspect it further. I believe that if the airbag deployed on the passenger side where the impact was less then the air bag should have also deployed on the driver side. My insurance adjuster also supposedly requested Acura to inspect the vehicle and they also did not get any favorable action from Acura. Honda/Acura of America returned my phone calls twice and simply said there is no supporting information indicating that the airbag or cars computer should be investigated. They also did not ask any questions about the accident in which additional information could be provided. The estimated repair on the car is over $12k.

Since owners and on 4 specific occasions. While driving at high speed upon acceleration at 70 mph auto went dead. Lost all power. After eight minutes auto restarted. 9 months ago, while placed into reveres to auto self accelerated t high speed. After brakes applied and vehicle placed into drive vehicle accelerated at a hgh rate of speed. Lock brakes put vehicle into neutral restarted. One month ago while turning left into traffic at a major intersection, car brakes applied awaiting left turn against traffic. Went to accelerate, car dash lights went wild all begin bling rapidly, dash went black, abs brakes and brake pedal went to floor car went by itself into neutral. Took over 8 minutes to restart. On 9/24. 19 Tuesday at 1:41 pm while traveling west bound on interstate 90, at 74 mph while passing a semi truck as I passed the truck, with a clear distance and proceeded to turn into the right driving lane in front of the truck as I pulled right the vehicle dash went black, the abs and brake peddle went to the floor and the car decelerated rapidly from 74 to 50 mph within a second. The semi locked the brakes to avoid a serious rear end collision. As I reached 50 mph the dash re lite and all instrumentation appear to function and as I pushed down on the accelerator the vehicle regained speed. I can report perhaps 15 to 20 other major items with collision avoidance and electronic dash abnormalities. The vehicle has been in the Acura shop minimally 15 to 20 times over 24 months to no avail. Acura reports software updates or bad battery causing low voltage signals. This vehicle is dangerous and if not addressed will cause death.
Merging onto a 6 lane highway, specifically the 3 northbound lanes, the collision mitigation braking system activated suddenly. I was moving from the right lane to the middle lane accelerating as needed to maintain the appropriate speed with the middle lane. As I began to ease off the accelerator, the cmbs slammed on the brakes. Speed went from 60 to 25mph on a congested highway at rush hour. The car behind me swerved to avoid. I frantically stomped on the gas pedal to try to keep going, eventually the car stopped braking and I continued. The car in front of me was a few hundred feet away and not braking at the time this happened. Time of day was just before sunrise.

6 months after delivery of my vehicle I stated noticing a jerking when my transmission shifts. I have taken my vehicle to the dealer indicating my concern. Each time the dealers said the could not duplicate. The problem continues. The second issue has to do with my brakes . On 9/23/2019 my brakes started emitting a loud persistent squeak. I am scheduling an appointment with my dealer. My vehicle is a little more than a year old and it seems to me that at 30,000 miles constitute premature brake ware.
I was traveling about 35-40 mph approaching a side street to the right. The car in front of me slowed to turn right. The brake light flashed as it typically does. I slowed but did not stop since the car in front of me was continuing it's turn and moving away from me. There was a car at the stop sign on the side street waiting to turn onto the road I was traveling. As the car in front of me was completing its turn my cars braking system engaged and brought the vehicle to a complete stop in front of the car on the side street with no vehicles in front of me. The dealer says there are no errors recorded on the computer system and they could not duplicate what happened.
After vehicle powered off and and after couple of hours later, the break pedal gets very stiff. So, tremendous force needs to apply to start to engine. After around 600 miles of driving this new vehicle, this problem happened. My wife is primarily driving this vehicle. And thus she is getting knee pain issue to stiff break pedal. Acura confirmed this is known issue but they denied to fix it as indicated in the attached document.
Speed control would not engage. This has happened before. Auto brakes engaged while driving down city street at 40 mph in outside lane of 4 lane road. No cars in front or immediately to my left. Fortunitly there were no cars/trucks behind me. Car came to suddened stop engaging the seat belts. After stopping I put put on gas again and drove 2 more blocks before I parked car for 2+ hours. Called dealership & drove to service department for repair. Dealer kept car overnight and said there were no issues they could find by driving or checking diagnostic computer records. So there was nothing they could do. These electrical issues have appeared and could not be duplicated in the past 20 months. . . . . . 1 - suddended emergency braking - 1x, speed control not engaging - 3 times, passenger side mirror not closing - 10+ times, car locking or not unlocking doors with key inside car - 3 times. Once will at airport and with car running.
I'm looking over recalls on kelley blue book site.
Breaking light goes on and the brake gets stuck and makes a grasping noise like something is grinding and the pedal is stuck down.
