Multiple systems indicator failures wen on, per attached pictures. The transmission was stuck in the 1st gear, the vehicle was vibrating and was unable to accelerate. This created a driving hazard, as I was on the roadway.

I purchased my 2001 Acura Mdx in March 2019. Since purchase the car consistently makes a loud clunk when shifting the gear shifter into reverse. It also clunks consistently going from park to drive. There is hesitation in the cars shifting. At times I either have to speed up or let speed off for a transmission shift to occur. The car shudders horribly when braking at low or medium speeds. It feels unsafe and scary and only a matter of time before a complete wipe out occurs. Seeing this as a ongoing problem with this vehicle and yet California is not in the vehicle recalls seems ridiculous. These happen on city streets and highways daily while driving said vehicle.

Vehicle shudders at 35-40 mph, the shuddering is harder when going up a slight incline. It seems that the vehicle doesn't want to shift down a gear. I have to either let go of the gas or give it more gas for the shuddering to stop.

The contact owns a 2017 Acura Mdx. The contact stated while driving 30 mph, several unknown warning lights illuminated and the vehicle started to shudder. The contact also stated that the gear shifter was unable to shift into park. The vehicle was taken to john eagle Acura (16015 katy fwy, houston, TX 77094) where it was diagnosed with the ignition coil circuit cable needing to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.
Two issues with drive-train: first is a grind/rumble (like driving over a highway rumble strip) felt at low speeds (20-30 mph) with light acceleration. Shakes vehicle slightly. Can be reproduced. Vehicle can accelerate through the grinding/rumbling by further depressing accelerator and sometimes accelerates through the 20-30 mph range without noticeable grinding/rumbling. If, however, the vehicle is accelerating slowly and it does begin to grind/rumble, maintaining a consistent speed/rpm level (without drastic change in road surface or grade that would cause computer to change gear due to increased/decreased friction) the driver can create a continued duration of the grinding/rumbling until releasing of further depressing the accelerator to change out of that gear/rpm/speed/load combination which results in the grinding/rumbling described above. The second issue is a whirring/lugging during highway speed cruising on level surface with d5 automatic transmission gear engaged. Once the vehicle accelerates above around 45 mph, more consistently at speeds above 50 mph, on level terrain at consistent speed via accelerator or cruise-controlled, the vehicle will frequently increase by approximately 200-300 rpm and begin to make a whirring sound which lasts a few seconds then the rpm return to previous speed and the whirring subsides. A few seconds later the same thing occurs and this cycle continues throughout the duration of the maintained speed. The phenomenon is more noticeable with cruise-control as the speed and rpms likely have more computer regulation but it is also noticeable without cruise-control engaged. My concern is that in either situation the transmission internals could be worn in a manner not intended by manufacturer resulting in overheating or breaking of internal components that could cause a sudden and violent reaction of the speeding vehicle.
When approaching speeds of 35mph, the vehicle would begin to make a rumbling noise from the front and would then start to shake heavily. The shaking of the vehicle would continue until you would go faster than 40mph or slower than 25mph. The vehicle is very distracting when rumbling and creates a safety hazard as attention is taken away from the road and put onto the vehicle. Furthermore, you are forced to either speed , up to 40mph or slow down to 25mph to stop the rumbling, interfering with driving and possibly breaking laws.
At approximately 35 mph the car made a vibration or shudder noise for about 10-15 seconds and began to done this from then on at about that speed. I the car to Acura to have a recall performed and asked them to check this. I told them that you have to drive the car to feel when is happen. They said that they could not repeat the effect. After picking the car up I felt the same vibration on my way home. I did some web research and found this to be a fairly common issue in models with the engine transmission setup. I would like to know the depth of testing required to trouble shoot this issue and if the car is safe to use? what will the failure mode be?.
Tl- the contact owns a 2002 Acura Mdx. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the vehicle started to shake violently. The contact maneuvered the vehicle to the shoulder and left it parked. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for inspection. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who referred him to the dealer. The failure mileage was 109,000. Purchased new, a 2002 Acura Mdx. First transmission replaced 2 months shy of 7 year extended warranty at approx. 47,000 miles. Transmission warranty ended with the expiration of the 7 year warranty (2 months). The car would shudder, seize, rendering it a safety issue. Next transmission failure at 87,000 miles. Same symptoms, shudders, gear slippage, seizing, again rendering the car undrivable. The car is currently back in with so. Bay Acura in torrance, California, receiving the third transmission. These same symptoms have been reported by several hundred customers and I don't understand what would constitute a recall. I only searched for like complaints for an hour so I am quite confident I could locate several thousand. This same transmission failure has been reported in the NY times. Six thousand dollars is an excessive amount so I am working on a class action suit with other owners as the car is unsafe as a family vehicle. Also had the car tested extensively at other transmision facilities.
My vehicle is shuddering on the 2nd to 3rd gear upshift. Loss of power. This is occuring with greater and greater frequency, after just a short time of driving. I brought this to the attention of the dealer who advised that I would need a re-man transmission. When I asked about this being related to the known recall for this exact problem, they stated they would bring this up to the manufacturer. The manufacturer's reply was that they don't know me well enough, so they would not look into this any further, and would fix this defect. The dealer advised that the recall was closed for this vehicle, and that only an inspection was done; there was no jet kit installed, no transmission replacement done. They inspected, and sent it on its way, and now it is failing. I fear that the consequence of this known recalled defect not being corrected by the manufacturer, will be transmission lockup at speed, leading to a crash.
Vehicle shudders and vibrates between 35-40 mph. Wll be taking to a dealer on Friday 18feb2011 for inspection. This has happened before also but I was not sure what it was. This normally occurs when accelerating at speeds between 30 and 45 mph. Also received a letter regarding software updates for the transmission in December 2010. Itsaid that this update has been issued in September 2009, but I was never informed of this update earlier. Acura myacura. Com website also does not have any information on this.

My 2004 Acura Mdx - has safety concerns around shuddering - grinding and vibrating within the vehicle when accelerating beyond 35 mph. There are several forums with hundreds of complaints listed from other various owners of the same model vehicle manufactured in model years 2003 - 2004. This safety issue appears to be an absolute defect that affects the driving performance of the vehicle. The stated repair cost range between $2,500 and $3,000. The dealer is not open to covering any o f the cost of the defect.
Driving on highway at 75-80 mph, car starts vibrating, and the steering wheel starts shaking. Took it to the deal to check since I have a warranty (only 51k miles) and they claim they cannot duplicate problem.

Car is making a grinding noise at approximately 30 to 40 m/h. I had the timing belt changed and was told this noise is a transmission problem that is common to Acura Mdxs between 02s to 06s. I have justified the cost of Acuras because of their longevity and am very upset over the repair cost of $4000. Why hasn't Acura been forced to stand behind this defect when it seems to be so common when I investigated on the internet.

While driving, the car started shaking and shuddering. The dealer kept my car for 10 days and put in a new transmision. I got the car back and it was still shaking and shuddering. They want to put in another transmission. It feels very unsafe to drive!.
Nhtsa recall 04v176000 concerning automatic transmission. After having the oil cooler return lines revised vehicle vibrated/jerked, and the transmission locked up. Vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that transmission needed to be replaced.
The vehicle would shake and rattle between 1500-2000 rpm's. The dealer was unable and unwilling to correct the problem. The hesitation in the gears prevents the vehicle from performing maneuvers which could prevent or even cause accidents.
