I just purchased the vehicle a week ago (4/30/2019) and the passenger air bag off light is malfunctioning. The dealer tells me the light is supposed to be on when no one is sitting on the seat and that the passenger must be above 65 pounds for the light to be turned off, but my mother, who weighs 95 pounds, sat in it last weekend and the light remained. I have a photo and video. Seems like more people are having the same problem, as read in Acurazine. Com. This happens sporadically. The light isn't on when I start the car with mom sitting on it, then it comes on even when she's applying her weight (95 pounds) on the seat. The car is in the dealership but based on what I've read online it doesn't seem like it gets fixed.

Passenger airbag off light will stay on when there is an adult sitting in passenger seat. This has happened multiple times. I have many pictures and the service manager at the dealership has observed this too. Acura refuses to admit there is a problem even though many people are reporting this same problem on Acura owner websites. No one can guarantee me that the passenger airbag will function correctly if an accident occurs.
My vehicle had two recalls for the same problem . It was serviced by the first recall , however the same problem returned with another airbag notification . When I contacted Acura and my dealer they are telling me that despite the latest recall my vehicle is not on the list. I believe it has to be related ,but they cannot tell me why vehicle is exempt from the second recall. I am afraid to drive the vehicle because of the imminent danger . I need your help. I need to know why vehicle is exempt .

I purchased the vehicle in Dec 2017. Since Dec 2017, the vehicle has been in the service center at the dealer 3 times for a total of 2. 5 months due to sounds with the steering column - specifically the location of the driver airbag within the steering column under the horn. The sound was identitied within the first 2,000 miles of being a new vehicle. The sound becomes pronounced when the steering wheel is rotated 180 degrees and feels like it is pulling on an item under the plastic cover above the airbag. The airbag was removed from the steering column and when the airbag was moved around, there was a sound similar to the sound from the steering wheel when turned. The Acura tech team has been informed. This sound was evidenced to be in Acura model years 2017 and 2018. The sound in the steering column/airbag location becomes even more pronounced as more miles are put on the vehicle. Acura will not investigate further as the model has been redesigned and they do not want to be involved in additional recalls. I have driven numerous other Acura loaner vehicles and no other Acura vehicles have made this sound in the steering column/air bag. The sound starts to occur after the steering column has been rotated to the left or right 180 degrees - such as going up or down a parking ramp. Once the sound has started, it persists and conrinues to get louder over time. I have only 7800 miles on my vehicle, but the sound was also recorded in vehicles with over 20,000 miles. I feel this sound could be the airbag being caught in the rotation of the steering column. The concern is the airbag will artificially deploy after use, as the sound being heard is comparable to a bag being twisted or an element within the steering column rubbing against another item.

Need new air bag. When will this happen ? thanks.
Takata recall. I am 71 years old and have only one car. I am concerned that if there would be an accident (I drive rarely (less than 5000 miles a year) and carefully (no moving violations or accidents in decades) I would be seriously injured. When will my car air bags be replaced.

Takata recall. My daughter's car is register in OH ( with her mom) but she spent 4 years at clemson university in south carolina ( hot climate ) and the next 3 at university of virginia in charlottesville va. So ohio is probably not considered hot and humid, and a lower priority for air bag parts, but my daughter's car has been in a hot humid southern climate. I guess this is a. Loophole in the priority selection process. What can I do.
Takata recall. I wrote to Acura asking for immediate replacement due to possible death or severe injury. I received a voicemail message. I called back and never heard back again. I am being ignored. We sometimes use this car to carry a baby. There is no one day this happened although your website requires such an entry to have may complaint accepted!!!.
Takata recall. The airbag deployed while my right hand was on the 2 o'clock position. I was going about 30 mph on a city street, and hit a car that stopped suddenly in front of me. It was like a bomb blast onto my wrist, forcefully blasting out acid and air or whatever's in that airbag. I have a trauma injury and chemical burns on my wrist. There are chemical burn holes all over the dashboard as well. At first I thought my beaded bracelet had punctured my wrist. One burn looked like a cigarette burn, and within 2 hours the burn hole skin turned pitch black. Other blisters formed as the hours went by. The next morning (thanksgiving) I went to urgent care and they referred me to the emergency room. They said it was chemical burn injuries, which I am now treating. It is extremely painful. I did file an insurance claim and there is a police report, but the accident was only 3 days ago. I declined medical attention at the time of the accident, as I thought it was only a simple bruise, and at that time didn't realize that the airbag vent was by my wrist, and that I had chemical injuries.

Takata recall - received a letter dated 3/2016 from Acura informing me of a recall on my car for air bag problems, which is a potentially very dangerous concern. The letter indicated the replacement parts would be available in the summer of 2016. This is now November and the part is still not available. I have called Acura client relations twice and my local dealer has attempted twice to obtain the part, all these efforts were without result. In my most recent call to Acura the rep could not help and refused to transfer me to a manager for assistance. I would like the part to be made available ASAP.
Takata recall as an owner of a 2007 Acura Rdx I received a letter on the recall issued. My vehicle was taken in for service on July 1 , 2016. Some 3 months later the symptoms that were first noticed have returned. That is the clicking sound from behind the steering wheel and the airbag notification warning on the dash. I contacted ed voyles Acura who performed the repairs for the recall to let them know that I am having the same problems again . Their response was shocking as I was given a convoluted explanation that amounted to the assertion that the symptoms I am experiencing has nothing to do with the recall. The very same issues that alerted me to a problem with the airbag system. It is obvious that there is a defect and a very dangerous one at that with the airbag system in my Acura Rdx which the dealer is insinuating that any repairs done will be at my expense. In my opinion this is not right nor fair and the issue remains unresolved.

Takata recall. Acura was supposed to replace my airbag "in the summer of 2016". The summer is over, but the parts are still unavailable. I want this shrapnel bomb in my steering wheel replaced now.
Takata recall - I received a recall notice(NHTSA recall 16v-061) in March 2016. As of today, no additional information has been received in regard to the status of this issue. We are approaching 6 months, which seems excessive given the danger that the airbag deployment could cause.
