Failure Date: 08/06/2018

I have some suspension related issues that have recently been diagnosed that are included in the NHTSA campaign # 11e022000 but when I type in my VIN# on your website it says there are no recalls for this item on my 2008 Acura Tl. I have another diagnosed issue with the steering from your recall # 08v091000 and there is no listing for this recall on my vehicle on your website. I was told that I was losing power steering fluid due to intense heat and that the power steering hose is deteriorating. This is very dangerous for me to drive my vehicle, yet see the recall is for certain 2008 models. Who can help me with this? another diagnosed issue is the powertrain recall # 04v176000 that is also not listed for my vehicle. I am having problems with the gears and am worried about the safety of this vehicle. I have problems with the 2nd gear. I will be notifying Honda, on all these issues, but the public needs to be aware on the determination of "certain 2008" models.

38 Power Train problem of the 2003 Acura TL

Failure Date: 07/16/2018

Vehicle was in motion, while going on the highway at 65 mph all of a sudden it jumped to 20 miles per hour making me and every body unsafe on the road, luckily the cars that were behind me were far enough and were able to react quickly. I never had any warning signs or check engine lights that would warn me there was something wrong with the car. I called the dealership and they said they couldn't do anything to cover the repair because the recall was closed back in 2005. I feel there was poor workmanship when they looked at the vehicle back when they inspected it putting peoples lives in danger.

42 Power Train problem of the 2004 Acura TL

Failure Date: 04/15/2018

One of the front axles sheared (broke in half). This happened when the car started moving forward when the light turned green. An accident didn't result but if this had happened while the car was moving it would have been very bad. The mechanic suggested the axle was made with weak metal. The car had 122,000 miles on it and has since been sold to carmax. The other front axle has not been replaced but likely is made of the same weak metal. I have the broken axle and will save it for another month.

43 Power Train problem of the 2004 Acura TL

Failure Date: 02/15/2018

My 2004 Acura Tl is experiencing transmission issues. I was driving down a city street when my car suddenly began slipping gears. The engine would rev when I pressed the gas, however, the car was acting like it was in neutral. I was driving in traffic so this could have potentially caused a crash. I am thankful that this did not happen while I was on the highway just moments before the problem started happening. I was able to steer the car to the side of the road and put it into park. The car would not properly shift into drive or reverse. I had to get my car towed to a mechanic. He stated that something in the transmission was overheating and that some serious damage could have occurred. The transmission problems that I am experiencing are identical to the problems outlined in recall #04v176000.

We then had to pull over ,shut the car off , wait 5 minutes and start car for it not even go a mile and we would have to repeat. We were traveling on busy parkway and this became a traffic hazard due to the amount of traffic. The car will shift into any gear and has 130,000 miles on it.

47 Power Train problem of the 2012 Acura TL

Failure Date: 07/20/2017

On 7/20/2017, I was driving on I-680 s towards fremont CA. I was driving roughly 70 mph. When I was about to pass a car, all of a sudden, the engine lost power. I hit the gas paddle all the way down, and it didn't work. As I felt a significant loss of power, I pull over to the side and stopped the vehicle. The engine shut down immediately when I came to a complete stop. I tried to restart my car, but it does not work, and the engine check light popped up. I had my insurance towed my car to oakland Acura, as I did an oil change there on 7/19/2017. After an inspection, oakland Acura indicated that the intake and exhaust valve does not open and close normally. A value adjustment will solve the problem. I felt that it's pretty impossible for all the valves to be malfunction all at once. Thus, I asked the technician are all the valves malfunctioning, the technician said should be. I then asked whether such a problem is caused by an improper oil change since they did my oil change the day before, and I only drove 25 miles after the oli change. The technician said, "I don't think so". I further asked whether it's an engine design problem that is subject to a recall, the technician commented that these engines last forever. Thus, they did a valve adjustment for me, even though I don't know what they really did. I got charged for $499 for this valve adjustment. I also noticed that when I started my engine (especially in cold weather), my car has a bubbling noise. I noticed that on many Acura forum, many Acura Tl owners have the same problem. I asked oakland Acura to look into this. The conclusion they gave me was inconclusive. I want to report this issue because it was really dangerous that an engine lost power completely on a high way. I am not sure if it's an engine design problem or not, so I thought I should report this.

Was driving on highway about 70 miles per hour speed, car suddenly loss acceleration power. However, the car radio was still on. I was able to pull off to the shoulder of the road. Sat there about 2 minutes. Turned car back on, and was able to accelerate again and car started to operate properly. Very scary to be driving at high speed and suddenly loose acceleration power. Thank god it was a Sunday morning without much traffic and I was already in the far left lane. Otherwise, this could have been a serious safety hazard, with another car striking me because I suddenly decelerated and stopped. Please let me know if other owners have reported such problems. This needs to be addressed immediately.

59 Power Train problem of the 2004 Acura TL

Failure Date: 09/12/2016

Recall number 04v176000 power train:automatic transmission I have noticed that when you type in your make and model this is the recall that shows up, but when I use my VIN it does not show this recall but it shows the same symptoms/ issues that are on this recall. My car whines after certain rpm. I called Acura and explained the same and they said it is not specific to my VIN. I asked a dealer and the employee explained that this was common and people have driven their cars with same issues up to 400k miles. Is this safe for me to drive when I know the problem exists. How can the manufacturer get away not honor when the exact problem exists. I have read a few complains that other people have expressed on the web. Is there anything I can do so Acura can honor this issue?.

60 Power Train problem of the 2008 Acura TL

Threaded section also separated coolant and transmission fluids totally lost. Dealer advised that this problem not seen on Tl but internet search revealed other models had been reported. Radiator replaced by owner. Transmission pan dropped and cleaned. Fluids replaced.

61 Power Train problem of the 2006 Acura TL

Failure Date: 05/21/2016

Headed out in the afternoon, it was may 2016 weather was mild 70 degrees. I was sitting at a stop light after turning out of my neighborhood on a two lane road and put my foot on the accelerator and the car would not move. I had a line of cars behind me who couldn't go around until the other side was clear. No lights came on on the dashboard, the car just wouldn't go even though it was in drive. I turned the car off and restarted, it went a few feet and then stopped driving again. I pulled into a neighborhood and tried to see if the car would drive in reverse and it did. Obviously I could not drive back home in reverse. I waited about 10 minutes (I hadn't made it far from home), turned the car off, back on and drove back home. The car wouldn't go faster than 10 miles per hour and was struggling to go into gear. I had it towed to 3 different shops and all told me I needed a new transmission.

64 Power Train problem of the 2003 Acura TL

Failure Date: 03/25/2016

My check engine light came on. I took 2003 Acura Tl to (2) local auto parts store (advance auto parts and autozone) to have it scanned using the diagnostic tools provided by technicians on site. Was given an exact recall diagnostic error code (a/t. When I call the recall center they said that this repair had already been done in 2005. This obviously could not have been done properly. I called again when I started having other problems with my car including hesistation during accelaration . This time I was told that my vehicle's "batch" number was not affected by the recall. I called my local Acura dealer (leith Acura in cary,nc) to get an estimate of the repairs which was more than the value of the car which did not include the "official diagnostic test" which was $131. 00 alone. Then was told I would have to pay for the test even though I already had 2 scan reports from my local retail store b/c the store only scans only gave a "general" scan and that their scan was more specific. I asked how can it be more specific when it shows the exact recall description. I was then told that if that was the case then I would be reimbursed. .

65 Power Train problem of the 2003 Acura TL

Failure Date: 03/25/2016

This car has always hadd scheduled maintenance and recalls performed ASAP. Transmission was shifting erratically so it was taken to transmission place before due and it was flushed and inspected. It still shifts incorrecly but intermittently. I decided to do some research and found numerous safety issues with the transmission. I bought this because it was rated as such a safe car for my teenager. I am beginning to rethink my original decision. All the scary results of this symptom have happened after the purchase. We have had it since sept 2014.

69 Power Train problem of the 2003 Acura TL

Failure Date: 02/01/2016

Recently purchased an 03 Acura Tl. 64000 miles at time of purchase. I drive it using the slap stick and mostly highway driving. I notice when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gears, at approximately 20-25 mph the car seems to jerk, or jump in the front end. Also between 3rd and 4th gears. Depending on how fast I accelerate and change the gears, sometimes there is more jerking. . . At lower speeds. . . . And less jerking when accelerating at a faster rate. The vehicle now has 76000 miles on it and I am concerned there are going to be transmission issues soon. This is my second Acura Tl, the first one having over 205k miles with no issues with transmission, that was replaced by dealer @ 55k. Is there anything that can be done with this issue that I am not aware of. There are no other issues with this vehicle. Did I miss the recall cut off date, was there never recall, or did Acura miss group of VIN #s? if this is truly a safety concern, from Acura, they should stand behind there products, correct the "known issues" with the transmissions, for there drivers to be safe, so they are there for future purchases.

70 Power Train problem of the 2004 Acura TL

Failure Date: 02/01/2016

Powertrain recall issue 04v176000. . . . Accelerated on its own when I was slowing down to park just hit the curb slightly . . Then the d light started blinking. . . Very scary.
