While driving on the freeway 65+ mph the eps alert came on and the steering wheel was extremely hard to turn. Luckily I was able to get the car home safely. I see many many complaints for the same issue, this is a huge safety issue and very dangerous. My car has just over 90k miles.

Day 1-2 of this issue: squeaky sound with steering, short drives of a few mins each- (with my child in the car). Parked car in garage. Day 3: could not get vehicle out of the garage as the steering was extremely hard, harder to left than right. No fluid found on garage floor. Had vehicle towed to dealership to diagnose. I was told it was the power steering rack but was not told exactly how it was failing but he did mention he sees this 'a lot'. Car was purchased and driven in maryland/DC/n. Va (unsure if car was properly treated against the substance to melt ice). I'm glad this did not happen while driving with my child but if indeed a faulty mechanism, why isn't Acura recalling?.

My car was driving nice, I stopped at the gas station and after I finish I turned it on and power steering light goes on, I didnt know whats the problem so I tried to move my car and I found that the steering was hard to turn left or right it feels worth than a car with no power steering thanks god the high way was not busy because its hard to control it I drove it slowly to gunn Acura it was a mile from where I am, and they said it power steering module (motor) and it cost me $2000. My car has 70 000 mile, I check around the net and I found most to all people have this problem happens on 68 000 mile to 71 000 mile.

The morning of Thursday June 30th 2016 I tuned the car on and had an odd sound that even when I turned or drove it sounded like a bus! the steering was hard yet I still managed to get to work and home safely. My husband said the power steering fluid was depleted and added fluid. I then took it to work and was running ok no more sounds and I was content. That afternoon though I started up again and then saw the trail of fluid running down from under the car. The noise and stiffness of the steering wheel was back. Needless to say I almost couldn't make a turn to get into my home.

Power steering rack failed unexpectedly. Car developed a noise without any warning, and the steering became hard to turn. Made it to the repair center (dealership) without any problems, but the steering wheel was really hard to turn by the time I got there (with a drive no longer than 10 miles). Looking at online forums, it appears that an abnormal number of people have needed power steering racks between 90k-130k miles due to leaks. This appears abnormal, as my understanding is that a rack should last for the life of the car. This makes me wonder if it has anything to do with the power steering leak TSB that Acura has for these cars.
