On two occasions my college aged daughter was driving this vehicle when the steering wheel became inoperative. There was an error message on the dash about checking the power steering system. There was also an icon displaying with a steering wheel. Luckily she was only in a parking lot when this happened and was able to stop. She was getting ready to drive on the interstate. Had she reached the interstate she would have been in a bad accident. Come to find out this is a known issue with the electric power steering system and Acura has extended the warranty. But this should be a recall!.

2012 Acura Tsx sportwagon: brought car to independent mechanic who diagnosed power steering failure as requiring replacement of "power steering control module". Acura has a "TSB" or "technical service bulletin" #19-021 regarding this issue. The car is very difficult to steer and is dangerous to drive because the driver is unable to steer quickly. Also the turning radius is essentially reduced as well. An Acura dealer is scheduled to examine the vehicle on 6/20/2025. The failure first appeared around the beginning of June 2025. There is a persistent audible chime along with (3) blinking warning lights (steering wheel with exclamation point, the letter "I" with a circle around it, and the message "check power steering system" message). This car is available for inspection upon request.
A "check power steering" light on the dashboard came on suddenly leaving me unable to steer the car at all. After re-starting the car several times, the light went off. The car manual indicated pumping the accelerator may cause this symptom, and--given the light had gone off--I drove the car home. However, after trying again to drive the car, the light is back on. Online Acura forums indicate there is a common issue with the eps control unit but no recall has been issued even though american Honda motor CO may have sent out letters to some owners indicating the possibility to receive reimbursement for the eps control unit. (I did not receive this letter. ).
The power steering is leaking constantly as soon as u pour it in the car drive it 2 miles all leaks out and have to refill in order for the power steering to work correctly and there is a recall for it on this vehicle.

Driving on the freeway. Going 65-70mph eps (electric power steering) indicator light came on. A message was also sent in inbox of car stating code such as 32 and 61. Steering wheel became stiff and was difficult to steer when car not moving. Went to auto zone to check out if there was any code and there was none. I change to a new battery and check steering fuse everything seem fine with charging system. I did research and found out there was many vehicle like mine that have the same issue. Also, look at Acura forums and some said there was a recall with the eps. Please help me figure out this issue. Thank you.
The contact's son owns a 2005 Acura Tsx. The contact discovered that there was fluid leaking from the vehicle while parked. In addition, the contact stated that there was white steam coming from behind the engine. There was no warning light illuminated. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the power steering fluid was leaking from the power steering hose, causing the power steering assist to fail to operate as needed. The contact later discovered NHTSA campaign number: 10v174000 (steering) which was linked to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered under the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 165,000.

Check engine transmission abs vsa tpms all lights went on suddenly. While I was driving suddenly all lights came on dashboard. I’ve used obd scanner to find the root cause but the problem can’t be detected. I went to Acura dealer in NJ and paid $250. They inspected, and said it could be this instrument cluster or that ecu. But they did not said anything concrete what could be faulty. Both are expensive to replace around $2000-$4000 each the lights comes and goes. These lights are not persistent. I’ve been driving with it. Sometimes when the lights are on ac doesnt work, steering loses control for a second. When it loses control car swerves. It’s dangerous but I’ve been driving with caution ?? in past, electric power steering was malfunction and I had it replaced for $1500. I will never purchase Acura or Honda for lifetime it should be recalled.
Power steering rack & pinion always leaks on these vehicles. It is possible to lose all pressure in system and for vehicle to lose control while on the road. Acura is aware of the issue on 04-08 Tsx models but refuses to issue a recall. On my personal vehicle, the driver's side seal is leaking.
The contact owns a 2007 Acura Tsx. The contact stated while driving from a complete stop, the vehicle lost power steering functionality. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the power steering fluid hose was leaking. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 10v174000 (steering) however, the VIN was not included. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that a fee would be charged for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 126,250.

1. The rack and pinion steering rack is leaking power steering hydraulic fluid. The power assist is not working and the vehicle is undrivable. Putting in new fluid does not help as it just drains out from he pinion within half a day. 2. Luckily, the seals on the rack and pinion failed in the community as low speeds and power steering was lost. Drove back home. No one was hurt. Afraid to think of what would have happened if this had occurred at highway speeds. 3. Not yet confirmed by dealer as car needs towing, which costs money as closest dealer is quiet far away. But many reports of similar incidents across online communities for this vehicle, where folks had to shell out thousands to replace the entire rack and pinion system. The seals are sealed inside and cannot be serviced. 4. Component has not been removed from the car yet or inspected by anyone. Yet to be removed for replacement 5. There were no warning lights, sounds or indications of any kind. No warning of loss of hydraulic pressure or air in system. Just a weird whining noise began when negotiating a slow speed turn and within a minute, all fluid drained and all power assist was lost.

Complete failure of the electronic power steering system. Warning bulletin and chime activated when car restarted at rest stop. There was no advance warning of imminent failure. Steering was compromised and rendered undrivable. Car was towed to a repair shop, who confirmed the failure of the steering system. If this event were to have happened 5 minutes before or after the incident, we would have been on the highway traveling at 65 to 70 miles an hour in a remote rural area.
The electronic power steering component failed in the vehicle. No previous warning lights or problems with steering. Had just parked car returned an hour later and warning light comes on. Fortunately, I was pulling out of a parking place when the steering locked up. Vehicle was towed to Acura dealer and the service advisor stated it would be covered under 15 year extended warranty then called parts to locate part to be replaced. I was called the next morning and told vehicle would be ready by end of day, but a few hours later surprisingly, I was informed the part (power steering rack) was not covered and the cost would be $3,400. To add insult to injury was offered to have sales appraise my car so they could fix and resell!!! I only have 38,500 miles on my 2012 vehicle and now my vehicle is just sitting. This is a real issue there definitely should be a recall for this. I see numerous complaints regarding this, please investigate this safety issue.
The contact owns a 2010 Acura Tsx. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds the power steering would suddenly fail causing the contact to use an excessive force to steer the vehicle. The power steering failure, brake system, and a yellow (unsure of its meaning) warning lights had been illuminated. At times when the failure occurred, the contact would have to pull over and turn off the vehicle, after waiting a while and turning the vehicle back on the warning would no longer be illuminated and the power steering would activate. The failure occurred intermittently/ the contact had a diagnostic device and pulled codes 71/01 and 71/02 referring to a steering failure. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer had referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline to file a safety complaint. The failure mileage was unknown.

The power steering alert light suddenly when I drive my friend on the road. Turning the steering wheel becomes very difficult. I rushed over to the lawn by the side of the road and luckily there was no one and no trees. Fortunately, no accident happened, and no one was hurt, but I am very worried and scared about driving this car again!!!!!! recall this car !!.
Power steering rack and pinion leaked and was replaced with an Acura remanufactured part. A few years later it is leaking again.
Was leaving my and steering wheel locked up.
I was driving my car home on 2/4/22 and the indicator light (check power steering system!) starting flashing and my steering was extremely hard to turn. I had to pullover in a parking lot and turned off the engine for a few minutes and the indicator light turned off and I was able to drive home. On 2/11, I was trying to pullout of my driveway and the indicator light went on again and I was unable to move the steering wheel. I turned off the engine and I tried again the next day and this time, the light remained on. I will need to tow the car to the dealership or mechanic to have it diagnosed.
The contact owns a 2012 Acura Tsx. The contact stated that after restarting the vehicle, the "power steering failure" message was displayed, and the steering wheel was very difficult to turn in either direction. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was scheduled. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 101,273.
Power steering hose leak. I took my vehicle in to have the oil changed and mechanics noticed a power steering leak. The mechanic looked up any recalls on my vehicle and noted this was a previous recall. Upon searching, 2010 there was a bulletin that went out, and the car was taken in 2010 and inspected and released. Upon further searching the other day there was a 2018 release and update of the same bulletin, which I never received. Regardless of it being inspected in 2010 and being cleared to drive, it seems this issue ultimately ended up happening, just now, instead of 2010. When I contacted Acura they said there are no current VIN associated recalls on my vehicle. My issue is, just because it was 10 years ago w/no issue doesn’t mean the issue doesn’t exist today, which it does. I’ve gotten no help from Acura on this. Any information you can provide would be appreciated. Thank you.
I was driving car to work and when I was making a turn my car steering wheel stop working it was so hard to maneuver I almost crashed I took it to the shop and they asked to call the Acura dealer before making repairs because this car had reports on the steering wheel malfunction I called and they said that this car wasn't cover by the warranty but this could off got me kill now the Acura dealer is asking me for 3000 dollars to fix it when is a car factory default.

While driving my 2011 Acura Tsx wagon on 10 July 2021, the power steering failure indicator light came on while crossing a bridge and my power steering immediately failed. After the vehicle was towed home, I searched the manual and found there is no power steering reservoir to check for fluid. So I researched youtube and found that this power steering has been a major problem with this vehicle. This is extremely dangerous and as I was on a bridge the danger was even greater as I could not pull over. I managed to safely exit but could not pull into a parking lot as there was not enough distance to keep the vehicle moving and I was unable to turn the wheel while the vehicle was almost at a standstill. When I got the car home, I researched how to correct the problem. Since the manual was useless, I turned to youtube and proceeded to check the fuse first. It was not blown. The steering control module needs to be replaced and the authorized dealership wants $1500 to $2000 to replace. My car has been well maintained and just turned 80,000 miles. This is a safety issue and could have put me in a very dangerous situation since I was unable to steer my vehicle! please contact my husband as soon as possible about replacing the power steering module as I need the use of my car! you can reach him at (860) 250-4751 or email austinh3@msn. Power steering makes an extreme screeching sound and Honda dealership in eau claire, WI, says they cannot perform the recalls, and that I have to go to Acura, which is 2 hours away from me and cannot get there. I feel that Honda in eau claire should be able to do it.
I was driving my car and all of a sudden it was hard to steer the car.
Driving straight road in town going maybe 40 mph, alert came on saying check power steering. Wheel extremely hard to manuever, barely turned into closest parking lot. This is extremely dangerous and needs to be recalled. My car is currently sitting at a shop waiting to be fixed, whatever that means. . . . $$$$$$$.
Warning light to "check power steering "unexpectedly appears. Loss of turning power suddenly occurs. No prior warnings exhibited. Dangerous situation could lead to fatal results.
Cannot turn wheel, it's very difficult.
Check power steering system displayed and the vehicle power steering stopped working completely. Had to move steering with force.
Eps failure warning shows up on the cluster panel. . . The steering wheel locked almost making me crash my vehicle. The vehicle is not drivable right now. This incident it's been reported for many Acura Tsx owners before. Are the manufacturers waiting for a fatal accident to happened?!?.
As I was driving down a straight road, the steering wheel locked and I got a message on the dashboad. It said that the electrical power steering system may not be working. I turned off the car. I turned it back on and continued to drive. However, within 1 min, the wheel locked again. Thank god I hadnt gotten on the freeway. There could've been serious consequences as this is an extremely dangerous situation while driving. I slowly brought it back home as I had to continuously turn off and on the car to unlock wheel for 1 min. To make some turns. This should not have happened to this car that I bought less than 10 years old. I had just taken it in a couple of months ago for an oil check and inspection.
My eps (electric power steering) module failed while I was merging to my right on to the highway on ramp. I was unable to stop due to the cars behind me and unable to pull over as the land sloped down into a retention pond. Now I'm a young men and was able to steer the car on the highway and pull off to the shoulder. I took my car to the mechanic and also did some research and found that the 2012-2014 Tsx have a reoccurring failure on the eps module happening around 75k miles ( I have about 100k). This recall wouldn't benefit me as I have already had the issue fixed, this is are the older women or man not strong enough to steer a car without powering steering and could potentially cause an accident ending in a catastrophic event. I feel that there is enough history with this problem to at least be investigated for the safety of drives.
While I was driving, the power steering malfunctioned and I almost got into a car accident as I could not turn my car. I was lucky but my life could have been in serious danger because of Acura. This is not a very old car and does not have a lot of mileage. The car had to be towed to a mechanic and said it would cost $1850 to fix. Ridiculous.
