1 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2013 Audi A6

Failure Date: 02/14/2018

In late December 2017 out of nowhere, my car began to display the warning, turn off engine and check coolant level (photo attached) ; this was very alarming as I take very good care of my car and have had all of the required maintenance done at the dealership. I immediately called and had an appointment scheduled at the dealer. Just a few days later on January 5, 2018 I took my car in for service and was told that the water/coolant pump needed to be replaced (attached). Unfortunately, I felt that the cost was too much at the dealer and I took my car to a reputable mechanic in the area who replaced the water/coolant pump. To my surprise in September 2018, Audi announced a recall for the water/coolant pump. To my understanding, this means that they are liable for any damaged pump. With that being said, I would assume that any issues related to the pump should also be covered under that recall. As noted on my service memo from the Audi dealership when I had my car inspected for the warning if not replaced, the engine's cooling system will not be operating efficiently and at the proper temperature resulting in catastrophic engine damage. in February 2018, a little over a month after having my car's water/coolant pump repaired, the car started to idle when I tried to pull out of my drive way. Not even a block away and the check engine light flashed on and off and the car cut off while driving and stopped in the middle of the street. I was so scared, but relieved that I was not hit by another car. I waited a few minutes and was able to get it back to my home where I immediately had it towed to my mechanic who told me I needed to replace the engine. I didn't have him do the repairs, but I then had it towed to the Audi dealer who told me the same thing, to replace the engine.

2 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2002 Audi A6

Failure Date: 10/05/2012

The Audi was stopped at a stop light when the rpm meter started to drop revs suddenly. Once the car was in motion the engine felt rough. The car was driven 3 miles with no further incidence and was parked for the night. The next day when the car was started in the morning the check engine light came on and the engine started to get very sluggish and shuddering. The car was immediately stopped and the diagnostic codes were pulled. The codes showed multiple cylinder misfires with specific misfires in cylinder 2 and three. The car was towed to an Audi dealer where this was confirmed. The dealership mentioned that there was a voluntary recall for exactly this issue. This is a safety issue.

6 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2001 Audi A6

Failure Date: 11/03/2008

I have a 2001 Audi A6 quattro 2. 8l with p1411 and p1423 dtc codes. I am hearing it is a vaccum hose or combi value problems from what I am reading, common to this model, but I have had several mechanics look at it and not want to tackle it. In a recent forum I was told many of the items I have listed were recall items-including vacuum hoses. Yes, many were, there was even a law suit with Audi, that Audi denied my claim and paid several on. I appealed and they did not respond and did not define why they refused to cover it. Audi still has yet to cover the vehicle in the professional manner I expected. My life burdens are enough, I do not need a car manufacturer or dealer to yank me around, the vehicle now has 205,000 miles, because I paid outrageous car repairs on it. I feel Audi is a good car, but fixing things on it that should be covered under recalls and service warranties is not happening. Do I really have to sue to get results, this is ridiculous! I have experienced check engine light, failed emissions testing, headlight problems, issues with water in lenses and mirrors, turn signal issues, I have had problems with my fuel line, replaced tie rods, and abs brake light signals after brake repair. I am hoping NHTSA can shed some light and assist me with rectifying my car situation possibly. I have been dealing with these issues for many years now and I am hopeful to receive some relief.

7 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2002 Audi A6

Failure Date: 07/25/2007

My check engine light is marking misfire but I have gotten a complete tune-up, changed all 6 coils on the engine changed all the spark plugs, I've done everything possible and changed everything I can that has to do with the engine all brand new and nothing has worked and its still saying misfire. . . I've googled this problem for Audi's and there were so many people complaining about the same thing. . . Also, I am having a problem with the electrical system as well one day my windows work the next it doesn't sometimes my lights will work and sometimes it doesn't, sometimes my radio will work some times it doesn't, the information on my dash sometimes doesn't light up and I can't see anything at night time, I have constantly been to the mechanics trying to figure out what's going on but we can't find the problem, I've spent so much money on this car trying to fix the problems but its really making it hard for me to keep spending money on my car and not being able to figure out what's wrong with it. This is very dangerous because if I'm driving at night time and my lights end up not working I can cause a very big accident I am very very concerned about these defects, my safety and others safety and would really appreciate if you can please investigate this problem because its happened to so many people. I also think something is wrong with the fuel system I'll put $60 in gas and two days later it'll almost mark empty I really don't understand how that is possible but if there's an answer I would really want to know. Thank you so much and I really appreciate your time.

8 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2006 Audi A6

Failure Date: 09/21/2006

I have a 2006 Audi A6 with VIN number waudh74f96nxxxxxx. On September 21st when I was driving the vehicle in my office parking lot, the transmission dropped dead when vehicle was in motion and I was unable to move the car. I stopped the ignition and restarted the car and it came back. I had the same issue on September 26th, after pulling off my driveway and after I was exiting my home the car died again luckily I was on local road and this time after starting the car, I started getting check engine light. I contacted Audi dealer and was able to get appointment on October 3rd. The dealer informed me that my car had engine oil sludge issue and they had to clean the engine and it would take at least a week before they could give me the car back. After a week dealer informed me that the vehicle was serviced but would not go above 20 miles and hour, dealer had never seen the problem before and was awaiting a fix from Audi engineering. Today is 16th and my car is at the dealer for almost 2 weeks now and I still do not have the vehicle. I contacted Audi and opened a case, case number 60373673, so far Audi is of no help. Dealer is doing excellent job of communicating with me but Audi needs to look at the issue as if this problem occurs on nations highway, people may get into serious accidents.
