BMW jointly owned vehicle, was not returned to customers on demand, nor swapped as is customary business practice (I. E. BMW repair/recalled for BMW loaner car), and held for unreasonable amount of time. BMW recalled the vehicle, in part, defective airbags, and was to send a consent form to the customers prior to ordering parts/repairs. The customers never received the consent form as assured and expressed concerns about the BMW who damaged the vehicle in their possession or disabled state. July 15, 2016 BMW flatbed delivered with unidentified chemicals/toxins that resulted in front end physical damages and/or toxins in BMW that resulted in "poison exposure", toxology tests pending. The toxins maybe airbag chemicals, sodium azide, hydrazoic acid, or others, and need BMW tested. Please inform on who specifically performs these tests or agency that does quickly due to the toxic nature. BMW had a duty to disclose these facts to customers, insurance, government, and others. 49 usc safety act 30101. Dot states ¿loaner vehicle¿ is customary practice in airbag recall, an obligation oem dealership, thus request the process in securing the loaner vehicle or reinstatement. BMW by affiliates, unilaterally took BMW loaner without providing a repaired BMW, unfair exchange, and was returned in a disabled status. ¿but for¿ wrecked/recalled defective BMW, a loaner would not have been required, safety act, 49 usc 30101. Please respond in writing, the process to (1) secure chemical tests; (2) vehicle safety review or decontamination, and (3) loaner car approval process for insurance. Found out today, after may attempts to resolve a noise in the front end. The right front motor mounts bolts had broken, causing the engine to move very freely inside the engine. This was only found out after a complete right from drive axle failure due tot he position of the engine causing the cv boot to rub the sub frame. This caused a complete loss of cv grease, and subsequent failure of the cv joint. The cv joint then proceed to grenade while driving over some rail road tracks. The outer axle then drove itself into the ground causing the vehicle to rise, and loss of control for a brief moment. The car car traveling at approximately 25 mph. Upon further investigastion I found this is not an isolated incident witht he motor mount bolts sheering off flush to the engine.

I am horrified. I have 135k miles on my 2001 BMW 325i and it will no longer reverse. I took it into the transmission guy and he told me it would cost $4k to repair. The car has been in very good shape, with barely any problem. He also sent me to a website where apparently many others have had the same transmission problem. Apparently there is a well known failure esp with the 2001 model 3-series. I believe a class action lawsuit or recall should be brought against BMW.
While driving in normal rush hour traffic my wife heard a loud pop from the engine compartment. The car lost power, brakes. She started to coast to the side of the road when other commuters started to yell at here to get out of the vehicle, at that time the cabin started to fill up with smoke. She tried to lower the window but that had lost power also. She was able to drive the car into the snow at the side of the road to stop it and then exited the vehicle. The 325xi started to burn and shortly was a total loss. Thank god she got out ok but was traumatized by the incident. Since this happened we have found many similar fires documented on the web.
Our vehicle is exactly the same as the 2007 model with the same inline six engine. The car caught fire while parked overnight in our garage due to electrical connections which remains active even though the car is not running. It had not been driven 12 hours prior to the fire. The car had less than 100,000 miles on it and had been seen by two BMW dealerships the week prior to this happening.
The head bolts are cracked/broken at approximately 70,000 miles.
Broken head bolts and blown head.
Heads of head bolts broke off. Normal slow, short commute driving. Exaust smoking.
I took my car to richmond BMW and they told me they discovered I had broken head gasket bolts ! I've been doing a lot of research and this is a very common manufactures problem ! these make and models should be recalled this is very dangerous !.
Purchased the car used, in January 2011, with approximately 110,000 miles. Vehicle had several stored engine codes, po0300,171,174,1345,1351,1353; mostly relating to oxygen sensors and the maf. All engine hoses, the maf, all 4 oxygen sensors and the ignition coil packs were replaced by a certified mechanic. Within 2 months of normal driving, all codes had returned. Mechanic is unable to determine the points of failure for these issues and BMW denies any existing problem the passenger side airbag light, turns on and off, randomly, whether someone is sitting there, or not. Failure of the sensor could cause the ab not to deploy during an accident, causing serious, if not fatal, injury. BMW is aware of the issue, does not replace/repair. Door lock/window/windshield wiper control module, known as gm5, fails randomly and often. It has failed several times, while I was in the car. Since it disables the door locks and windows, I was trapped in my car for several minutes. Thankfully, I had the window rolled down far enough to pass my keys to someone on the outside, so they could unlock the door. In an accident, passengers could be stuck, keeping emergency workers from giving them medical attention, in a timely fashion. BMW is fully aware of the problem, but denies it's existence. I also receive random exterior light out warnings, on the dash. Usually, it's both taillights, but more frequently, it is the driver side light sensor, that fails, though the light is actually working, just fine.
Engine vapor separator, hoses, dipstick, and vanos line replacement. This part separates the water vapor from the oil to remove condensation so it doesn't circulate inside the engine. The car was unsafe to drive with a faulty vapor separator and can cause engine vapor lock if it fails. The repair was about $1,400.
Vehicle service engine soon indicator comes on repeatedly and dealership cannot repair defect after 3 visits.
The contact owns a 2001 BMW 325ci. The vehicle would not start. The vehicle was towed to the dealer on September 17, 2008 and has not yet been diagnosed. The VIN was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 84,100.

We had bought a 2006 BMW model # 325i, the vehicle had 33,000 miles on it. Now this car has a head cylinder leakage on it and the dealer needed to replace an engine on it. The fact is that this car was less then 2 yrs, and we had such a major issue already.
Oil level sensor keeps tripping all the time. Dealership technician checked the oil level sensor to be faulty. Found fault 11 thermal oil sensor. Replaced sensor.
My wife own a 2006 BMW 325i, we bought it new, and since day one we complaint to our dealer that the engine knocks. We were told that they had similar complaints but can't fix the problem. Thus, they given us a pamphlet on how to start the car in the morning. Over, the years I have taken it back to the dealer but to no avail. We purchased our car at BMW of townson and do all of our services at russell BMW. Both dealers are in the state of maryland. They do have all the records of our services and complaint pertain to engine knocks. Recently, there are lots of recalls which initially car makers would not voluntary do it until it is scrutinize by NHTSA. I wonder if you would look into this issue. Thank you very much for your time and attention. I can be reach at cardiper@hotmail. Com or my cell 443. 226. 7689. Sincerely, huan bui.
A/c system when engaged made a lot of noise. Dealership technician checked and found noise coming from a/c compressor. Replaced compressor.
When pulling out the dip stick after vehicle was sitting for a while consumer was unable to read the dip stick. Oil spread in various places on the dip stick. Dealer was contacted.
