Takata recall. I received recall no. 16v-071 from BMW in March 2016. It has now been 13 months and BMW has not recalled the car and repaired the airbags. According to the NHTSA "takata recall expansion: what consumers need to know", since I live in zone a and the car is older than 2011 the recall should have occurred by now. I'm filing a complaint against BMW for not recalling and repairing my 2007 BMW 328i as it leaves me and my passengers at risk.

Takata recall - recall issued February 2016. Called BMW of north America on September 14, 2016 to check status of recall and obtain resolution. Requested replacement parts be expedited and BMW agreed. Business was to call me to provide details on expected date BMW of san diego would receive parts. Never received a call. I called back 3 days later and left a message with no return call. On 10/24/16 I called BMW of na to obtain an update. Was told the case was still open and should have been expedited within 2 weeks of initial call. I requested an alternative mode of transportation and was told sometimes they can get authorization for a loaner car, so my case was escalated to a case manager. Received a call same day and was now told they ran out of parts and may get parts early 2017! alternative transportation would not be provided because the federal government does not require BMW to do so. The air bag may or may not fail, but research was done that failure is not likely. So try again next year. I'm receiving the run around with a different answer each time. I do not feel safe that the vehicle air bag may fail. BMW is not taking responsibility for the recall or any "promises" they may or may not have done. I don't understand why other companies such as Toyota and Honda are concerned for their clients and provide alternate transportation to ensure safety. Their risky air bags are on the passenger side which at least gives you the option to drive alone. BMW faulty air bags are on the driver side. I have 2 small children in the vehicle and am concerned for their safety and mine. I expect resolution and BMW has provided nothing but excuses and different stories each time. Highly disappointed with their customer service in handling this major recall.

Takata recall the recall was issued Feb 2016 and it is now may 2017 and BMW has yet resolved the issue with the recall. I live in SC and was one of the states concerted to be the gulf states. All I get from BMW is a run-around claiming they don't have parts. Is BMW dealing with the issue in a timely manner as I don't consider 14 months as to being timely. Even more so based off the mileage I put on my vehicle every week as I am not a standard commuter driving 10 miles to work. Thank you. Billy geier.

This is an addition to our previous recall problems as all electrical shut off as well. Here are the additional documents to be added to public record that indeed 6 recalls were recorded to our registered VIN and yet was told BMW had no obligation to adhere to these documents?! its also crazy that we have tons of documents and yet we are allowed to show a mbyte at a time. How convenient.
My car is displaying "passenger restraint malfunction" error on my idrive dashboard. I searched and it seems there has been a recall but when I enter my VIN number, the recall is not shown for my specific car.
I have done the most recent 3 recalls on my BMW, I noticed through kredit karma that it claims a fourth one for the detection mat on the passengers seat air bag system. I did mention this recall to BMW when I recently visited for the 3 most recent recalls, but they claimed it was not affected. The alert of the malfunction only shows when passenger is seated, it clears after turning off ignition, but once back in passenger seat, it malfunctions once again. I would just like some clarification on this if possible. Thank you.
Same as this person passenger restraint malfunction. Nhtsa campaign number 13v564000. My vehicle matches the criteria exactly. Sport seats. Yet BMW claims it is not applicable to VIN. A simple internet search shows a flood of people having the exact same issue yet they are all being denied by BMW even though their vehicles fit the exact profile of the recall.

Passenger restraint system malfunction - warning error is on after multiples batteries have been replaced. Airbag is no longer working since this warning is on. The rear brake lights malfunction warming are on but still working/on. The right rear night light is not working but no warning error message. We changed the bulb but still not working. . . Please help!!!.
Passenger airbag seat pad does not detect. Steering wheel lock fault both these problems have been recalled on other vehicles of same models same year but not mine. Both problems have occurred on my vehicle and I refuse to py to get it fixed when others get there covered with a recall.
Restraint system malfunction! passenger restraint system - fault in passenger-restraint system affecting airbag, belt tensioner or belt-force limiter. This started happening 4-5 years ago when people would sit in the passenger seat. It used to come & go. It never goes off now.
Airbag system failure light came on. BMW refuses to fix the problem for free although this problem seems to be widespread.
Had many in warrantee visits and repairs involving the front passenger seat oc3 mat. . . Replacing the mat had previously resolved the problem successfully, but the problem returns a year or so later. Currently,as of 9-23-15,the issue is when the seat is exposed to the sun all day, the front passenger, while sitting in the seat is no longer protected by the air bag. . ,this is indicated by the "passenger airbag off" light in the overhead console being lit for the duration of the trip. This is a serious safety hazard. . . I have a video available showing this exact problem happening in my car. This make, model, and year has recalls and 15 year extended warrantees concerning the oc3 mat that BMW says doesn`t apply to my specific VIN. . . I believe due to the seriousness of the passenger not being protected in a collision, my specific VIN should be included in the recall or 15 year extension.
Driving a 2007 BMW 328i coupe (only 7,000 miles on the car), I was involved in a severe front end collision. . . The car is not drivable and may even be totaled. None of my airbags deployed.
Takata recall. After being notified by BMW that my car was being recalled for dangerous airbag deployments I have been terrified to drive my car or let my love ones ride as passengers. I have been denied use of my vehicle because of this very dangerous defect while waiting for the replacement airbags for years. I deserve compensation from BMW and takata as do all other owners who purchased their vehicles in good faith and have waited patiently for this horrible situation to be rectified.
