BMW 328 owners have reported 4 problems related to carrier/rack (under the equipment category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The diagnostics system was compromised using the obd. I hear noise coming from the dashboard the vehicle is being tracked. When I stop remove the key within 2 minutes I hear the noise coming from the dashboard. Within the next few minutes I hear a louder noise coming from the dashboard. The person who is tracking me is trying to locate the vehicle. Few minutes later they show up. The vehicle was linked to spectrum mobile so I am always picking up spectrum wifi wherever I go. Dongles were used to access my diagnostics system. An obd adapter - a dongle that plugs into the port and connects to the phone via bluetooth. Once you pair the smartphone with the adapter and run the app, a basic mode with high-level options, and an expert one that exposes all the low-level settings can apply and config. With spectrum mobile hotspots, you can access spectrum's wifi network using your mobile device. Spectrum mobile have unlimited access to the following hotspots. I see the following 3 hotspots all time wherever I go in my vehicle along with 2 others. * spectrum mobile * spectrumwifi plus * spectrumwifi you can register up to 15 devices per account, but only five of those devices can be connected to a spectrum wifi hotspot at the same time. Please help I have filed a police report with the long beach police department 502(c) dr# 20-49284 officer aceves did# 5995.

According to fire fighters the car's electrical system caused a fire. The smoke and burn patterns indicated the fire began in the front dash area. The vehicle was stationary, nothing was on, no electrical devices plugged in. It hadn't been driven in several hours, no one was in the car (doors were still locked, the electrical system no longer operated and the windows had to be broken to get into the vehicle). The fire melted the front dash, especially on the passenger side, smoldered for quite a while, and was hot enough to crack the front windshield. There is extensive fire and smoke damage to the car.
Sunroof exploded-2015 BMW 328i sedan-on Friday, 6/24/16 around 8:15am, while traveling in wash, DC¿s rush hour traffic at 35-45mph on route 295n, a loud blast, like a bomb, suddenly jolted my car! fearfully, I continued to steer the car looking for a safe place to pull over, which was approximately 150 feet beyond a curve in the road. I pulled over, my daughter and I were ok but bewildered when we saw a large gaping hole in the center of my sunroof! I immediately thought that we had been shot or a large object had hit us. Glass chips began falling on us. Still in shock, it took me a few minutes to realize that I should close the sunshade! not knowing what happened, we were too scared to exit the car, so my daughter called 911 and I pressed my sos button for assistance. We simultaneously were trying to explain the situation to the receivers of our calls. A DC police officer arrived and quickly accessed the incident. He'd witnessed the same on a few other makes of cars. He assured us that based on the outward protrusion of the remaining glass, the impact was from within, it had exploded, not imploded. There was no indication of a shot or object of any size hitting the car. There were a few pieces of various sized shattered glass on the backseat, where my grandson¿s car seat caddy was. The officer eventually convinced me it was safe to drive to my dealer and I did so. When I arrived at the BMW dealer, the service mgr. Immediately acknowledged to me and gathering coworkers, of seeing previous sunroof explosions. However, in two follow-up calls he stated that BMW would not cover (pay). The 2nd call, after following up with his manager per my request, he stated that [it] could only shatter if something hit an existing crack. . . The same with the previous sunroofs incidents he had seen. I did not have a crack in my sunroof previous to this incident!.

On February 6, 2013, at around 7am, I was driving south on the taconic state parkway near pleasantville, NY on my way to work . My electrical systems suddenly started to fail, and I heard a crackling noise from the backseat. I looked in my rear-view mirror and I saw flames in the backseat. I pulled over on the right shoulder right before the pleasantville exit. I struggled to exit my car because the seatbelt was stuck as the entire backseat of my car was engulfed with me inside. After it finally released , I exited the burning car in a daze. A good samaritan stopped to help me, whose name and contact information can be provided. She put me in her car and we each called 911. A nys trooper created a police report, which can be provided. As we waited for firemen, the car was engulfed in flames and blew up twice. One of my CO-workers stopped to help me and witnessed the car blow up. I have pictures showing the car completely engulfed and the entire car charred and unrecognizable after the fire was extinguished. I am now aware that, after the incident took place, BMW issued its largest recall ever in the u. S. Of approximately 504k vehicles, including the same year, make and model as my car. The recall stems from a faulty battery connection. Importantly, the battery and the battery connection for Bmws are in the trunk, which is where I believe the fire started in my car. As a result of numerous complaints and case studies, BMW had been aware of this battery-related defect on my car since 2010. I'm also aware that BMW has recalled other BMW models for a very similar battery issue that resulted in charring or fires in the Bmws. The car is currently being held by traveler's insurance company and is available for your immediate inspection.
