Exterior Rearview Mirror Problems of BMW 328

The contact owns a 2012 BMW 328i. The contact stated while driving approximately 15 mph and making a right turn into a parking lot, the turn signals, interior lights, and instrument panel lights became inoperable. Additionally, the side-view mirrors no longer operated as needed. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to the dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed and found that the footwell module needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the vehicle was no longer under warranty and also not covered under a recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.

The contact owns a 2008 BMW 328xi. While driving various speeds, the exterior side view mirrors rotated without being manipulated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure could not be duplicated. The side view mirrors continued to fail and caused the contact to lose visibility in the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a second inspection and it was determined that the seat control module was failing. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred the following day. The contact is in the process of taking the vehicle to a different BMW dealer for inspection. The failure mileage was 14,000 and current mileage was 18,000.
