Air Bag Not Deploy Problems of BMW 750

Takata recall. I was involved in a traffic accident which 100% of fault was assumed by the hitters insurance firm. The other driver ran through a redlight, at intersection of legacy and hedgcoxe in in plano, TX round 6:40 pm. The airbag did not deploy properly to protect me. The airbag attempted to deploy mere inches and exploded in my face causing hot air and metal to be released and blown into my face an eyes,the fireman on scene helped me out of car and stated that airbag and seat belt did not protect you because your injury is apparent. Subsequently following surgery, my left forearm was repaired with pernmant screws and plate holding my bones together. I suffered neck, back bilateral knees, and two fractures in my ankle. My left hand has extensive painful numbness and shooting pains one year after surgery. I am still grappling with limitations and disabilities to this day. I am a totally different man today after this accident and my doctors concur, this is a medical condition that is of chronic duration. I have all of my documentation including police report,hospital bills pictures of both cars, insurance documents.

The contact owned a 2006 BMW 750i. While driving at an unknown speed, the contact rear ended a vehicle, lost control, and struck the barrier wall four times. The air bags did not deploy. The air bag warning indicator illuminated. A police report was filed. There was one injury that required medical attention. The contact suffered four lacerations. The vehicle was towed to a salvage yard and deemed destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer sent an adjuster a year later to diagnose the vehicle. The inspector stated that the bald tires could have caused the air bags not to deploy. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

Drivers seat sensor mat malfunction light came on. When this light is on the airbags will not deploy in the event of an accident. I did research and found that this is a on going issue on this vehicle. Please help save lives by authorizing a recall.

My car has had the air bag light on several times and the dealer would just reset the light as the car was still in warranty, once the warranty expired they are telling me that there is a short and they need to replace the airbag and the detection mat. This issue was there on 2006 and 2007, 750i models and there was a recall NHTSA campaign id number: 13v564000. Now the dealer wants me to pay them $165 to look at the car and $1500 to fix the problem else risk the airbags not getting deployed in event of crash. I am sure this issue could have been fixed in warranty but was not on purpose. This issue is with this type of car and NHTSA should evaluate this model for this issue as there are much older cars which never get this type of issue ever and whereas my airbag light has been going on every 2 months and they kept resetting the sensor.
