4 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2008 BMW 750

Failure Date: 05/06/2015

Passenger restraint warning - apparently the passenger seat sensor has failed and the passenger airbags have been automatically disabled. A quick search shows that this seems to be a fairly common problem with BMW passenger seat sensors. There was even a recall for the issue, but the dealer claims my 2008 BMW 750li wasn't included in the recall (only 2006-2007 BMW 750li's). This car was built using the same parts. Shouldn't it be included in the recall list? apparently the problem is so common that people are building "sensor bypass" devices and selling them on amazon/ebay to place the passenger airbags into "always on" mode. This kluge doesn't sound like a very safe solution, since small children could be injured by the airbag system if it deployed unnecessarily. Dealer has quoted nearly $1,400 for a fix. Bypass solution less than $100. Seems one has to choose between relative safety or not blowing the savings fund. All to repair an obvious design flaw.

5 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2006 BMW 750

Failure Date: 10/15/2013

Front passenger seat occupancy sensor mat is faulty and is affecting srs system.

6 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2006 BMW 750

Failure Date: 08/27/2013

Vehicle had indication of passenger mat sensor failure. Spoke to dealership with no luck on coverage. Called recall number and was told there was only a recall on vehicle for transmission going into neutral. Vehicle was serviced at dealership for water pump failure a few months ago and I asked about recalls and was told there were none for my VIN. This is the 3rd thing to fail in less than a year of purchase. 1st was door actuator failure, 2nd water pump failure, and now mat sensor.

7 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2007 BMW 750

Failure Date: 02/11/2013

BMW has a recall on the air bag for this year and model but they refuse to honor the recall saying that only certain VIN# were covered. How can that be when mine has failed, should I not be covered since I have a sensor that failed.

8 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2007 BMW 750

Failure Date: 01/01/2013

Air bag occupancy sensor mat fault illuminated upon initial start of the vehicle in the morning. Took it to the dealer the next day and was diagnosed as having a defective passenger occupancy mat. However, the current recall does not cover it even though its a 2007 because the build date was Feb 2007 and the recall covers build dates of 2005 to sept. 2006. This should be covered under the same recall.

9 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2006 BMW 750

Failure Date: 12/03/2012

Srs system failure light on dash indicating that passenger seat sensor mat failure which will prevent the airbag system from deploying in the event of a crash.

10 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2006 BMW 750

Failure Date: 07/18/2012

The seat sensor is failing on the driver side reporting a driver restraint system fault. Causing error of airbag system. Possibly due to massage seat leaking. Read numerous reports about same error fault on bimmerfest. Com forums.

11 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2006 BMW 750

Failure Date: 06/14/2012

Nhtsa campaign #13v564000; called BMW to find why I have not received the recall letter as my passenger side front seat airbag light is illuminated. I was told that my VIN is not included in the recall. It looks like they picking and choosing cars instead of recalling all cars that have this manufacturing defect. Needs corrective action.
