2 Brake Light On problem of the 2007 BMW 750

Failure Date: 06/11/2015

The contact owns a 2007 BMW 750li. The contact stated that the brake warning light illuminated and the brake pedal became hard to depress, which made it very hard to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the check valve of the brake vacuum pump leaked oil into the brake booster. The dealer informed the contact of NHTSA campaign number: 10v446000 (service brakes, hydraulic). However, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 120,000.

3 Brake Light On problem of the 2006 BMW 750

Failure Date: 05/30/2012

The contact owns a 2006 BMW 750li. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign id number: 10v446000 (service brakes, hydraulic:power assist:vacuum) and was taken to the dealer for repairs. The contact stated that the brake warning light illuminated after the repairs while driving approximately 25 mph. The contact depressed the brake pedal but the brakes did not respond. The contact continually applied pressure to the brake pedal until the brakes responded. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing where the mechanic replaced the rear brakes and rotors. The mechanic found contamination in the brake booster and the vehicle was towed to the dealer. The technician stated that the brake booster would have to be replaced. The contact stated that per the recall, the brake booster could become contaminated over time due to the recalled failure. The manufacturer advised the contact that the repairs would not be covered. The vehicle was not further repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 92,000.
