1 Service Brakes problem of the 2017 BMW 750

Failure Date: 10/26/2023

The chasis function is limited on this vehicle due to failed right rear air suspension. Leaking right rear strut, and failed air compressor. Additionally, as a result my car needs an alignment. There was a service bulletin in regards to this exact issue in which BMW offered an extended warranty to repair vehicles free of charge up to 8 years/80,000 miles (mc-10215743-9999. Pdf) my vehicle is currently at 92,000 miles but within 8 years. I never received the notification. If I would have I could of had the vehicle inspected and fixed within the extended warranty time frame. I'm being told that BMW will not cover the cost because my vehicle is outside of the timeframe they agreed upon in the settlement. The cost is $ 8600. 00. This incident is the second issue I've faced. I purchased the vehicle certified from a BMW dealership. The initial problem I faced was with a failing braking system that was fixed through warranty after multiple trips to the dealership. I was at risk of the vehicle not stopping which could have resulted in a terrible accident. Now with this second issue I'm again at risk for my safety. BMW should be held accountable for producing vehicles with such safety concerns and at minimum be responsible for the cost to repair these issues.

9 Service Brakes problem of the 2007 BMW 750

Failure Date: 02/02/2020

My 2007 BMW li just started throwing itself into park while driving causing a major abrupt stop jerking the car to a stop. The transmission fault error came on and I turned the car off and waited a minute and turned it back on and was able to continue. It did this one more time before reaching home. Then the following day attempting to drive it as soon as I put it in reverse it jumped back into park. I had it towed to the dealer as I had read that there was a recall for BMW's with the same symptoms. I have since read numerous complaints of other BMW same year and model having the same problem. The dealer just said it wasn't covered under a recall and the transmission needs to be replaced and the cars age isn't worth the value of replacing the transmission so I have the car parked in my garage and cannot drive it. BMW needs to step up and take responsibility. There are plenty of the same make, model, and year having the same issue.

10 Service Brakes problem of the 2006 BMW 750

Failure Date: 07/16/2018

Brakes suddenly became very hard to engage. It took quite a bit of force to bring the car to a complete stop. A mechanic informed me that the brake booster system had failed and that BMW had a recall for the system - 10v-466. I called BMW warranty and informed them of the reason for my call as well as the VIN. They told me that there were no outstanding recall notices for my vehicle. While no one could tell me when, the fact that there were no outstanding recall notices on this vehicle apparently indicating that the correction on the car had been made. After a lengthy debate about what this meant and why BMW said they had no more responsibility for the issue, I asked to speak to a supervisor. I got sarah (employee #7716), an escalation supervisor. Very nice but essentially told me there was nothing she could do, that BMW was not responsible for this matter and there was no one that she could escalate me to. If the correction, as spelled out in the recall notice was in fact made, it did not work. The actual language used in the recall notice under correction states as follows: the updated brake booster vacuum supply line with fluid check valve is to be installed in all applicable vehicles to eliminate future contamination. (the emphasis is mine) I had esc save all of the parts and they have confirmed that in fact the brake booster was contaminated with oil which caused the membrane to fail. To me, this means one of two things: 1. The updated booster vacuum supply line with fluid check was never installed in my vehicle; or 2. The BMW solution to the problem was faulty. As for the brake booster vacuum supply line, it appears that the line was replaced at 97k miles in August of 2013. So what good did that do? it failed again, (I have all of the parts) in less than 5 years. See documentation attached.

12 Service Brakes problem of the 2006 BMW 750

The contact owns a 2006 BMW 750li. While driving at any speed, the brake pedal felt "soft" and did not fully stop the vehicle. There were no warning indicators illuminated. 13 Service Brakes problem of the 2008 BMW 750

Failure Date: 01/09/2017

The driver side door will not close. The suction mechanism does work and there is no backup system to ensure the door latches. It is a most severe safety flaw. There many complaints of this issue all over the internet for BMW cars. This is definitely a recall issue and the grosses of safety neglect by the car manufacturer. The car was stationary when this occurred. There is currently no recall for this safety flaw which is just completely absurd. Given the many complaints and the fact that this is a 2008 vehicle.

14 Service Brakes problem of the 2012 BMW 750

Failure Date: 12/25/2016

Dealer reported that moisture entered a waterproof enclosure that houses the brake modulator. Water entered thru a drain hole from the cowl and bypassed a plate meant to keep water out. Once effected by moisture the modulator shut down all functions of the car including the engine while moving. BMW blamed it on partial submersion of the modulator but car was never effected by water/submersion and the dealer agreed that their was no evidence of that and could not find anything to support that condition. Upon repair dealer went to great lengths to try and seal compartment and install diverter that was replaced in the repair to prevent reoccurrence. This is a very dangerous condition that appears to be a manufacturing defect in manufacture on a very limited number of cars made by BMW for this specific model. Owners need to know that the conditions experienced have a much different effect on safety due to the hybrid design than a standard non hybrid car.

15 Service Brakes problem of the 2006 BMW 750

Failure Date: 10/25/2016

Brake vacuum pump booster has failed due to contamination even after brake booster supply line was replaced in December, 4, 2010. When vehicle is in motion, the car loses power to brakes, brake pedal feels hard and vehicle takes 20-30 ft longer to brake even if pushing down with maximum force. This caused vehicle to take an infinite amount of time to stop, which resulted in car nearly running into another vehicle when issue occurred. Luckily I swerved off highway unto median. This issue can result in death or catastrophic accident as brake booster vacuum pump is affected in such a way that brake power is 50% less than normal, low to negligible brake power means car does not stop normally, it takes more time to stop, which can lead to death from rear end collisions, freak accidents and even running into persons or objects when parking.

16 Service Brakes problem of the 2008 BMW 750

Failure Date: 03/03/2016

My 2008 BMW 750li is leaking oil they say its the pressure switch then they said it was the brake buster pump leaking. 18 Service Brakes problem of the 2007 BMW 750

Failure Date: 08/02/2014

I purchased my 2007 750i BMW in 11/2013. Shortly after I purchased it, I started having brake booster issues. The brake pad becomes hard to press and I have actually rolled in the middle of intersections because the car would not stop. I took my car in to BMW of dallas and was told that my brake booster was contaminated but my vehicles brake booster was "checked out" (not repaired) in 2011 and didn't have a problem "then" so BMW is not going to repair the recall now. I was told if I wanted the brake booster repaired I would have to pay for it and BMW is not responsible because in 2011 when it was "checked out" it was fine. I feel that BMW knows this is an issue and before I have an accident or kill myself they should honor the recall and “repair” my vehicles brake booster free of charge. Gm is honoring recalls after issues caused deaths…. . Is BMW waiting for deaths to honor their recall??? that’s not good, not good at all!.

Is BMW waiting for deaths to honor their recall??? that¿s not good, not good at all! then on Friday 4/4 I received a call from BMW relations in reference to my email, stating I should contact the NHTSA because it is not bwms responsibility to repair my brake booster recall that BMW of dallas identified was contaminated. Is there anything I can do to get BMW to honor this recall and have them repair it free of charge to me since it is an know issue?.

20 Service Brakes problem of the 2006 BMW 750

Failure Date: 01/27/2014

The contact owns a 2006 BMW 750li. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 mph there was a power assist braking performance failure and the brakes required full force in order to come to a complete stop. The contact experience an increased stopping distance. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake booster needed to be replaced. 21 Service Brakes problem of the 2006 BMW 750

Failure Date: 12/02/2013

Brake peddle appear to resist depression, and braking becomes difficult or impossible. The resistance feels like a control system resisting, and preventing the peddle from being depressed. But it could possibly be a failure of power assist, but it feels like a hard, but slightly spongy resistance, like a hydraulic system closed a valve down stream of the brakes. The issue began abruptly 5 days ago, from no indication at all of an issue, to an abrupt issue in full effect. Now it is consistant, and very repeatable. When braking to a stop from over 20 mph, the brakes work normally down to ~10mph. Then between 10 and 7 mph, the brakes feel like they are pushing back, if not strongly resisting depression. Braking is difficult and dangerous. Take caution.

22 Service Brakes problem of the 2007 BMW 750

Failure Date: 04/27/2013

Crank case vent valve failure caused damage to engine. Low brake pedal.

24 Service Brakes problem of the 2006 BMW 750

Failure Date: 10/16/2012

Rollaway: certain model year 2005 through 2008 7 series equipped with the comfort access option and manufactured from August 23, 2004 through July 24, 2008 have an electronic key and an electronic connection between the gear shifter and the transmission (shift-by-wire) that automatically shifts the transmission to park when the driver presses the start/stop button to shutdown the engine. If the engine start/stop button is pressed 2 or 3 times within a short time interval, the system may shift the transmission to neutral rather than park. If using the electronic key (comfort access mode), there would be no protection from the ignition interlock that prevents key removal if the vehicle is not in park.

25 Service Brakes problem of the 2006 BMW 750

Failure Date: 06/22/2012

. While driving I came to a intersection I depressed the brake pedal but the brakes did not respond. I continually applied pressure to the brake pedal until the brakes responded. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing where the mechanic replaced the front brakes and rotors. The mechanic found contamination in the brake booster and notification of NHTSA campaign id number: 10v446000 (service brakes, hydraulic:power assist:vacuum) the vehicle was towed to the dealer. The dealer changed the valves & then told me I had to pay for diagnostic cause the breaks weren't working which I did paid $149 plus tax. After the diagnostic the technician stated that the brake booster would have to be replaced. Per the recall, the brake booster could become contaminated over time due to the recalled failure. The manufacture advised me that the repairs would not be covered.

28 Service Brakes problem of the 2006 BMW 750

Failure Date: 01/18/2010

On 1-25-2010 I was going to new port beach and traveling on fwy405n. About 5 minutes before the place of accident my car started swirling about 2' left and right and I was very worried. There was no sign on the dashboard because for any kind trouble to the car there is always some thing or other cautioning driver of steps to be taken. Also because I was about 10 minutes away from my destination so I continued to drive very cautiously. In about 5 minutes timecar started swirling very violently right and left and brakes and steering control was not working as I tried my best to control the car. This happened close to fwy73 exit. Though I was continuing to 405n I was on most left lane close to diamond lane. After violent swirling right and left during that action car took a complete 180 degree turn and quietly stopped very close to and parallel/adjacent to center divider facing to on coming traffic. I was safe without any hurt. I immediately called 911 and then I called home and then I called my contact to whom I was going to see. After hwy patrol arrived I saw that both the back wheels were tilted at 60 degree angle and when car was taking 180 degree turn bumper touched the center dividing wall and came off. This was total damage to the car. No other vehicle was involved in this accident and I did not hit any other stationary object. BMW does not want to entertain this and my insurance company liberty mutual is consistently telling that I am responsible for the accident and I hit the car with a standing object. I am asking for that they should investigate it properly by reading in the car computer that what was the reason of accident and what was mileage I was traveling. Also why brakes and steering stopped working which could have helped me in preventing this accident. I am not looking for any gains but trying to see that more people may not get involved in these accidents and may not be as lucky as I was. I sincerely need your help. Please help! help! help!.
