BMW 750 owners have reported 11 problems related to car stall (under the engine and engine cooling category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Rough idle, stalls at stops, shaking. Every time vehicle is taken into BMW of ontario for one problem it comes back with a different issue, I believe BMW of ontario is purposely damaging items on my vehicle that isn't covered under warranty so I'll pay them out of pocket.

Dealer reported that moisture entered a waterproof enclosure that houses the brake modulator. Water entered thru a drain hole from the cowl and bypassed a plate meant to keep water out. Once effected by moisture the modulator shut down all functions of the car including the engine while moving. BMW blamed it on partial submersion of the modulator but car was never effected by water/submersion and the dealer agreed that their was no evidence of that and could not find anything to support that condition. Upon repair dealer went to great lengths to try and seal compartment and install diverter that was replaced in the repair to prevent reoccurrence. This is a very dangerous condition that appears to be a manufacturing defect in manufacture on a very limited number of cars made by BMW for this specific model. Owners need to know that the conditions experienced have a much different effect on safety due to the hybrid design than a standard non hybrid car.
The contact owns a 2010 BMW 750li. While driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The failure recurred three times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine fuel injector caused the vehicle to stall and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that most of the time the vehicle would restart, but other times it failed to restart and had to be towed to a dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the warranty would cover part of the fuel injection failure, but the other part would not be covered. The approximate failure mileage was 50,917.

When entering the on ramp to merge onto the highway. I accelerated to merge into traffic and car vibrated violently and would not accelerate. I continued to press the accelerator but nothing happened and a message appeared on the display. Now, I'm stuck between the on ramp and the highway with a tractor trailer rapidly approaching. He barely has enough space to merge to his left and avoids rear ending me. This could have been catastrophic. I continued to press the accelerator and nothing happened. I put my hazards on and quickly read the message. It read, "maximum engine output not available. " so, I turned the car off and restarted it, and it worked fine for a few hundred feet until I tried to accelerate. It did the exact same thing but this time it allowed me to creep along at 35 mph. I pulled over into the emergency lane and turned it off and on again, and it worked as normal. But this time I just continued to drive to work at 35 mph. During work, I scheduled a service appointment the next day. After work, I pulled out of my parking space and something popped and once again it stalled. After turning it on and off again, I was able to drive it home. The next day at the dealership, I was informed of the customer care package (recall). But what I didn't know at that time, the car had already been recalled with the previous owner. A lot of the same work was duplicated. Btw, this is a 2012 750li with 37,000 at the time of the second occurrence. The first occurrence happened at 29,931. It happened again 2 months later. This vehicle is unpredictable and you don't know when it will stall on you. The last repair reduced the powertrain output and takes a deep gasp before accelerating. Please read BMW's customer care service. The number of repairs are too numerous to list on the remainder of this thread.
The contact owns a 2008 BMW 750li. While driving approximately 15 mph, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was not able to restart. The failure recurred on two other occasions. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it diagnosed that the cass module and blade key fob needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,267.
When driving down the interstate the car lost power go from during 60mph to 20 mph and I was on the gas, the vehicle stall out and would take 3-10 seconds to re-gain any power before the vehicle would begin to accelrate. Also once coming up to a stoplight or stop sign, the vehicle would feel as if someone had slammed into the back of me possibly jerking into gear. Spent countless times at the dealership with them giving me the run around, replacing random parts before replacing the entire transmission and still the vehicle continues to have issues. Now the car is misfiring and will not start at all. Been in the shop for 2 months and still not working.

While driving at 25-30mph, the vehicle stalled losing all power including the power steering and having to coast into the breakdown lane. This is the second time in 3 months. After sitting for 15 minutes and 5-10 "no starts", the vehicle finally started and drove normally. The dealership is unable to replicate the event. There is a current power supply recall on several BMW models demonstrating the same symptoms. BMW states that the power supply on the 750li is different from those vehicles under the recall. This model should also be included as I have read several similar complaints on the BMW forums. This is a very dangerous safety hazard in which many BMW 7 series owners are experiencing.

When pushing on the gas, the vehicle would stall, rpm's would shoot up, and would take 3-10 seconds to re-gain any power before the vehicle would begin to accelrate. Also once coming up to a stoplight or stop sign, the vehicle would feel as if someone had slammed into the back of me possibly jerking into gear. Spent countless times at the dealership with them giving me the run around, replacing random parts before replacing the entire transmission and still the vehicle continues to have issues.
