1 Driveshaft problem of the 2011 BMW 750

Failure Date: 12/31/2020

When taking off from a dead stop I heard a loud bang and car would not accelerate , took a look underneath and it seems at the very least the connection between the driveshaft and the diff exploded. I'm hoping there isn't any damage to the transmission itself , I know there has been a recall for this issue on 1, 3 and some 740 models I don't understand why not mine . . .

5 Driveshaft problem of the 2006 BMW 750

Failure Date: 04/30/2013

If you take off slowly from a stop, the transmission, while switching between 2nd and 3rd gear, will propel the car foward abruptly creating a loud metallic sound like gears slamming into each other (immediately illumating the transmission fault). The transmission will stay in either gear until you stop the car and turn it off. As long as you speed through the gears, this will never occur. Sad to think you have drive irresponsible to prevent transmission damage. I took the vehicle to a BMW technician who diagnosed it as being a bad transmission, drive shaft and guibo joint. After 2-years of learning to power through the gears, my bad transmission works fine, drive shaft and guibo joint are uneffected and chaulk up another defective guibo joint blamed for uneccessary repairs. This needs to be recalled as this will disable a car during take off causing multiple safety issues in congested traffic.
