2 Power Train problem of the 2017 BMW 750

Failure Date: 06/26/2022

Front driveshaft between transfer case and front differential, is available upon request. The driveshaft broke at the universal joint, once it broke it damaged the upper and lower oil pan making a hole the size of a softball, as it kept rotating broke transmission casing also draining oil from transmission and engine components. It caused the tires to get soaked in oil and slip and spin out. Luckily no cars or objects were near me at the time, if there were this would have been a big safety concern to the driver and passenger of the car. No warnings were given by this component before it failed, 5 seconds after failure the low oil pressure warning came on, this was after the vehicle spun out. The has been inspected by an independent service center and will be inspected by the insurance company.

4 Power Train problem of the 2007 BMW 750

Failure Date: 10/02/2021

I had my car towed to BMW of west springfield MA, to get car initially overhaul and completely fixed I understand that are six underlying recalls airbags, odb communications, brakes, electrical, door latches, after calling and letting them know my car was on its way, I requested a courtesy call and no was given I call two days later to be told my car wasn’t on the lot, then to be called back hours later to be told they could not find key to my vehicle, also they tried to make me pay for the lost key in which they lost, they still refuse to fix the recall and are requesting me get it towed out at there expense the recalls can only be fixed by BMW, also massachusetts and federal law requires them to be fixed, so therefore the car cannot leave the lot until recall is fixed.

5 Power Train problem of the 2007 BMW 750

Failure Date: 07/08/2021

1) the electrical section of the dashboard for speed, checking gas levels etc. Is no longer visible. It is available for inspection! 2) for the obvious reason: unable to determine all safety measures such as speed, driving safety such as gas level, warning signals etc. ! 3) the problem was the result of numerous visits to the dealership regarding the rain leaking into the car. Which they said they were unable to find a leak or leaks. Advised the of possible recall car latch issues where the water leaks into the car via trunk etc. They finally realized their error. But failed to repair. Said it was a recall issue. 4) as mentioned. . . Has been inspected numerous times by the dealership in willoughby, OH! 5) of course there were warning signs that there was a problem or would eventually be a problem when water starts getting into your car: when it shouldn't (doors closed, windows up sunroof closed etc. However, as I said previously, the dealership inspected the car enough times to find what the problem was and avoid the damage cause: (unless it is/was an issue that warrant a recall of the car's sealing, sunroof, latch etc. That was deffective!!! note: the dealership indicated that the water was getting in to the car, but couldn't stop it from getting in didn't have the knowledge to fix? wouldn't that be a recall matter? my safety & others is at stake if you don't take responsibility of a defect in this BMW.

6 Power Train problem of the 2006 BMW 750

Failure Date: 03/17/2021

The transmission is very dangerous, when pressing on the accelerator it will rev the engine high, then jump into gear and lunge forward. If stopped at a light, it would definitely kill someone, and when stopping the vehicle, it feels like you are getting rear-ended. On this date, the transmission launching the vehicle forward almost caused a case of whiplash.

7 Power Train problem of the 2009 BMW 750

Failure Date: 11/10/2020

Most BMW v8 engines including my own (n62,n63) have know major flaws with valve stem seals and timing chains. These issues cause catastrophic damage to engines and emissions system. It is a major safety issue as well as environmental issue. Vehicles end up immobile on the highway or emitting excesive smoke and fumes into the atmosphere. BMW has had a class action lawsuit over this I dont believe thats enough. These vehicles need to be repaired.

10 Power Train problem of the 2007 BMW 750

Failure Date: 02/02/2020

My 2007 BMW li just started throwing itself into park while driving causing a major abrupt stop jerking the car to a stop. The transmission fault error came on and I turned the car off and waited a minute and turned it back on and was able to continue. It did this one more time before reaching home. Then the following day attempting to drive it as soon as I put it in reverse it jumped back into park. I had it towed to the dealer as I had read that there was a recall for BMW's with the same symptoms. I have since read numerous complaints of other BMW same year and model having the same problem. The dealer just said it wasn't covered under a recall and the transmission needs to be replaced and the cars age isn't worth the value of replacing the transmission so I have the car parked in my garage and cannot drive it. BMW needs to step up and take responsibility. There are plenty of the same make, model, and year having the same issue.

11 Power Train problem of the 2013 BMW 750

The car had been taken to them with this issue several times as a potential recall issue.

13 Power Train problem of the 2006 BMW 750

Failure Date: 08/20/2019

In 2009, we bought this 2006 BMW 750li as pre-owned and certified warranty from BMW of tenafly, new jersey. We have registration address maintained in new jersey, and have not updated, even though we moved to chicago, illinois in summer of 2011. BMW issued 6 recalls for 7-series manufactured between 2005 and 2008. The recalls on manufacturer defects on electric and transmission in 2012 and 2013, and again in 2017. We missed all of the notices for these recalls. The vehicle was driven for less than 50,000 miles, from 2009 to 2019. The vehicle was inspected, and in good mechanical conditions, as well as body, since the vehicle has been garaged most of times. Since 2019, the vehicle has been in shops for repairs for electric and transmission and engine. It has been more than 3 years for our vehicle in the shops, and over $21,000 spent, there is no sign that the vehicle can be driven. Thus, we checked the online and found out the BMW recalls on this vehicle in 2012 and 2013. We called BMW customer relations & services, multiple times. BMW denied the recalls. We checked with the attorneys, including the ones who filed class action suits against BMW with billion dollars win for the customers on BMW defects. All said BMW shall honor their recalls. Further, the recalls will never be expired. Now BMW has declined taking calls, responding email, and recently shifting the failing repair to a BMW dealer. What shall we do? we have sent letter to their legal department. A shop who tried to repair over 2 years reported to us that this 2006 BMW 750li has a very bad reputation on electric and transmission. He said this is a common agreement among BMW dealers. Since BMW customer relations and services now shut us out, what department within BMW shall we go to. Shall we find an attorney for another class action suit, which occurred already?.

The national highway traffic safety administration reported in the NHTSA campaign #12v502000 (power train and electric system) has caused at least 14 crashes and possibly 5 injuries, and in the NHTSA campaign #13v564000 (air bags). The recall involved 45,500 cars with model years from 2005 to 2008 that includes 2006 BMW 750li. Our 2006 BMW 750li’s VIN is wbahn83586dt34592. Our purchase was from BMW of tenafly, 301 county road, tenafly, NJ 07670 on 3/19/2009. Odometer reading at the time of the purchase is 45,450 miles. Sale price is $35,777. 84. Our BMW 750li was vocationally used, and mostly garaged, from 2009-2011, in new jersey; and completely garaged, from 2011-2014, in new jersey. The vehicle was vocationally used, from 2014-2019, in chicago. Since 2019, the vehicle has been repaired in shops for electric and transmission failures: 3 years by bridgeport transmission (930 w 31st street, chicago, IL 60608, tel 312 842-1887, richard, the owner), and now already 6 months with field BMW northfield (700 frontage road, northfield, IL 60093, tel: 847-441-5300 x 8396, chris goodrich, the service advisor). Except for the electric and transmission issues, our vehicle is in wonderful condition. The body looks new. The current odometer reading is 92,000 miles. Since 2019, we have spent $1,500 for battery (as it was first suspected of the issue) by field BMW northfield, $6,500 for electric and transmission by bridgeport transmission, $650 for programming by a BMW dealership, and $5,350 for dsc control unit, and multiple tows 4 x $350 = $1,400. Total expenditure is $15,400. Currently, field BMW northfield asks additional $8,700 for transmission, but does not guarantee the vehicle can be repaired.

18 Power Train problem of the 2012 BMW 750

Failure Date: 05/08/2019

There is white smoke that is coming out of the back pipes of the car. The car is burning through oil. I am putting a quart in every 2 -3 weeks. My mechanic said that it is having the same problems as the 2009 model. The 2009 750i has been recalled to fix the engine problem and I have a 2012 model. The smoke comes out when I am driving not when it is stationary on the city street, highway or wherever. I don't feel safe. I am going to start driving more distance and I don't want to run out of oil and cause more damage to my car. I don't understand what is happening with the oil consumption. There are other issues surrounding the car. I am not a mechanic. But, I would like to file a complaint. This car was supposed to be in excellent condition when I bought it.

19 Power Train problem of the 2011 BMW 750

Failure Date: 04/01/2019

On 2 seperate occasions, once on a busy street and once on the freeway, the vehicle completely shut down during driving with and abrupt speed change as it slams into park or locks all wheels up with no control of the steering or any part of the vehicle. All electronics were not working and airbag lights were flashing as the vehicle broke down and shut off on the freeway with an 88 year old woman the BMW dealership sold this dangerous lemon of a car to. The 1st time this happened, the vehicle needed repairs that totaled over $21,000 , more than the value of the car. BMW is aware this vehicle has recalls & problems. These vehicles should not be repaired and put back on the road. Both incidents of the car shutting down while driving could have easily killed somebody. The dealership has record of incidents.

While driving my vehicle on the highway it unexpectedly went into neutral. I was able to pull off to the side and restart the car. On a separate occasion I was driving on a city street and it went into neutral again. I had to turn on the caution lights and restart the car. As I made it to my driveway it went into neutral again as I was turning. I took it into the dealer and they cannot pinpoint to cause but speculate unmetered air as a potential cause. Reading about this type of problem I came across a recall describing my exact problem but for 2006 5 series. My car is a 2007 7 series. The NHTSA campaign id number is 16v919000. The motor went out while driving and actually leaving the BMW dealership how ironic.

30 Power Train problem of the 2009 BMW 750

Failure Date: 01/23/2018

The issue began as I was driving north on the express way and the car stopped while going 50mph. It was raining that day and stated I had a drive train malfunction I thought my daughter and I were going to die. Since then I have had the car towed over 6 times and even what I thought was repaired after a $3400 bill from a certified mechanic. I was told it would cost 15k to repair. I currently still owe 15k on this car still. This is regarding a recall that BMW wants to charge me a $600 diagnostic fee for. This is before doing any work. However the campaign claims it is free. The recall bulletin went out in 2015 for cars 2009-2015. I was never notified of the of this recall I found out my self. My car has been towed over 4 times. One shop had it for 2 months and I was finally told that it needs the n63 customer care package. I decided to have it towed to reeves BMW. After the young lady at the reservation desk confirmed that the n63 was a courtesy. The service manager then tells me that they need to run an hour diagnostic which I agreed to for $179. Now I get a call that they need to run a $600 diagnostic. I have never heard of being charged for a diagnostic on a recall. When I looked up information on this, there have been many class action lawsuits on this issue. I am frustrated as I have already spent thousands of dollars on this vehicle and they will not honor the recall bulletin. On top of this, I was told I'd hear back on Monday, January 22nd. I never heard back. I explained to the service advisor that I travel for work and sometimes I am out of pocket. A storage fee. I have reached out to BMW north America and they told me to take it in to reeves. The car doesn't have over 80k miles on it and it has been giving me issues since it was purchased with only 29k miles. The car will die while in motion at any given moment.
