Slowing down at an intersection to make a left turn. Decelerated to about 3 mph. Accelerated to initiate the turn. Transmission failed and car did not accelerate. About 1. 5-2 second lag time before the transmission actually engaged. Almost got hit by an oncoming car.

2 Transmission Failure problem of the 2002 BMW M3

Failure Date: 12/11/2003

2002 BMW M3, repeated smg transmission failures rendering the vehicle inoperable. BMW has no idea what is causing the problem. BMW also damaged the vehicle trying to retrive it for yet another repair attempt. It may have started itself without the key in it while the tow truck was picking it up. BMW is in a constant state of denial. Vehicle has been in the dealer 6 weeks now and counting and it has less than 8000 miles on it.

3 Transmission Failure problem of the 2002 BMW M3

Failure Date: 03/15/2003

The transmission has failed 4 times. It has been repaired 4 times with no effect. The dealer drove it over 300 mile to "test drive" the car. BMW does not respond with anything but rhetoric and poor service. Other owners have had their engines literally blow up! BMW is a terriblel company with defective products and poor service.

4 Transmission Failure problem of the 2003 BMW M3

Failure Date: 12/08/2002

While traveling 60 mph, the owner began to merge for an exit. The transmission failed not respond to the clutch or shifting of the gears. The transmission locked in second gear from that point until driven home. The vehicle was towed to the dealership which notified the consumer that the clutch wore out and over-heated.
