Air Bag Problems of Buick Century

Tl- the contact owns a 2004 Buick Century. The contact stated that while her son was driving at approximately 35 mph, the vehicle's air bags deployed independently without warning. The air bag hit the contact's arm and face leaving minor marks and bruises, the contact did not seek medical attention for his injuries. The contact's son was able to pull the vehicle off to the side of the road and then calledthe contact. The contact arrived at the scene and drove the vehicle home without further incident. The dealer nor the manufacturer had been notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 156,000. Jo.

My sister owned vehicle above until I purchased it in 2004 from her. She nor I have never received any recall letters from gm on the 7 recalls that your records show that needed to be corrected or replaced. Would it be possible for you to check into this as to why we didn't receive notices from gm. I have not have any incidents,but would like to know why I did not receive any recall notices. The contact owns a 1998 Buick Century. While attempting to merge onto a highway she crashed into another vehicle. She was hospitalized for injuries. None of the air bag deployed. The failure and current mileages were unknown.

Lost control of the car on a wet road and hit a tree. Totaled car with most of the damage and impact being the front of the car. The problem is neither of the air bags deployed to prevent sternum and broken back. .

No crash/incident. Received increase in insurance premium for 2004 Buick Century. Called insurance company which stated the increase was a result of company having increased personal injury claims for failure of airbags to deploy during accidents. Although I am not reporting any accident, I indicate today's date of t his report as 12/15/2008 below. Number of deaths & persons injured are unknown; however, I placed the number 1 in each category to "proceed" to the next window. Further, I do not know any details of those accidents as reported by my insurance company; therefore, the "no" categories are left in the default indication.

While driving 20 mph, another vehicle hit the consumer's vehicle on the front/ left side of the vehicle. Upon impact, upon impact noneof the air bag deployed. The vehicle was towed to the dealership. The mechanic was unable to determine the cause.

The front inside corner of the passenger air bag was elevated slightly. Within a few months of purchase the consumer visited the dealer and ask if the cover could be fastened down. The dealer didn't know how to fasten the cover down.

While driving, consumer lost control of steering and ended up crashing, the airbag experienced no deployment.

Protective cover over the air bag is missing clips and the cover is bent. Mjs.

Consumer is requesting information as to how to obtain free vehicle repairs. The consumer was involved in an accident in which the air bag partially deployed and caused injury to the drivers head. The consumer and his wife are on a fixed income.
