general problems of the 2010 Buick Enclave - part 2

I was driving from idaho to laurel montana. I was coming out of bozeman montana, going over bozeman pass, which winds through the mountains. I was passing a car at about 70. After I had passed the car I tried turning back into the lane but the steering wheel froze up. I pulled the steering wheel very hard to the right and it broke free, which caused me to over correct to some degree and almost went into the ditch. The steering is no longer functional and the car only has 54000 miles on it. This defect will kill someone someday. It's just a matter of time. Gm is aware of the issue. There is a class action lawsuit now in process. I hope no one dies before it is resolved.

2010 certified preowned Buick Enclave with 56k miles. Has had numerous occasions of intermittent loss of power steering at low speeds. Examples are pulling into my garage, entering and exiting parking lots and garages. I took to dealer today and they say there is not code, they cannot reproduce, and they are unaware of this problem. I find that difficult to believe with multiple nhtsb complaints and a class action lawsuit regarding this specific issue. There is no way my wife would be able to overcome the loss of power steering in this vehicle and it could easily result in an accident if failure occurs while exiting a parking lot onto a street.

Since the mileage on the car exceeded 60,000, the power steering gives out intermittently. It is most prevalent pulling into parking spaces or when changing from drive to reverse and at low speeds. It has given out at higher speeds on the highway when exiting the highway and when making moving turns. The power steering was replaced by the dealer on July 1 with 67,000 miles on the car, yet the problem is still present with no change at all in performance.

This vehicle has had issues since purchased with brakes and power steering I contacted Buick and the dealer where vehicle was purchased and as of 9/8/2014 the brakes were the only ones fixed but power steering still and issue I have contacted Buick four times since March and they still have not done anything to help me and fix this problem they are claiming that it is a workmanship issue and not a manufacturer issue based on vehicle history this vehicle is very clean and no accidents bujt I am starting to dought that because power steering gets hard at about 15 to 35 miles and also at 45 to to 55 when exiting a highway bramp very dangerous vehicle to drive around I would not recommend Buick Enclaves to anyone because Buick or dealers give you the run around when you let them know about issue. . .

When driving this vehicle it has randomly started to loose power steering at lower speeds when turning into parking spots or making u turns and pulling into on coming traffic which is a major safety hazard. I've googled this and there are thousands of complaints with this happening not only with the Enclave but the acadia and the traverse as well.

While moving at low speed in parking lot and making left and right turns the steering would bind up like the engine died. It is a momentary problem that originally started around 35000 miles but is getting progressively worst.

Steering locks up and low rpm, as if power steering "dies" and wheels are extremely hard to turn upon deceleration and/or low speed.

Noticed at low speeds that the steering is locking up while trying to turn. Almost impossible to make the turn, like power steering is completely gone. Have had trouble turning into my driveway. . . We live on a main road that has a 50 mph speed limit. . . Twice I had the steering lock up as I started the turn across the lanes into my driveway. Thank goodness no one was coming. Several times now we have experienced this lock up while trying to park or turn through a parking lot. Only seeing this happen at low speeds. Nervous to let my 17 year old drive this vehicle now and especially after reading all of the comments about so many of the gm vehicles having the exact same issue. We purchased this vehicle in 2013 with around 73k miles. The first 5-6 months no issues, now seeing this issue. Gm should issue the recall!.

I was stopped on a main road and turning left onto a side street. As I turned the steering wheel and accelerated my steering wheel locked up. I am not certain if the wheel is "locking" or if it feels that way because the power steering unit, or something within the steering unit, is malfunctioning intermittently. I told my wife about it and she told me she was glad I experienced it because it's been happening to her with regularity.

My car becomes hard to manuever whenever pulling in and out of parking spaces and making turns at low speeds. The steering stiffness has becomed progressively tighter. I first noticed this on a trip to st louis with my family, it is a family vehilce and quite frankly, I don't want to risk my children's lives in this vehicle because the steering locks up so tightly that I can barely turn the wheel, whether it is merging into traffic or getting into a parking space or making a slow turn onto a street. I have had new brakes and tires put on this car last month and asked the mechanic to check my power steering fluid and was told there was no power steering fluid.

When making sharp turns, the steering tightens up or gains resistance. Makes a rubbing or grinding noise.

When I try to turn left or right at a low speed, the steering locks up. If I stop and start again, the steering works correctly. This is an intermittent problem but is quite serious as it could have caused accidents two of the times it occurred!.

2010 Buick Enclave" steering problem: when trying to make a "sharp" or "u-turn" at an intersection, parking spot or turn around, the steering wheel and car wheels seem to "lock up" to the point where vehicle almost stops by itself. You have to try turning steering back and stepping down on accelerator to get car moving again. Luckily, it has not happened at a busy intersection, otherwise I'm sure this could cause an accident. This has happened a in the past, since we've had the vehicle(2 years) but more and more recently. My wife mostly drives this car but I also have noticed it.

The contact owns a 2010 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that while driving 5 mph, he attempted to turn the steering wheel to the right but the steering wheel seized. The contact stated then turned the steering wheel to the left and the failure corrected itself temporarily. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for inspection. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 80,000.

The power steering gets very stiff to the point that I have a hard time turning or even trying to turn the wheel to park! I've been reading in the internet about a lot of people's complaints and no one has done anything about it or even try to investigate if it could be a problem due to faulty equipment!! the repair cost is very expensive $2400. 00 dollars we need someone to do something about this problem! maybe there should be a recall!! due to faulty or defective equipment!!!! please take the time to read everybody's complaints in the internet !! the worst thing about it we can not get any type of assistance for this expensive repairs!! please help!!.

The steering wheel is very difficult to turn to the left and to the right.

2010 Enclave started giving trouble in November 2011 while turning at low speeds with about 50k miles on the vehicle. The problem has continued to get worse and makes parking almost impossible at 80k miles.

The contact owns a 2010 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that each time the steering wheel was turned to it exhibited an abnormally loud rubbing noise. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times for the defect. The dealer advised that they were aware of the defect, but did not have a solution in correcting the failure at that time. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 25,000.

1- we bought our used 2010 Buick Enclave in June 2010 with ~24000 mi. (bought from a dealer; car had been owned by a rental car place. ) after only a couple months the # of times the steering tightened began to increase. It is especially difficult going into/out of parking/tight spaces. You have to use a lot of muscle to turn the car. I told the dealer about it during a routine service call, but. . . Of course. . . They found nothing wrong (at the time it was infreq. ) I contacted the dealer after having the car 1yr. They said there were no recalls and that I put too many miles on my car for them to hold it under warranty; I could bring it in for a $70 diagnostic fee. The $70 would not be applied to any service. I was given a guess-ti-mate of $1200-1500 if I had parts replaced. . . I decided to wait. The steering issue comes and goes but now happens almost every time I'm in a tight turn. I can't believe gm still has not been made to recall this issue. 2 - my car does the roll-back on all inclines too. I agree with other car owners - this should not happen in an automatic. Please make gm accountable for these issues.

The power steering unit leaks and power steering is lost. This power steering issue occurs at all speeds in all driving condtions. The vehicle is 3. 5 years old with 40,000 miles. The power steering has been replaced 4 times in this time period.
