1 Carrier/rack problem of the 2021 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 02/03/2021

I just bought a new 2021 Buick Enclave and there is a noise coming from the windshield or the window. Sounds like my window is cracked. However, when I try to let up the window, the window doesn't move and sound is still there. The noise is there from about 45 mpg and up.

2 Carrier/rack problem of the 2019 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 10/31/2020

I have had this new car just over for 1 year, im prior service military and was able to purchase this 2019 Buick Enclave for me on father's day last year because pur other car broke down on a family road trip. So I garage my vehicles I noticed a oil leak on the garage I didn't want to think it was from this car so I watched it seemed to be intermediate at times but recently got worse so I took it in told them and they said it was a bad oil filter but the oil filter is opposite side of the car from where this leak is dripping on my driver's side. So I just went under there to see what I could find I too was a mechanic in the army and outside as a civilian after so I looked took me 5 seconds to locate it that is the picture of the leak. Then I noticed rust cracks on my frame so I looked more and discovered the rust cracks are on the bottom and topside of the frame. So I did some research and saw coming up in Dec a recall is going to happen for cracked frames on the Buick Enclave 2020 but starting from build date's 3 months after mine was built but mine shows all the systems of that recall but isn't included. Also I had a issue with the starter stop my family and I were stopped at a red light on a city street with a car infront of us when the engine stopped normally then when it turned back on my rpm kept going up like your pushing the excellorator peddle but I wasn't because my foot was on the brake when I look down I eased up a bit on the brake and it shot forward on me I didn't hit the car infront of me because I depressed harder on the brake to hold it. Thats when I started looking and saw this recall soon to come out.

3 Carrier/rack problem of the 2008 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 06/09/2019

I was driving 70 mph on I-80 and heard a loud popping sound, like a balloon popping but louder. The kids noticed that the moonroof was shattered. We took pictures and there is no point of impact. It doesn't appear anything hit the vehicle, and no vehicles were close enough to us to have had any impact. The glass made a lot of cracklings sounds and pieces started to fly off of the car before we could safely exit the interstate. We stopped at a gas station and decided we had no choice but to get back on the road and find a walmart to get supplies to cover the moonroof. After getting back on the interstate the glass started making the crackling noise and glass flew off in large chunks. We were again forced to exit and remove all of the glass from the frame.

4 Carrier/rack problem of the 2016 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 05/16/2019

My car was repaired by a dealership in texas. First they said it was a fuel injector. They replaced that. Then they said that that didn't work so they said I had a cracked head. They replaced that. I brought it home to shreveport, la. And it had gas fumes coming of of the a/c vents. The dealership here in bossier city that they put in a broken part. They supposedly fixed the problem. I picked the car up and it still had gas fumes. I took it back. They smelled it. Kept it for 2 days. They couldn't find the problem so the kept driving it and running it until they couldn't smell it any longer. I picked it up again and I still smell it. I brought it back but they are denying that they do. Even lied to gm customer service that they rode around with me. I had a horrible headache when I returned home with the car. It's been parked for over a week. I am terrified to drive it scared it will catch on fire or my children and I will get sick. Please help me. I have tried working with gm but they are no help. They give me the run around. The mechanics have also lied so many times regarding my car to gm customer service. I need someone in my corner. I haven't been able the drive my car sine 5/16/2019. It went to the 1st dealership on 5/18/2019. I drove about a total of 1. 5 since.

5 Carrier/rack problem of the 2012 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 10/11/2018

Takata recall: on two different occasions, my car stalled while I was in motion. Luckily I was approaching intersections where I was required to stop and was able to do so. The first time it happened, it took me a moment to realize that the car had shut off as all the dashboard readings were working properly and the radio remained on. I finally figured out that the car had stalled and, while it started back up, I was nervous that it would happen again (my daughter was in the car and I was afraid of causing an accident. It happened again today, also while driving my daughter to school, but I stayed on quiet streets in the event that it happened again. This is very nerve-wracking and I can't believe there hasn't been a recall regarding this issue. Since this has happened, I've searched this problem over the internet and have found my experience is not an isolated incident. What is even more disturbing is knowing that some people have been traveling at very high speeds when this has happened to them. . . A huge liability on gm's part which I would think they would want to rectify right away. Let's hope they do. Thank you for the opportunity to share and I hope it helps draw attention to a very serious issue.

Tires: experiencing tread cracking, loss of tire pressure. I am constantly stopping to add air to tires, loss of pressure is intermittent. Car is in motion on city streets, highways and freeways. 7 Carrier/rack problem of the 2008 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 05/30/2017

I was driving my vehicle and a bunch of a. C. Coolant came out all at one time and went into my eyes while I was driving. Now my a. C. Won't work. My husband has tried to put more freon in but it keeps doing the same thing. We took it to a repair shop and there are no cracks or leaks however they said the evaporator core was the problem. Apparently they see tons of these issues with these models and years of vehicles and they all have low miles on them when it happens so I guess ours just failed later than others. He said there should be a recall with as many as there are and to report it here. Also I would like to add that this vehicle has had a significant amount of recalls and should be considered a lemon. Gm has had nothing but recalls with their Enclaves, acadias and saturns in the years 2008-2010 models and all of these models have the evaporator issue! the cost to fix this is $2,000!!! the evaporator should not be going out on a vehicle like this.

8 Carrier/rack problem of the 2008 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 10/01/2015

I bought this 2008 Buick Enclave a year and a half ago with less than 80,000 miles on it, and it's been giving me transmission problems already. I almost got stranded and couldn't go aby faster than 30 mph. It almost cut off on me in the middle of the road. My transmission and engine both would lose power and wouldn't go past first geat. Myrpm hand went all the way up to 4 which it normally stays between 1 and 2, and my gas hand went from full, to half, full, and almost empty in a few seconds. Engine rides rough and has to take off speed. Transmission and engine problems were advised by Buick as being a known issue but apparently they haven't stayed true to their name "Buick. " this is a safety hazard as I could've gotten easily hit with no take off speed as it barely moves. It has happened 5 times with these same issues but dealership kept saying that no codes would pop up to see what's the issue until a week ago, it did it again for about 5th time and I took it to the dealership who advised all kinds of codes were popping up with my engine and transmission. Also the writing on my control buttons have worn off and my front suspension needs replaced and my driver seat tracks which are not covered under my warranty. Buick nerds to hold true to their name and compensate or replace these detected 2008 Buick Enclaves. Buick is not holding true to their name. I'm very dissatisfied and is my first time being a Buick owner. Now the dealership is trying to fix these issues, bit I shouldn't have to pay anything .

9 Carrier/rack problem of the 2010 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 09/27/2015

I was driving on the interstate going about 70mph. All of a sudden the light on my console said traction control off, service stabilitrack. My gas would not work, the power steering off and all the power was going. I barely made it to the shoulder. It was very scary also have my two children in the car. I looked up the problem in my book and it said to turn off and wait 15 seconds then turn on. That did not work. I sat there for about 30 minutes. I looked under the hood, underneath the car to see if anything was leaking. Nothing. Finally it would turn over and start. I turned around to go home and about 5 miles from my house, it happed again out of no where. I again waited for about 20 or 30 minutes and it finally started. Now my check engine light is on. I am afraid to drive it now.

10 Carrier/rack problem of the 2014 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 05/04/2015

Passenger side front window developed a stress crack. The crack begins unders the cover for the rearview mirror and extends upwards about 1/3 of the way down window and terminates at the top edge of the glass. The crack happened while driving and there were no strikes to the side window. Appears to be a faulty piece of glass. I have since observed another Buick Enclave with the passenger side front window cracked in the exact same location with the same crack pattern.

11 Carrier/rack problem of the 2008 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 03/22/2015

Was driving on I-35 almost to wichita KS, about 9 miles out, low oil pressure light came on and binging alarm for me to stop engine, had grandkids with me, and it was dark on highway, pulled over and turned off engine, waited for about 10 mins, made it to a hotel in wichita, it was about 1 am Sunday morning. Had a mechanic look at the oil pan and check the oil, said when I get home to have it checked out. Noticed that car began to make a shaking or shutter noise upon aceleration, made it back to home, took car to Buick dealer on 3/26/15 Buick dealer said it might be something in the transmission after they test drove it, quoted me a $4000 repair price, I just paid the $123. 12 for the diagnosis, dealer said that if not repaired I might lose my 3rd, or reverse gear. On Friday 4/11/15 I received a letter from gm about a possible broken/cracked wave plate on 2008 Enclave which stated that I might lose my 3rd , 5th or reverse. Since it was the same wording as what the dealer told me, on Saturday 4/12/15 I took my Buick back to the dealer, because of the mileage requirement in the letter, drroped it off 04/15/15 and . On 4/16/15 dealer informs me that this is not my issue, they want to replace my transmissin at about $4,000. I am just leary because I received the letter after they had informed me that I might lose my 3rd/reverse gear, but now they telling me that this is not my issue and I will have to pay to have my car fixed. So I have to pay $520. 00 for them looking at my wave plate, and putting my Enclave back together. After seeing so many other Enclave owners on this site, I just decided to add my own so others owners can be informed of the ongioing issus with the 2008 Buick Enclave. I love my car, I want her fixed.

12 Carrier/rack problem of the 2011 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 07/03/2013

At approximately 18000 miles I noticed that my michelin tires had small cracks in them. Since they were not worrisome at that time, I just decided to keep an eye on my tires, for bulges or larger cracks. I recently had my tires replaced, less than 40000 miles on them because I was getting ready to go on a road trip and didn't want to take the chance. My tires were heavily cracked and one was losing air daily. I first contacted gm directly (prior to replacing the tires) to see if they were under warranty or known defective/recall items. When I spoke to the dealer about the tires being defective, they insisted the tires were not defective, that michelin adds silica to their tires in the manufacturing process and the silica addition does not do well in hot/dry climates. They indicated that because michelin does add silica on purpose the tires are not defective. My argument is that the tires are defective if they do not maintain their integrity in all climates. My Buick dealership did not honor the Buick warranty. Ref NHTSA id number 10543165, as I am not the only customer with the problem and tire integrity is a very important safety feature on vehicles. This needs to be investigated and a recall issued. I replaced my tires with goodyear tires at just under $900. On a $50,000 car, having to replace tires before 3 years / 40,000 miles is unacceptable. Just in case gm looks at these complaints. You have lost a loyal customer. I've bought 6 brand new gm cars and one slightly used gm car. Half of those cars have had problems, why I have remained a loyal customer, who knows. . .

13 Carrier/rack problem of the 2009 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 04/22/2013

I bought my Enclave brand new. I now have 73000 miles on it. We took the car in because it was becoming very hard for me to turn the wheel and I could have been in an accident because of this. The dealership told us that the power steering pump and the power steering rack & pinion had to be replaced! what??!! I had never heard of anyone that I know of having this kind of major issue with their car at 73000 miles. We did some research and found that there have been several other Buick owners with this same issue with fewer miles on their car. This is a safety issue that Buick needs to research and resolve. My other safety problem is the power liftgate. If your car is parked on a hill, the power liftgate will drop on top of you with no warning. The liftgate struts dont work when your car is parked on a slope.

14 Carrier/rack problem of the 2011 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 03/02/2013

My vehicle was originally equipped with michelin latitude tour 255/60r19 tires. At just over 16,000 miles I noticed cracks in the sidewalls. At 20,000 miles a representative from michelin assured me that it was not a concern. At 22,000 miles I presented the vehicle to the selling dealer and was provided with a service bulletin which stated that the stance of the manufacturer was that the condition was only incidental environmental damage and posed no safety concern. Since that time, I have contacted both the tire and vehicle manufacturers with no resolution. I can provide case numbers and emails. The tire manufacturer has issued a recall for this model tire but they tell me that the numerical run of my tires is not included. Possibly the scope of the recall is too narrow. My contention is that this is a defective product and a major safety concern for myself, my family, and other motorists. Because the condition has worsened so much in so few miles, I feel that michelin and general motors need to address the problem immediately. The tires should be replaced under warranty, not at the pro-rate policy now in place. Any assistance with this situation would be greatly appreciated thank you.

15 Carrier/rack problem of the 2008 Buick Enclave

Water is getting into car through sun roof draining into the car. Several rains later it is constantly water inside the car.
