1 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2012 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 03/12/2019

Rear lift gate will partially open then close again, when you attempt to manually open it will not hold in the open position. Lift gate will open all of the way then close electronically, the gate pinned my elderly mother. Lift gate will stop working all together.

2 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2008 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 05/12/2018

Rear liftgate opens randomly, liftgate failed to stay open and closed while getting things out of back, would then go up and down on its own and was unable to close manually. Reviewed complaints and see this was problem with a campaign number of 15v415000 but when we check the VIN of our car says there are no recalls.

3 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2018 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 05/10/2018

Premium package comes with safety alerts. However three of the alerts do not provide any of the safety function described. Front collision alert - have had three emergency braking situations and in all three where the red beeping alert in the dash did not function. Tested by gm engineer and he could not make it work at over 20 mph. Icons in instrumention light up so it is seeing cars but no warning at stated. Front pedestrian alert - similar to above, car is seeing pedestrian because icons light up green and amber but flashing red and beeping do not occur when you get in danger zone lane departure warning - there is not beeping when you cross a lane without using turn signal. Land adjustment works so vehicle is seeing lines but if you cross the line without any manual effort the alert does not work a gm engineer for the houston area drove the car and could not get any of these functions to work. He called gm and was told not to test this the front collision in the field but that it was tested at factory and worked as designed. So gm says there is not issue even though I have had 4 situations where it should have worked and the gm engineer could not get any of them to work as other gm cars. Other Enclaves on the lot all have the same issue, so it is either a design flaw or a programming issue, in any event it is a safety feature that is not working as described or as in other gm cars I own. They are not willing to discuss it anymore because even though it does not work in the field for him or me, their engineer said it is working as designed.

4 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2009 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 09/26/2016

I received a recall notice regarding my power lift gate. I took it to seelye of south haven in south haven mi. Twice. The first time they said it was working properly. Then on 9/26, they said it was not the prop rod. Which I can tell you the rod moves alot when I manually open my hatch. I can not use my key fab or button to open my hatch. I have to manually open it and shut it. I feel that if my hatch as an issue that is unsafe under any type of recall it should be covered with no expense to me. Seelye's tried to charge me a diagnostic fee also when I thought this was a warranty issue. I love my Buick but this is crazy.

5 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2012 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 09/28/2015

On 9/28/2015 on the way to work, whenever you turn on to the road or just making a general turn there is a loss of power steering. There is power steering during straight driving and slight corrections; but , when you turn into an intersection or try to park, you have no power steering. I can handle the loss of power steering but if someone were elderly or not very strong, they would not be able to control the vehicle. This vehicle was just serviced. A complete front brake job, oil change, tire rotation and new rear shocks that the dealership said were leaking. I checked the power steering fluid according to the Buick owners manual and found that the fluid was within the recommended level. I am scheduling an appointment today to have this looked at. I wanted to inform the NHTSA as this is an extremely dangerous situation and just wanted to bring this to light for safety reasons. This has been a very reliable and safe vehicle but at this time it is extremely unsafe to drive. Thank you.

6 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2010 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 04/01/2015

While driving up in a parking lot on an incline structure the vehicle was in drive began rolling backwards and almost hit the car behind our vehicle. We've tried it on several inclines and it always rolls backwards in drive. We have contacted several Buick dealerships and was told that it was just a characteristic of the vehicle. Went to another dealership to have them look at car and was told that I just have to drive it like I would a manual transmission (using both feet) to brake and prevent it from rolling backwards. I don't feel comfortable driving this vehicle with that problem. Safety should be a priority and if indeed this vehcle is known for this problem there should have be resolution by now.

7 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2010 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 04/01/2015

Vehicle rolled back while on an incline (parking structure). It was in drive almost hit the car behind it. It has done this on several occasions since then. Called Buick dealerships in area was told that this was a common characteristic of this vehicle. Took it in to service dept. And was told the same thing also, told that we should use both feet like a manual transmission.

8 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2008 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 12/18/2012

A water leak caused by a backup in the drain tubes of my wife's 2008 Enclave evidently caused an apparent computer system incident whereby I was locked in the vehicle and could not get out. The key was stuck in ignition (and could not be removed) and manual door locks would not unlock vehicle because there was some kind of safety interlock. Evidently there was a short in the electrical system which disabled all methods of exiting or starting vehicle. For some reason the onstar system worked, but onstar had no clue as to how to assist or override the interlock feature. It was winter time, and my wife and our dog were also stranded in very cold weather outside the vehicle. Luckily we were assisted by a stranger that used his jumper cables to get the car started. I am concerned that this could happen if the car were submerged or the computer system was somehow compromised it could cause a similar problem. Filed problem with Buick customer relationship via email but all they wanted to do was to replace the battery. As of this date (4/4/14) we still have the original battery, but they deny any knowledge of the problem. I have emails from Buick and their service request number if you would like to verify my claim. I only recently became aware that I could file a complaint with NHTSA in this manner.
