41 Air Bag problem of the 2007 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 10/01/2014

Sometimes when I am driving my icon for the airbags is illuminated on my dash, which I suppose means that my air bags are not activated. When I went to andy mohr Buick in fishers, in. 46038, I questioned them about it. And they said they did not know what was causing it, and they would have to put it on the analyzer and find out what was wrong and that could cost several hundreds of dollars. So I call gm and they paid for it. I was told that it was the personal body module and would run around $1300. I new about the key recall and thought that might have something to do with it. So I waited until Buick fixed my key problem, but the airbag did not go away. Then the next (light recall) came up, which is still not remedied so I do not know if that is not a part of the problem. Since, I bought the car from my elderly neighbor, she said that she complained about it several times to the Buick dealer, (andy mohr) and they did not do anything. They told her that whenever it happens to bring the car into the dealership. Well, with all intermittent problems it is very hard for a person to get the car to the dealer while it is happening. And all of these diagnostic charges are very expensive. And if you pay for a repair and then there is a recall, you never get your money back from the manufacture. Read some of your complaints and you will see that I am right, so the poor consumer has to wait and drive an unsafe vehicle until the slow wheels of government finally make the manufacture do the right thing and fix the problem. I am still waiting 8 months for the exterior lighting repair. Does some one have to be killed before we get action.

I looked up this recall with the NHTSA and was told by deandra from Buick that my car was not listed as a suspect vehicle for recall. I was also told by Buick/ deandra that she did not posess the ability to list my VIN# as a problem vehicle.

44 Air Bag problem of the 2008 Buick Lacrosse

Failure Date: 07/08/2013

Airbag readiness light on instrument panel came on which indicates the airbag's electrical system is malfunctioning. Took auto to gm dealer (cherolet) and was told that the passenger system module needs to be replaced and cost would be $1,000. Lacrosse is 2008 model year with only 48,600 miles. Over the last year, the airbag readiness light would come on periodically but would go off after auto was restarted. Noted on the internet that some other 2008 Lacrosse owners have had similar complaints about the airbag module and cost of replacement. Believe this is a defective part that should be replaced by gm without charge. I have had cars with airbags for over 20 years without any type of issue such as this.
