I went to start the vehicle and it failed to start. I found the fuel pump relay to be badly burned ??. On the 30 pin. The board was melted at the 30 pin spot for the fuel pump relay. I purchased a new relay from napa. I questioned whether they had a new replacement fuel pump. They told me it was not available only through the dealership. My concern was that where the relay was located at there was a possibility of a fire given how badly the relay and board was burned. I replaced the relay and purchased an extra incase this might happen again. To my surprise it happen just days later while I was driving on the expressway. I had to get off the road immediately. Engine died, no power steering. I checked the relay, it was smoking hot. I will have to have the problem resolved. There is no way a relay should ever get hot, let alone that hot. The fuel pump fuse was not effected. Why is the relay not protected from getting so hot. There is definitely a real risk of fire. No one sits in the back seat normally. But, my grandson's. This should not ever happen.
The contact owns a 2010 Buick Lucerne. The contact stated while driving 75 mph, the vehicle went into limp mode and the engine shut off inadvertently. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The vehicle restarted independently after 10-15 minutes. The contact was able to continue driving; however, the vehicle failed to exceed 20-30 mph. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on two occasions, and the dealer retrieved diagnostic test codes: p2138 and p2122. The dealer replaced the throttle body and the accelerator pedal; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the failure mainly recurred while making left turns. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could only assist after the vehicle had been taken to the dealer. My power steering went out so my mechanic checked it out and said my pump went out so I bought a new power steering pump and pulley had it put on and that didn't fix the problem. The next day I went out of town to visit family and my car caught on fire due to the power steering fluid leaked all out on the motor and got hot enough to catch on fire. Then my ignition stoped going all the way in park so I would have to disconect my battery cables so that it wouldn't run my battery down. The car wouldn't go all the way up in park making the ignition key wouldn't turn back far enough to shut my car off and lights.

Engine coolant leak at engine timing belt cover per repair service. Not available for inspection , already had repaired (see attached invoice). Had to pull over on busy major roadway due to high temperature warning on temperature gauge. Problem confirmed by service center.
The car cuts off whwn you're driving it without warning. I have had the crankshaft position sensor replaced two times and it continues to fail. There are even reports in the internet that list this as a problem with this vehicle. I am afraid that someone will hit me from the rear and cause me injury or death. I am about to have this sensor replaced for a third time. It's absolutely ridiculous that I have to keep spending money out of my pocket for the same thing over and over again. This incident is a continual problem. It doesn't matter if you're stopped or driving it just happens out of the blue with no warning.

The front engine mount has broken and been replaced two times in under 100k miles. Loud clunk is present on take off, shaking and vibration when accelerating is present too. The first time was just outside of warranty at 60k miles.
Steering wheel is turnt to right and the only the front light come on not the back and my alarm is messing with with the computer and the gas.
While passing a vehicle, accelerator immediately accelerated the vehicle to over 115 mph quickly, and the speed continued to climb. Could not deaccelerate. Both feet on the brake, no luck, shifted to 1st gear, no luck, pushed many buttons on steering wheel, no luck, accepted the fact that this was going to be a high speed deliberate rollover. Finally at the last possible moment, throttle disengaged.

I bought a 2007 Buick Lucerne from chuck hutton in memphis,TN. I have had problem after problem. First it was the driver seat that wouldn't move back, then the alternator and battery. Next was the motor engine running hot. Now it's the transmission it was running fine. Now it won't run in drive only gears 2&3. I saw that there was a recall on this in 2009 I don't know if it was fixed then or not because I don't know the original owner. If you drive the car it will run and cutoff in the middle of the street. (very dangerous) . Then it will run for a mile or to and do the samething now it's parked . I'm not trying to get hurt or killed in this contraption. I'm already disable I'm not trying to kill myself or get killed in this car. They are dangerous. All need to be recalled they are not top of the line Buicks they are a disaster waiting to happen.

I am writing a complaint to inform you about my 2006 Buick Lucerne, VIN number 1g4hd57296u171354. It has a defect. The car has been accelerating at various times. Also, the car has turned off twice while I was driving. The first time was while I was driving in the parking lot at my job and the second time was on may 24, 2017 as I was just starting to pass the blinking lights. I really feel that the car is no longer safe to be driven after the recall in 2015. I honestly would like the problem fixed as soon as possible for my safety and the safety of others. This car is unsafe and I would prefer to have the value of the car instead of the car being repaired. The car was supposedly fixed after the recall and the same problem is still happening. It is my opinion that this car cannot be repaired.
I been paying alot to fix this vehicle every thing keeps going wrong with it and I don't feel safe.
Veh while driving just cuts off for no reason, speed does not matter. If going fast enough you might be able to cost to the shoulder of the road however there is absolutely no warning it just cuts off. After waiting about 5 minutes you can restart the car but have no assurance that it will keep going. This has happened a total of three times. Once in heavy traffic, and twice when there was enough speed to get the car to the shoulder of the road. The first time was the camshaft sensor and had that replaced and the service man told me there was absolutely no warning for failure. The second and third time no warning but have not found out what the cause s of this problem was. I contacted Buick and there has been no recall for this problem. Got on a Buick forum and found that there are several instances of this happening to other Buick Lucerne's. It is very dangerous for this problem especially when you have not warning of sudden stops. Buick needs to look into this and pursue this with dilligence before there is a car pile up on a freeway. Thanks.

On July 26, 2016, while driving on cleveland drive, lots of smoke started coming out from under the hood of the car then all of a sudden fire started to shoot out as well. There were no issues previously with the car as it was in perfect condition inside and out. I contacted Buick to see if the car was ever recalled but it was not, however, it probably should have been. Now I am without a car because it was deemed a total loss. I attached pictures but did need to upload the fire dept report.

I have filed a prior claim with you on the ignition control module failure. Dealer replaced the entire module - gm subsequently issued recall for Buicks, altho they are claiming the failure has to do with a slot/hole in a key. I had only the key and the lock fob on the key - I did not have lots of keys and other accessories linked to my key, nor did I hit a pothole or anything jarring. The car just died, no brakes, steering, unable to restart the car and I had to have it towed. I was fortunate that it was at a low speed and not 65 mph on a highway. This repair cost me $939 dollars. And I am not sure that the replacement part isn't a defective duplicate, an inventory shelf item that has the same defect as the part replaced. If gm is claiming it's only a key issue, then the drivers of these larger vehicles are all at risk, as well as other vehicles that might be involved in an accident with a car unable to be controlled. Please don't let them get away with sweeping this issue under the rug. I don't want to be injured or cause a death because gm doesn't want to spend the money to replace defective modules. . Car died while driving it. Lost power steering and brakes. Had car towed to dealer. It was diagnosed as having a faulty ignition module. I was lucky I was not on a highway at high speed. Given the company recalls on ignition parts on other nameplates, it is likely that the Buicks are also seeing ignition problems and failures but gm has not issued a recall for this car platform. I hope that no one is seriously injured or killed before this defective part is recalled. I consider myself lucky.
