I was driving down street and motor quit running. The motor did start and I continued on my journey. Later that same day, the engine stopped again and would not restart for several minute. After several tries it started. I did not have any more occurrences for several months. I received a notice that my Buick had been recalled, but that parts were not available. In a letter dated September 2014, I was notified to contact my dealer and parts were now available for gm recall 14299. I called the dealer and they said parts were not available and they would call me when they were available. After several weeks, I called and they had the part and scheduled me for Nov. 17. I took the Buick in with four keys. They would only fix two keys; so, now I have two fixed keys and two unfixed keys for the car. On December 4, the engine quit on me again and would not restart. I tried moving the gear shift, but that did not help. After several minutes the car did start and has been trouble free since that time. When the engine would not start, all other electrical items seemed to work, but the starter would not crank. I took the car to a mechanic, but he could not find a problem because the car was working fine at that time. I am concerned that the engine will stop while on the highway or in heavy traffic in a dangerous situation. What can I do about this?.

Took my car into firestone and found out that the motor mounts are sagging. Most cars only need the bolts on the mounts replace - the Lucerne is the only one where you need to replace all the motor mounts because they don't have bolts in them. Another few miles and I will have an engine sitting on the highway. I am extremely upset because my husband is already handicapped and we bought this vehicle to last for more than 150,00 miles before we had to sink that kind of money in it. I have had a second opinion and it is indeed a problem.

I understand there is a recall to disable and remove the heated windshield solution from the car. This is a feature that cost extra when buying the car and I feel you should repair it, not just remove the feature. Is there any repair instead of removal? if not how do you compensate owners for the loss of functionality of the heated windshield system. I live in the northeast and use it occasionally in the winter.

I had 3 out of 4 motor mounts crack and fail. My mechanic said that he has run into this problem many many times. I have to wait 3-4 weeks for the parts to come in, because gm is trying to get them made and there are a lot of dealer waiting for them.
Front engine mount broke 11-13-2011 with 688 miles.

The contact owns 2006 Buick Lucerne. The contact stated that the engine would violently shake. The contact took the vehicle to their mechanic and was informed that three of the four engine mounts needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and the contact was informed that later model year vehicles were being repaired free of charge for the same failure. No reason was provided as to why the failure occurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 74,000 and the current mileage was 80,000.
Engine mount had to be replaced twice since I have owned this vehicle, the first is listed above, the second time is sept, 24, 2012 and the mileage on the vehicle is 31,000. This is unusual and make me wonder if the part is deflective. A vehicle less than three year old has two engine mounts replace. This to me is a safety issue, what if more than one breaks or all of the engine mounts break then the engine will fall out of the vehicle which is unsafe. Please investigate to see that this is not a common issue with the 2010 Buick Lucerne.

Lower front motor support replaced @ about 45,000 miles. Now @ 81,000 replaced torque bar ? (upper front of engine 2 big bolts replaced myself) great idea for a less powerful 3800 engine. Also constant anti-freeze leak. You know the cause. It is all over the I-net. . . Plastic connections. !!!!!! all this is common knowledge, why has nothing been done???? lji.
While driving the car looses all engine power and will just roll and this continues for up to 2-10 seconds. You do have ps,pb and all electric items the engine just falls to a idle. Then the engine races for a few seconds when it recovers. You have no idea this is happen until you fell the car is not powering. We owned the car since new in 06. This happen several time when the car was new now 2. 5 years latter it is starting this again. Buick has not been able to fix this issue. Milage on car is 42,000.

While driving at 55-60 mph in 5:00 p. M. Baton rouge, la traffic on joor road, I heard the doors automatically lock, then the engine died, I lost power including steering, brakes, and almost caused a terrible pile-up as my car stopped in heavy traffic. I had no ability to steer, brake, no power. I was at the mercy of god and this dead car, praying that no one was killed. I eventually was able to coast to a stop. Other vehicles were able to move to other lanes, abandoning me to the right hand lane of traffic. I called onstar and they should have the recording of the conversation, the terror I was in, and their instructions. I have 4 recorded incidences of the repetitive nature of this vehicle malfunction. I can provide details of all incidences, follow-ups with gm, and eventually having to payoff the piece of "junk" at a loss of over $20,000. My last gm purchase. I have since been driving toyotas. My experiences with gm management was horrific.
I own an '06 Buick Lucerne cxs with defective motor mounts. These motor mounts are known to be defective and many bulletins have been posted, along with many known customers getting them replaced. I however have had bad luck getting my local Buick dealership to replace them. The problem happens while taking off from a stop. The defective mounts cause the engine to vibrate and shake the car. This to me seems like a very dangerous issue to have to deal with and would like to get these mounts replaced as soon as possible.
