Engine Exhaust System Problems of Buick Lucerne

2011 Buick Lucerne. Consumer states issues with vehicle and describes a crash the consumer stated there was a very loud noise emitting from the vehicle which lasted about 30 to 60 seconds. Two days later, the noise returned, but it sounded as though steel was breaking. A week later, the consumer and his wife were involved in an accident. The police stated the consumer made an illegal u-turn and therefore, the vehicle was t-boned. The consumer believed he and his wife were inhaling toxic fumes and possibly passed out. After the accident, there was a muffled explosion that came from the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was totaled.

The Buick ws in my garage which is attached to the house, before going to bed I always open the door to the garage to be sure the garage door is down and the flag is inside. Did so that night and all was normal. The next morning when I opened the door to the garage to put the big door up and the flag out the garage was very warm. No other indication of a problem, assumed he furnace had acted up. We took the car to have breakfast did notice the hood was very warm as if the car had been running (I do not have a sense of smell so did not smell an exhaust) fuel was very low ( I wondered if there was enough to get to a service station) filled he car had breakfast then came home not apparent problems. Later that morning my wife use the car to go to an appointment when it started to miss, she pulled off the road and called aaa who towed the car to the nearest Buick dealer. The car is there now, they had no yet determined the problem.

I recently rented a brand new Buick Lucerne car from enterprise rentals. The following day I was standing by the rear of the car and I sustained a painful burn on my leg from the chrome tailpipe. Second or third degree burn approx 3x3 cm. I am very concerned that a child could grab onto the tailpipe and be severely burned. I have photos.
