Failure Date: 07/11/2014

I was driving east bound on interstate 20 approximately 7 miles west of sweetwater texas on July 11, 2014, when I was struck from behind by another vehicle (that left the scene. ) the jarring caused me to lose power so I was unable to steer or to brake, which sent my car crashing into a guardrail; furthermore, the airbags did not deploy at all. I was uninjured, but I have checked the gm website and to date, that car (which was totalled) has not been included on their list of recalled vehicles, though it clearly had the same electrical problem that all the recalled gm vehicles have with the loss of power. I had not been directed to remove anything from my key ring, but all that I had on it was the key fob. Clearly, this vehicle should have been recalled. I was uninjured, but only because the car's chassis held up well and I had my seat belt on. Also, I have many pictures to demonstrate the lack of air bags.

30 Steering problem of the 2007 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 03/14/2012

Been having a clunk/bump type sound in the steering when the car is sitting still or at low speed, had a local dealer look at it a year ago and they found nothing, in addition too we are finding drops of oil in our driveway. We have had several people look at it, with no luck at finding the leak. Recently the whole front end has been shaking, with several folks checking, including the local dealer who yesterday told me they no longer work on gm products. I looked online and found that the 2006 models had the same problems, so I talked to the a dealer and he said there is nothing they could do since there were no service bulletins or recalls for these problems for 2007. Then I found your site and found there were several other people who have had the same problem. I told Buick this and they said there was nothing they could do that is was only the 2006 models with this problem. I told them there was way to much of a coincident that all these people are having the same problem for it to only be the year before. We are smelling burning oil and driveway full of oil just waiting to get into the local lake, not to mention the recall said it could cause a fire. Check service bulletin # 273064 action # 10032192 report date Mar 01, 2012 recall # 06v105000 service bulletin # 06v105000 (our vehicle is a v8) from your site: NHTSA # 10022433 & 10032192 & 1020815 odi # 101483409 & 10460626.

31 Steering problem of the 2006 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 12/07/2011

Slow speed steering feels like something is catching, makes noise and does not feel right. Contacted dealer and they said there is a problem with the steering shaft but there is no recall on it so it would cost $300 plus to have it fixed, this is a gm defect from the factory that is common to the 2006 Lucerne and needs to have a recall before someone gets in a bad accident.

32 Steering problem of the 2006 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 11/12/2011

We were slowing to make a left turn when we lost all power we coasted to the curb and when I tried to start it there was a clicking as if it was a low battery. After a few minutes it started but ran rough but was able to get it home a few blocks away. Had it towed to a dealer and they could not find the problem. A week later it happened two more times and was able to get to the dealer who could find no problem. We had no more problems for four months and then it happened again. We took it to the dealer for the fourth time and again they could not find anything. We have contacted g. M. Customer svc. Twice and Buick customer svc. Who have opened a case file 71-129-047-0623. And suggested we contact a Buick dealer in oregon when we get home. We live in oregon and spend winters in calif. So now we must drive a 1000 miles not knowing when or if our car will suddenly die.

33 Steering problem of the 2011 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 09/16/2011

While drive on freeway at about 60 mph; went into a slit left corner and upon exiting the corner the steering hung up and would not turn back to the right. With much pressure on the steering wheel to the right there was a pop in the steering and the car responded to the right. With in a minute on the next corner the same thing happened. The car was driven 10 miles and parked about 20 minutes. While driving thought the parking lot on a 90 degree left turn it happened a 3rd time and took more force to get the steering to free up to the right. It happened one more time before leaving the parking lot. The dealership that sold the car to use was across the street and the car was left with them for repair. The deal was unable to get the car to do it while test driving. Buick and the dealership refuse to invest the time to or money to give us a root cause or corrective action. Their solution is to keep driving it until the problem is permanent or we can bring it in and they can simulate it in the shop. I'm disappointed that human safety is not their concern.

34 Steering problem of the 2008 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 07/15/2011

Clunk in steering when turning steering wheel when parked or moving. Can also hear the clunk noise when driving on rough roads. This is a problem that does not go away.

35 Steering problem of the 2006 Buick Lucerne

Failure Date: 06/20/2010

My vehicle pulls to the right. It has done this since I purchased the car last summer. Before I bought it the dealership put new tires and aligned the vehicle. It still slightly pulled to the right and has worsened since. I have called the dealer 3 times since to check for recalls or get their opinion about if the alignment should be checked again. I am afraid it is causing uneven wear on my new tires and it is quite irritating.
